20 Summoning contract
I had a small tour of the forest, there are multiple cats around and some of them seem to have even mastered some jutsus, I saw some using water Jutsus, fire Jutsus, and some even disappearing in shadows?
I got to know more and more about them and I'm pretty sure they come from the same plan as the others summoned beasts we've seen in the serie, but as they have their own isolated island no one have discovered them yet.
As Tora lead me to their main temple, I finally asked a question that has been intriguing me all this time.
Kayle: "You mentioned about Maru being your prince? I'm not sure if I understand what you mean by that..."
Tora: "Well it's quite a long story, but let me try to make it as simple as I can, first I need to explain to you how we come to existence, we are born from an entity called the Shadow Tree, it can take up to hundreds of years for one of us to be born, and as you could guess it Maru is one of us and born from the shadow tree too"
He points towards a massive black silhouette far away, I never really paid too much attention till now as I thought it was only a mountain, but looking closer I can see that a distinctive dark tree form, My mouth open widely as I'm stunned.
Kayle: "Is..is that a real tree? with leaves, roots, and everything?"
Tora nods proudly while smiling and continues his explanation.
Tora: "Well to be precise, the higher we are born in the shadow tree, the better is our potential and so is our shadow's affinity... as for Maru? he was born at the peak of the Shadow tree and never in the past have we had anyone born from that high, even I, was only born 30 meters bellow the peak making me the leader of our Neko-clan"
Kayle: "So that why you said he was your clan's prince? but how come we found him on earth as a kitten then ?"
Tora looked lightly sad remembering the past.
Tora: "After he was born for some reason... his vitality was very low, and it kept disappearing... we tried everything we could to no avail... and after 10 days his heart stopped beating... As for all our deaths, we carried him to the peak of the shadow tree and put his body to rest in the after life drake hole"
Tora seemed slightly excited as he continued explaining
Tora: "But two months later... he suddenly reappeared... out of thin air he materialized in front of us in the middle of the town... that was our clan's biggest miracle until now"
I looked suspiciously towards Maru and I'm pretty sure he had a few beads of sweat running down his forehead as he started talking mentally inside my head.
Maru: 'That's the point when I discovered I had a pocket dimension... and came back to visit it'
Tora: "Maru explained that his life source was connected to a human out there... and that is what gave him a second chance... that's why you will always be welcomed as our benefactor"
Kayle: "Oh really? well I feel honored to have such a warm welcome"
It seems that I've been more connected to Maru than I thought... guess a beating is to be scheduled shortly after we are back at my home.
We continued to talk as he leads me deeper and deeper into their temple, once there I saw a familiar-looking scroll.
Kayle: "Isn't that a summoning scroll?"
Tora: "It is... but until now we never met any human as you are the first one to ever step a foot on our island... Would you make us the honor to form a summoning contract with us?"
Before he had time to try to convince me more I quickly took the scroll marking my name inside it with my blood too afraid he would change his mind.
Kayle: 'As Chris brown would say.. gimme that'
Tora then taught me the hand seals to do a summoning Jutsu, it seems that they themself don't really know its origins, all they know is that it has been passed from generation to generation.
Tora: "If you even need us, summon us, and you can also summon some of us from time to time... it will feel good to see something else than our island... and make sure to train hard or else with your current Chakra you will never have enough to summon me"
As I heard him talk about Chakra I finally start thinking about something that I had completely forgotten until now.
Kayle: "Do you guys know about Natural energy ?"
