12 Training The girls

Luffy and Nami returned to the coast. In that time Kuina also had spared Ann, who was every bit as good as Luffy with a sword. After seeing Ann fight with a sword she had no doubts in her mind about women not being able to be as strong as men.

She vowed in her mind that she will surpass them all one day.

After returning Luffy and Nami informed them how the map was already stolen by Buggy pirates.

"So what are we going to do now captain." Kuina asked out loud.

"Well we just have to find where this Buggy is right now." Luffy answered her question.

"Do you have any idea where he could be, Luffy?" Ann asked him.

"I know where he could be, He was last seen near Orange town." Nami told them.

"Well now that we know where he is, we will set sail shortly." After that Kuina went with Rika to send her home and say goodbye to the hotel owner.

Meanwhile Luffy reported things to Garp about how the marine captain of that branch had been terrorizing the town and how he had been killed during the fight with him. Garp tells Luffy to not kill Marines anymore and to restrain them and report to him. So they can arrest them. He didn't tell them about Kuina being the one who killed Morgan.

But the elders and Sengoku probably know all about the incident as they would likely have him watched by a person or different person in different locations as he was a wild-card who they knew nothing about.

Soon Kuina came back after saying her goodbyes and she also brought all of her luggage with her. After that they set sail into the ocean. Saying goodbye to Shells town.

They were all Sitting outside on the boat. "Well I think it is time to start your training." He said, looking towards Nami and Kuina.

"What are you going to train us in, Captain?" Kuina asked Luffy, really excited as she had seen Luffy was very powerful and can teach them some good things.

"Well good question, before training I would have to tell you many things so let's start with Devil fruits." Luffy told them.

"Devil fruits, they are real!" Nami exclaimed, very surprised that the legend of the devil fruit was true.

"Yeah, Actually I also have one." Luffy informed them.

"But we haven't even seen you use it." Nami asked again.

"Oh, there was never a need to use it, And in the East Blue I don't think I will have the need to."he explained to them.

They both just stared at him for sometime. 'How strong is this guy?' they both thought

"Well anyway, there are three types of devil fruit.

"First is Logia, It is the rarest of the three and said to be the most powerful. But that's not really true, while some fruit may be more powerful than the other it mostly depends upon the user and how adapted they are at using their fruit. This fruit allows their user to create , control and transform their body into a natural element or some kind of substance. They also make the user intangible so when someone attacks it passes right through them. They can also rebuild their body even when broken into pieces. And also give all the ability of the element like lightning being able to travel through clouds and other conductive materials."

"Wait doesn't that make it really powerful. I can't think what can even be as powerful as this." Said Nami with an amazed face. She was totally baffled that powers like that existed.

"Well they sure sound that way but what if I told you that if I count the top ten most powerful people in the world not many of them are users of logia fruit. Some of them don't even have any kind of fruit." Explained Luffy.

Both Nami and Kuina's eyes widened at that. 'how could a normal person even match that kind of power.'

"Well let's continue" Luffy said

"Second is Zoan, they give the ability to transform into an animal and their hybrid forms. There are also subsections in it. Including Ancient Zoan which gives the ability to transform into an extinct species like dinosaurs. And Mythical Zoan which gives the ability to transform into a mythical creature like phoenix, nine tailed fox or a dragon.

And lastly Paramecia, they are the most common of the three and fruit other than Zoan and Logia comes in this category. Like wave generation, levitating things etc."

"Logia still sounds like the most powerful fruit." Said Nami After hearing everything.

"Well for all the ocean other than the Grand line that can be said to be true. But In the Grand Line or better yet the second part of the grand line they lose most of their advantage, Even many of the Logia fruit users die because of their arrogance as they get close to the second half of the Grand line. Well there are weaknesses of devil fruits. Like whenever they touch ocean or sea water they lose all their power and not only that they kinda lose energy to do anything and become like a dead fish."

Then He showed them Sea stone "This is called a sea stone. It emits an energy that is similar to the sea so if a fruit user touches it the same thing happens when they touch sea water."

They both looked at the stone. 'This thing is really useful.' They thought.

He continued "And while some fruits are more powerful than others it still largely depended on the person who used them. If a person had enough determination and Imagination they could make the most useless fruit into one of the strongest fruit."

"So what kind of fruit you have, captain." Asked Kuina.

"I ate gomu gomu no mi, it made me rubber man. In the strictest sense it is a Logia fruit but I would say it is a mix between Logia and Paramecia."

'This is kind of lame compared to all the things they heard.' Both of them thought. But didn't say anything. Luffy could guess what the girls were thinking. He just shook his head and thought you' will see in the future how strong it can be.'

After that Luffy, Ann and Makino told girls everything about world nobles, world government, cipher pol, Marine, underworld, yonko, Shichibukai and more importantly about Haki and Rokushiki while answering their questions from time to time.

