Childhood Friends

The black hair girl dragged me to the place that she mentioned before, that's the meadow near the village.

While doing so, I did see some of the scenery of the village. Just like what I expected from this world. It is set in a medieval world but I know that magic does exist in this world as it wouldn't be another world if it doesn't have that.

Although I wanted to explore the village, the girl didn't let her go with my hand and thus I arrived at the meadow.

There I noticed that there was a girl with light pink hair, wearing a white dress as well. Just like them, she does seem to be the same age as us. She was standing there and seemed to be waiting for someone.

Both of us are walking towards the girl and the girl with light pink hair notices us, as she then waved her hand towards us. "Ah! This must be the person that we are supposed to meet, what is her name again? Ellyn… if I recall it right," I thought.

"You both surely take your time to be here…" The girl with light pink hair said that to both of us.

I then get smacked again in his right arm by the black hair girl, "It's all Ceonre fault… I can't believe that he's sleeping even after you told us that you're going to the capital tomorrow. If I didn't come there, for sure he wouldn't be waking up at all."

Ellyn simply let out a giggle, "That's just Ceonre after all, he's a bit lazy and we both know that already. But still, thanks to doing as we could at least spend the remainder of this day together before I move to the capital."

I have no idea what's going on here. I'm pretty new at all of this and he doesn't expect all of this to happen so I pretty much had no idea at all.

"It would be way better if I somehow remembered life in this world… it would be much more convenient," Ceonre said within himself.

But I can't simply leave as he does know about one thing here. Those girls in front of me were my friends in this world even if I don't remember any of it. Besides, I know that it's best to stay as I would at learning who's me in this new world much better. So I decided to just play along to learn more.

So after a few minutes of listening, I learned that both of the girls were my childhood friends. Kinda like that even if we just met like three years ago…

The one that dragged me to this meadow was called Kather Bastion, she was a daughter of a very famous swordsman and came to this village to train the villager's self-defense. Which I had signed up for… That's how I met Kather in the first place and became friends.

The girl that I just met was called Ellyn Riharth, she was the daughter of the priest in the village. How I met her was through Kather… at least that is what Ellyn told when she reminisced how she met the both of us in this village.

And just like what Kather told me before in the shed, Ellyn was leaving this village as her father had been appointed a priest in the capital. Thus Ellyn needs to move there and leave the both of us here in the village.

Also, the reason why all of us met here was that this would be our last time together. As Kather would also be moving soon into another kingdom because of her father's jobs.

But of course, none of the stories kinda explains who I am… though from a bit of that, I could at least figure out that I am not from a wealthy family at all. I am simply a villager in this small village called Rudra.

While I was still thinking about my background in this world…

Kather then held both of our hands and said, "I'm sure that in the future… the three of us will meet again and if that happens, I will make sure we won't be apart anymore. That's my promise!"

No way could have happened… Even if there's a chance that we will meet, it would be very slim. I don't know how large this world is but surely after we become adults, our paths would differ from each other.

At least that is what I learned from my past friendship that is…

But seeing the both of them like this, I can't say that as surely that would ruin this moment. So the obvious move to be made here is just to agree with them both.

"Let's make the promise then, the three of us will stick together in the future," I said to both of them.

"I know that we shouldn't be doing that as who knows what might happen to the three of us in the future but they say that a promise could make us stay alive in these tough times… so I will make that promise with the both of you," Ellyn said.

"Then it settled! We will meet here back when we are adults… of course since Ceonre was the one that wouldn't be moving out from this village, he would need to welcome us here." Kather said that as she smacked me yet again.

"Ouch! Don't hit me please…" I paused for a bit as I then said, "Why would I be doing that, plus there might be a chance that I will also move from this village to somewhere else… so-"

But before I could say any more words, Kather decided to smack me again on my arm as she said, "Don't you dare move out from this village! We don't want it to be a hassle finding you… plus knowing your attitude, the chances of you getting killed is very high compared to the both of us."

Ellyn then smiles as she said, "You never honest with your feelings Kather… you just don't want to see the person you love die right? If you just say so, I am sure Ceonre would be doing something stupid if you say so."

Upon hearing what Ellyn just said, Kather's face began to become redder and the both of us could tell that she was blushing or embarrassed. Though the same could be said of me as I didn't expect that at all.

"What!? How can you say that Ellyn… I thought the both of us decided to keep that a secret!" Kather said that as she was a bit mad at Ellyn for that.

"I am aware of that but it's best to say and just let Ceonre knows about it… Also, I am sure Ceonre already noticed this because we do make it pretty obvious." Ellyn said that as she then turned towards me and asked, "So now that you know? What would you do?"

Standing here, I realize that… I can't decide anything since I don't have any memories of both of them. So I'm sure that I don't have any feelings towards either of them…

Though one thing is for certain, that this all might be the cause of that gift that I took from The Goddess before. As there's no other possible explanation for this… this is all the effect of the Lover's Champion gift.
