7 System

I groggily open my eyes to a pleasant sensation or rather lack of sensation. Turns out I slept until late in the evening and as such my system finished upgrading. Hooray!

If I had to describe this I'd say that finally getting my ability is the thing I'm looking forward to the most with peace and quiet getting a close second place. Although there was one thing I had to make sure of first.

"Are you sure you aren't a defective product?"

[Greetings, Mark. I can speak for Gaia when I say that she would never make such a crucial mistake.]

*sigh* "For now I'll believe you. So? What is my ability?"

[As previously stated it's a growth type ability. Do you wish to enable the ability window?]

Status window? Another term I don't know.

"Can you explain what it is?"

[The ability window is a costum-made window made to keep track of your ability mastery as well as checkpoints that unlock certain strong points in your ability]

Hey, that actually sounds pretty useful. Maybe it isn't so bad after all.

"Yes"

Unlike before where I just heard a voice I can now see a transparent window in front of me.

[Current skills are availible:

Innate ability(Ice): Basic mastery 16%.

Compression (level 3) - Compresses ice, making it more dense.

Frosty aura (level 2) - The air around you becomes colder.

Ice resistance (level 2) - Become protected from ice, taking less damage from ice while ice-induced debuffs are less effective.

Ice creation (level 4) - Create ice.

Ice manipulation (level 3) - Manipulate ice.

Gifted ability(Growth): Low tier

Mentally gifted - Learning ability and Comprehension ability will be multiplied by three.

Physically gifted - Muscles are repaired faster, require less energy, decay slower, require less nutrients and are denser.

Spiritually gifted - Waste less energy when absorbing it from cores or the air. Energy veins will be reinforced. Ability to manipulate energy will be multiplied by three.

Sharing is caring - Ability to give 1 person a less potent version of your gifts.

Am I dreaming? Surely this must be a dream. I pinch myself. Nothing happens except a short burst of pain.

I laugh in dibelief. This is quite possibly the luckiest I've ever been in my life.

I can train my skills(as the system calls it) faster since developing skills are mostly an issue of understanding them, utilizing them effectively and practicing them.

I can even keep my old skills! I see a few levels in them aswell. Probably due to my understanding of them.

Even the physically gifted skill is extremely useful. I don't want to become an energywielding glasscannon. A strong physique is never a disadvantage. Especially since the cores inside us supply our cells with a special type of energy. More muscle cells = more special energy in my body. In essence, the energy doesn't add strenght but rather amplify it.

Unfortunately I can't train my abilities. The energy only appeared on earth after the apocalypse in the form of free energy in the air and in cores. Wait a minute.

"Hey, shi- I mean glorious system! Are my skills from the gift active or not? And if they are- how?

[The skills are active because the ability is artificial. The ability doesn't need energy to sustain itself.]

Phew, then I can still draw the benefits from it in order to better prepare.

Wait, if the the ability doesn't need energy to work what does it ne- NGH!!!!

I stop my train of thought as I feel a sharp pain in my everything.
