16 Chapter 16: back to the city

It's been three months since I came to this forest and I've been fighting and exploring this place as much as possible, I don't exaggerate and rest from time to time or simply experiment on different species. It's been interesting since reading it on a book is not as effective as doing it yourself.

I have not leveled up a single time, this is just too unreasonable but my stats still increased slowly but they increased.

I at least got used to battle with monsters making me at least able to fend for myself pretty well.

I'm now walking out of the forest because even if I now I'm stronger and able to do something I'm not ready to go back to that place not yet. While walking in the area I saw a river and thought it would be good to take a bath since I don't do it so frequently here.

I bath myself in the water of the river after making sure it's clean with the magical spell <clean>, then I used some soap I made myself when I was studying alchemy back then and after being fresh and clean again I left, I know I could just use the <clean> spell on myself but it sometimes feels better to take a proper bath.

Rayden:it looks like it's time to leave.

I say already dressed and ready to go. Before leaving I give one last glance at the forest it truly is sweet to the eyes, making me stand there for awhile just looking at the scenery without worrying about anything, feeling the wind on my face with the smell of the grass and nature is something everyone who can should do once in while. To leave behind all the trouble, stress and pain that life brings on, even tho I didn't have much to take on, in this life but I do know all those besides someone like me who's trying to always be in control of the situation is condemned to stress out at least a little so this is like a process of self-healing in a very good way.

Rayden:hum... maybe I should stay for a while longer and just appreciate this place for my own enjoyment with no actual reasons or things to worry about...

???:just get the hell out of here.

Said a something or someone that I couldn't detect previously, not good.. that's what I get for letting my guard down.

Rayden:who are you? And what do you want?

???:who I am matters not and I want you get the hell out of here.

While it said so I took the chance and used <eyes of Gods:all seer> it's used to be able to see all kinds of things from ghosts,hidden creatures etc.

I don't really like to use this eyes because I might end up seeing something I shouldn't or didn't want to so I avoid using them but when an unknown individual talks to me, I guess I don't really have much of an opinion but to use this to test and discover what kind of creature I'm dealing with, if it's a spirit,demon, stealth type monsters or many others.

I once again focus on looking around and moving my head slightly and my eyes very fast I was able to find it, and looking at it I would deduce it to be a spirit and considering that it has a very strong shine on it and a bright green color that is close to lime green, I would say it's a high ranking wind spirit but I'll have to appraise it to make sure. Happily for me there don't seem to be any other type of creatures here. Once when I tried to use this ability I ended up seeing a demon by accident and almost ended up being possessed it.

Luckily I was saved by Mother and decided that using this ability is too dangerous as it seems to affect me making it possible to be in contact with whatever I see and that was the reason the demon could possess me. It's an experience that made me wary of this ability of my eyes.

???:what are you even waiting for?? Get out!

It said very pissed with me, it seems to not want to nearby.

Rayden:I know your there Lamar is it?

I said while looking at his status that is pretty impressive.

Lamar:don't just look at people's status like a perverted brat.

Lamar said with the grumpy mood shown till now.

Rayden:are you some old dude telling me to get out his yard or something like that? Cause if that's it Know that the forest doesn't belong to you.

I said with my usual calm tone and expression.

Lamar:what if it doesn't belong to me, all that matters is you getting out of here.

Lamar said being stubborn and totally ignoring logic.

Rayden: well if I ever need your help I'll come back here, its my condition to leave this place.

I say trying to get at least a minimal benefit from it. You never know how useful high ranked spirits can be.

Lamar:I wasn't born yesterday if you want to impose that I'll have to get something in return for my help to you.

Lamar said with a victory smile and tone.

Rayden:are you-.

Lamar:stop right there, we both know you will get out of here and I'll win so just disappear.

Lamar said with a very victorious expression and tone.

It really pisses me off, but he's right and now I'm not in the mood to go against this guy.

Rayden:you win this one but I'll be back someday grumpy gramps.

I said while leaving the place with a smile even tho he wasn't a pleasant person he reminds me of my dead grandpa he was levels grumpier then Lamar but it was like it.

I leave the place with a nostalgic face, it has been a long time since I thought about this, it's been long since I thought about my family. How are they doing? I hope their ok. Maybe I should ask Erza about it. Well let's leave that for later and just go back.

I went back to the Fiorne, it didn't take too long to get there.

Gate guard:halt! please show your ID.

Not this again. How could I forget to take care of this again, there has to be something wrong with me.

Rayden:well I don't have one.

Gate guard:currently nobody is allowed to enter without an ID, so please follow me to the interrogation room.