Nami's mind blowing with all the information she got in such a short time.

'Looks like I was really a frog in the well' thought Kuina.

"Wait, if the Rokushiki is the secret technique of the world government why do you know how to do it?" Asked Nami.

"Because I have a relative in the Marines and he taught me." He told them but didn't elaborate further.

"So this Haki is mostly the thing which makes the human without any devilfruit compete with them." Kuina asked Luffy while thinking about it.

"Yes that's power which lets them fight them at equal with the fruit user. By which Kuina became really interested to learn it.

After that he taught them exercises to toughen their bodies. Well Kuina's body was already quite trained so she might not need much training.

After some time of training they were ready to sleep.

Luffy called out Kuina on the stern of the ship.

"Kuina, can I see your sword for a bit." He asked her when she came.

She took it out and handed it over to him. She never really gives her sword to anyone, but Luffy was the man she had decided to follow for maybe all her life, so she didn't have any problem giving it to him. Luffy grabbed the sword, he could feel the sword clearly. "It is a really good sword" he told her and then handed the sword back to her.

"I. Is it true, Captain?" Kuina asked, stuttering a bit.

"What is true?" Luffy asked as he looked toward her.

She looked a little embarrassed and was looking down, "That you are in a relationship with both Ann and Makino."

"Oh that, yeah that is the truth, as A future pirate king I have to have a harem."

"So do you also want me to be in your harem?" She asked him with her face down. Although she had never had any interest in things like that, She was clearly aware of how attractive she was, So it was quite possible that her captain would want her. And she had already decided to follow Luffy as her captain and if he wanted her to do this, she would have no objection and follow what he says.

"Why do you want to be in it?" After hearing that her face became even more red full of embarrassment.

"N..No.. this, I..I was ju..just asking." She mumbled in embarrassment.

He laughed at the nervous reply "Don't worry I won't force anyone to join in on it. It is all their choice." 'Well if you don't call emotional manipulation forcing, as he knew of their past, their weaknesses, yeah probably not.' He thought to himself.

She was glad to hear that because she because now she knew even if a little bit of pervert he wasn't really a mad person who would force their crew to do things they didn't want.

"Okay, now the real reason I called you here. I will train you in swords now." Luffy said to her, his voice became serious.

After hearing that Kuina also became serious.

"Kuina have you ever heard of breath of all things." Luffy asked her and She shook her head in no.

"What about people being able to cut steel." Luffy continued on.

"I have heard about it but everyone just said that it was nothing but a legend. But after seeing all that it is kind of easy to believe." She replied to Luffy.

Luffy then went inside and brought some papers with him.

"Look closely." He instructed her, which she did.

Then threw a paper in the and then swung his sword at it. But the sword didn't cut it. Instead it dragged it with him.

"What do you think?" Luffy asked as he looked toward her.

"I would have said that you are the worst person I ever saw at using a sword, if I hadn't seen you fight with it before." She said with a deadpan look.

'Looks like her father was really shitty not only he never encouraged her in training. He didn't even teach her much. He even taught Zoro all about this even though dumb enough to only learn it after so many years.' He thought to himself.

"It represents that a real swordsman only cuts what they want to cut and nothing else. For it you have to learnhow to feel the breath of all things. After learning that cutting through steel will be easy enough for you." He informed her.

She became really interested after hearing that he told her all about his experience when he was learning how to do it. What he felt and everything.

After telling her everything he left her alone for her to process everything.

She looks at the back of her retreating captain, who had become quite endearing in her heart, As he was the first person to not only believe in her dream was also the first person to teach her about Swords aside from her father. Well her father only taught some basics which he taught every of his students. that she could have learned even from any dojo. After that she practiced late into the Night.

Luffy woke up in the morning and saw that both Ann and Makino had already woken up.

He went out to see Makino, Nami and Ann standing on the bow of the ship looking ahead, "Good morning, girls."

The girls looked back at him and smiled. "Good Morning, Luffy."

He went to Makino and Ann and then kissed them both on the lips. Nami was looking at their affectionate display with some Jealousy.

"Do you want a kiss too, Nami?" He asked her cheekily with a smile.

Nami just huffed and looked to the side blushing.

"Hahahaha.." Luffy just Laughed

"That Kuina girl is quite hard working and she trained late into the night." Said Ann. She was really impressed by how hard working the girl was.

He sensed that Kuina was still asleep.

"Of course she is, I was the one who recruited her." They just Rolled their eyes at his boasting. But they thought that he was really good at spotting talents Like Nami who was a very good Navigator and thief and Now this Kuina girl.

He could feel a group of people a bit off the shore of an island. "Look like we are close."

Soon an island came into their view, and they saw a pirate ship docked on the shore. They all recognized the ugly jolly Roger of Buggy pirates.
