10 The beating

Few minutes before I came.

"Faith why are you not coming. you will put me in trouble," Amarachi panicking to herself

" Oh, Amarachi you are here, where is the princess, the King is asking for her presence," Favour said

" no way," her heart jumped

Amarachi dragged Favour with her

" What is it, where is the princess?"

Amarachi took a deep breath

" the princess went out,"

" WHAT" she was so shocked

" hold on, who let her go outside, did she sneak out by herself,"

" no, she didn't sneak out by herself I helped her,"

" Amarachi why, why would a thing like that. What you just did right now could cause you, your life. Nobody would care about you, even the princess herself. She would let you take the blame"

" So, what should I do?" Amarachi shaking with fear

" I don't know" Favour shook her head

" Where is the princess, the King is waiting for her," one of the guards said

" the guard is here" Amarachi leg was shaking

" Ok, we are coming. Amarachi, we can't keep the King waiting, I have to tell him the truth,"

" Ok, don't worry go and tell him whatever comes my way I will accept him,"

" Amarachi" Favour and Amarachi hug each other. They both cried

Favour leave. Favour go and meet the King

" where is the princess, why am I not seeing her,"

" My king....." Favour is muttering

" what is it, speak up right now," Queen said angrily

" She went out,"

" what who let her out," The King said angrily

" It is Amarachi,"

"what my King, you see this dirty thing, they let Faith leave, could you imagine that"

" call Amarachi right now,"

They called Amarachi and Amarachi came. They all went outside

" I am sorry, I don't know what to say"

" guard hit her 30 strokes of the cane,"

Amarachi was so surprised.

" Please, my queen,"

The guard straightens her body out and starts flogging in and then I came.

I was so surprised.

" wow, look who we have here, her personality hasn't changed a little bit. I pity this poor maid who has to suffer," Johnny said

" Mom, Amarachi?"

I look at Amarachi face, it was because of me that is why she is here right now.

They start beating her

" Mom, it was my fault, not hers, I tricked her"

" Faith, no need to beg because it is her job to look after you,"

" Fine, if you are not going to stop it, I will stop it myself,"

I went to where the guard that is hitting her, the cane hit me. Though it pained me, that pained is way smaller than the pained she must be going true

" Faith, My princess" The king, queen, and guard shouted

Everybody was so surprised

" Mom, please can you stop it" I begged

" Fine," the queen left

I went to help her up

" Are you alright,"

" yes"

I, Favour and Lauryn all helped her up and carried her to my chamber
