Chapter 10:Feeling Useless

Going back to the cell that Valliere and Viviana were in, I teleported back out before getting to where the merchant was.

Getting there, I was greeted with the seen of the merchant, the staff lady, and another two staff members brushing slave crest onto Goblins and slimes. The way they put a slave crest on a slime was on its core. Although the core was invisible from the outside, it still existed inside the slime.

Hearing you walk in, everyone besides the merchant looks at you before getting back to work. Merchant:"Did you see anything else you wanted out there?"

Shomei:"No. by the way, how many goblins and slimes am I getting?"

Merchant:"Oh, I think 20 Goblins and 50 slimes. Patron is in luck by the way, there is 2 female Goblins that we were able to capture. Although Goblins give birth at a fast rate, the chance of a it being a female is very low; most Goblin Villages only contain 1 female per 100 male Goblins and in some place, the average is even worst"

Shomei:"Lucky me I guess"

Looking at the Goblins, they looked like were short green people with large ears and noses. They make and female looked exactly the same and the only difference was obviously their genitals and the fact that the females had breast. Although the female Goblins did have breast, they were small and combined with the fact that male and female Goblins have the same facial structure, one could easily be mistaken a female Goblins for a male Goblin.

Shomei:I not really want to level up and evolve male Goblins. I'll probably feed the male Goblins to the slimes since they count as a humanoid shape.

After a couple minutes, the merchant and staff members finish painting the slave crest on everything I asked for. Seeing me make a portal to transport my slaves surprised everyone, including the maids and guards I bought. One of the maids asked me where the portal went, I told them into my house.

Shomei:... We're going to talk about this later Eva.

Eva:...

Since I still had something I wanted to ask, I closed the portal before someone accidentally falls in or out of it, and ignore the mission I just reserved.

Shomei:"Can I ask for the location of other places I can buy or bid slaves? A map would be nice if you have one"

Merchant:"Almost every town has a place to buy slave? Unless your were talking about a list of the exact"

Shomei:"Yeah... I wanted a list of the exact location of where I can buy slaves in each town"

Merchant:"Ok, I'll get that right up for you. Make sure to tell them Dauid sent you"

Shomei:"I'll do that"

Merchant:"Thank"

Shomei:Eva, isn't slavery illegal in this world? Isn't that why you gave me the mission to save the slaves?

Eva:User is wrong on the assumption that slavery is illegal in this world. Slavery laws are different in this world, but have a common theme.

Shomei:And What is that?

Eva:Slavery is ok if it's not the dominant race or species of a location or there leaders. The User is currently in a Empire that's run by humans, making only human slavery illegal by empire. Although in some locations of the empire, there's laws in placed that make it illegal to own slaves other than just humans.

Shomei:So that's why you gave me that mission. I just need to save the humans.

Eva:Yes and No. I don't have that much control over the missions. The mission is based mostly on the User's beliefs, desire, and situation.

Shomei:... did you have anything to do with my latest mission?

Eva:Not really. I only changed the reward to make myself more useful.

Shomei:...

Shomei:How does changing the reward make you more useful?

Eva:Since i can't really do much besides give information since the User doesn't need my inventory really, with your Inner World being a much better storage and the User could just make a better storage right now by using space and time magic to create a place to store your stuff. Making a storage area that's bigger and better since nothing can ever rot in there. Also the mission rewards right now aren't that useful, the User can create almost anything I can reward you right now.

Shomei:... I guess I can do the mission with the Demi-Human I bought.

Eva:... Thank you.

Shomei:No problem.

Standing there awkwardly for a couple seconds, the merchant came back with the list of slave locations. After taking the list, I left the Merchant's Guild just in case they found out Valliere and Viviana are missing. I didn't want to be near when that happened.
