5 DUEL (FIVE)

I entered the arena and moved towards one corner while my opponent moved to the other, glaring at me with me glaring right back. One of his friends announced that we would have to share our elements with eachother to make the duel fair and to have no surprises.

"water" I stated rather confidently.

"fire and ice" George said smugly.

Then I understood why he showed no signs of fear when I accepted his duel, how could a low, basic element commoner like me defeat him, someone with contradicting elements, one basic, one rare. It was unheard of, I bet he didn't think I had the slightest chance of victory. Especially because I had turned 19 only a few months before school while he was nearing his 20th birthday. He believed that he had had more time to train with his special elements then I had to train my basic one, oh how wrong he was.

The second he mentioned his elements the entire audience went silent, fire and ice the elements are best used against water. Everyone was looking at me like it was the last time they were going to see me before I was brought to the hospital wing. I just stood there, silent, not wanting to be too confident, but not showing any sign of fear.

One of George's friends came out to the center of the arena, put his hand up, then dropped it and dashed out to signal the start of the duel.

The moment his hand went down I was off, gathering the water mana I manipulated it into a full body armour, I became a 10 foot tall water golem and the smug expression on George's face changed immediately.

Up in his office headmaster Alexander was reading one of his many books when he suddenly felt an influx of water mana rushing out from the arena so he decided to shock it out, what he saw greatly surprised him. He arrived in the crown and hid himself (space, sound, time and light element mage that's why he can basically teleport and why everyonerespects and fears him). He watched as the 10 foot water golem tore through its poor opponents small balls of ice and fire, at that point the battle was over in almost an instant. The opponent was knocked on the ground and just as the golem was about to deliver a finishing blow, he jumped out of the crowd trying to block it as he knew it could cripple the student. He blocked it, but to his surprise a small drop of water ended up on his robe. He didn't know if he should be delighted or furious that a first year first day student could get past his barrier, but also furious that the same student was about to use this on a nearly defenseless opponent.

With my golem I punched George's and he flew across the arena skidding on the ground a few feet after landing, running to him, blocking his weak ice and fire balls I readied for a finishing blow, but I decided to play with him a little first as I felt a powerful presence watching me from the audience. I wanted to show off and that is what I did.. I formed a water dragon with my mana and sent it flying towards George, it picked him up and had him dangling down like a fish on a hook right in front of my face. I punched him and he once again flew across the arena, running up to him preparing for a final blow,, i drew my fist back utilizing quite a bit of my mana i threw the punch.Just as it was about to connect I felt a great defensive power coming from beneath it and heard in the headmaster voice "ENOUGH".

I looked to see what had happened and standing over a now unconscious boy with what I assume wasn't water on his pants near his groin was an elderly man who I recognized as the headmaster of the school.

"You, come with me" he shouted angrily, and suddenly we disappeared from everyone's sight, we were in an office, with books all around that had a distinct smell of ink and paper.

The old man took a seat behind his desk and offered me a relatively stable wooden chair to sit on. I accepted and we sat down. He looked me up and down and said

"this is a lie detecting crystal" he pointed to a clear rock on his table that looked a bit like a paperweight. "don't lie, I will know."

" name"

"leo"

"element"

"water"

the crystal turned a dark shade of red

"element"

"water, ice"

the crystal turned red again.

"last chance kid, what is your dawned element." he shouted

"all of them" I replied quietly

"what was that" he asked

"all of them" I repeated, a little louder this time.

The crystal turned bright green and the headmaster eyes widened.

"why didn't you inform us of this?"

"I don't like attention, I just wanted to live a normal school life."

"while that is understandable I will need you to be trained in every element by our faculty, you will be the pride of our school, once you graduate or decide to reveal yourself that is."

The headmaster asked a few more questions

"when did you awaken"

"1" I replied, seeing the crystal turn red, I quickly added month.

"more and more surprises"

he continued

"when you absorbe mana, what color is it?"

"well, I can absorbe all of them so I guess rainbow."

"are you sure you want me to keep this a secret?"

"yes" I replied instantly

"ok" he sighed, snapped his fingers, and suddenly I was back in the arena being declared the victor of the duel and leaving to my third class of the day, power rankings.