Well at least this will get solved fast.

-interrogation room-

Gate Guard:Captain Paul I brought another suspect.

Then he left.

Rayden:hi, Paul how you doing?

Paul looked at me with his eyes saying "why the hell are you here?" and then said.

Paul:Young master Rayden what brings you here?

Rayden:I got sent here again because I don't have an ID.

Paul started rubbing his forehead like a great headache is now hitting him.

Paul:you know all you have to do is go either to city hall register or to the adventurer guild register and you get an ID easily.

Rayden:that doesn't mean I had time to do it.

I said with my calm tone and expression.

Paul:talk about time what have you been doing your hair has grown up?

He asked curious.

Rayden:nothing to do with you. So can I pass.

Paul:just don't come back here because you don't have an ID or I'll really have to put you in jail.

Rayden:that would probably cause a mini war.

Paul:if you know that please get yourself an ID.

Rayden:ok. I will go so don't worry too much.

I left the interrogation room while thinking of a way to bring my Melty, but I can't the magic used there is very complicated with what you would call a level 12 magic circuit in its constitution, if you consider the fact that this world people only have knowledge on level 6 circuits at max for common knowledge and all if I wanted anything like the highest secrets of magic it stops by level 8, so this makes you understand in how much of an disadvantage I am because whoever this people are they are extremely dangerous and what's allowing me to be on them is my <eyes of Gods> otherwise I probably wouldn't be able to spy on their communications with Melty because they have many defense measurements that are all highly complicated and annoying. Seriously the more I think about this situation the more it seems these people are controlled by an otherworlder.

Because this kind of advanced magic and technology seems too futuristic to be made by people of this world but who knows what's true.

After my chain of negative thought was over I finally got to the adventurer guild and I go in.

Inside there are many drunk people with strong physiques.

Rayden:this much is only expected.

I head to the counter that says registration and find a woman attending.

Woman: good night, how may I help? Would you like to register?

Rayden:yes I would, is there a registration fee?

This kind of thing will most likely be paid in a world like this one.

Woman:yes there is its 15 silver for eye registration and please fill in this form.

That is not cheat, poor people would most likely never be able to pay this. I give her the 15 silver and the filled form and she than goes in for a while and comes back with a plastic plate and a crystal ball.

Woman:sorry for the wait, could you please use this to put your blood here.

She says while giving me a needle and the plastic plate.

I grab them and ask what is it for.

Woman:this is so that your magical signature and code get registered in by the magic plate.

After she says that I use the needle to poke my finger making a very small hole in my finger letting out blood and I press that finger against the plastic plate, it starts shining and the woman asks for it once more so I give back to her and she puts it in an unusual machine that gives out a green glow.

Woman:now can you please pour your mana here?

She asks directing it to the crystal ball and I put my hand on it and start pouring some mana making it glow. Then she grabs it all and takes it back in, after making me wait for a while again she comes back with the plastic card that now has the information I filled in and gives it to me.

Woman:thank you for your patience.

Rayden:no problem it wasn't really that much of a wait anyways.

It's true, I didn't wait almost no time.

Woman:now please allow me to explain how things work here in the guild. First the adventurer guild is a neutral organization that doesn't interfere with worldly matters or problems between adventurers but remember that the guild's area is just like the organization considered a neutral area and anyone causing discord, trouble or problems in its area will have to answer for it.

That's a pretty good dynamic.

Woman:adventurers are responsible their affairs with other adventurers and most solve their differences either pacifically or far from the guild, but in case of problems with clients the guild will take responsibility and solve considering both parts equally. Now about quests, there are 3 three main types of quests that are gathering, protection and extermination. In gathering just like it seems adventurers are required to gather, get, find or return an object,pet or even a person. In protection your job is to protect,escort or keep an on something or someone and last but not less important are extermination where you have to kill or slay, something or someone. There are also other types like nominated quests or exploration quests and others but for now this all you need to know as for the payments they are give according to what was stated in the quests paper in case the adventurer did more than necessary depending on the situation if the client doesn't give an extra the guild will do it, in case of materials if you have too many and the client can't or doesn't want to pay for that many you can simply sell it to the guild.

This is pretty much being a mercenary but I don't care.

Rayden:thanks for the information.

It wasn't really that surprising but it's good to be aware of the rules.

Woman:no need to thank me it's my job.

Rayden:well then see you around.

I say while I leave the place.

Out side of the guild I look at the sky and say.

Rayden:it's about time I start building my harem and I know just the perfect first target.

I say so looking at the sky with a big smile.
