4 chapter 3

What a headache

was what I wanted to say.

I was seating in a velvet red armchair dressed as Eira, Kevin stood by my side. In front of us was the princess's governess, she wasn't a really important character in the novel so I should be fine but what she was subjecting me too was even worse than Kevins.

We were in town that day, I had read the description of it from the novel but frankly being there in real life was even more fascinating. Every street was filled with gardens and flowers, stalls were set up in the town square selling vegetables to magical items.

I was definitely going to visit them just in case I can't escape my tragic death.

As the carriage strode through the streets, I noted the tension between the governess and Kevin.

Lets just say I can't even find a word for it. The novel never mentioned anything between them so maybe this was just the empty note of it.

Anyway, we stopped at an expensive looking neighbourhood in front of a shop. I was escorted out and dragged into to meet a spindly looking man who introduced himself as Mr couture.

what a weird name

After that, the governess took the lead.

She introduced me to numerous dresses , most of which were HIDEOUS. I felt mortified was she really asking me to wear all those dresses, I rather go corset fitting than wear those dresses.

As time went past, I felt my smile slip deeper and deeper as she got more dresses for me. I looked at Kevin, same position. The final stand was when she picked ' TRASH'.

I didn't know much about girls but this was something that was a DEFINITE NO!

Even by modern standards, the design looked quite...bold. To think I'd see something like that in this era... The dress used quite a number of different colored silks: Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. The design looked like it was meant to resemble a rainbow. Aside from the garish color combination, the shape of the dress itself was quite something to behold. The puffs on the shoulders were big enough to hide watermelons inside them, and the neckline had a massive amount of fur on the trim, enough to look like the mane of a lion. The designer said this was the dress was all the rage right now, but I'm sure he just showed to get rid of it...

" Please stop!" I said, putting on a novel protagonist front. " I think this is enough for today isn't it, so I don't think there is a need to buy anymore." I said as politely as I could.

The governess simply looks at me incredulous. " Your highness,do not worry. The princess budget is enough to buy the dresses." I looked at her, thinking if she was stupid or something. I stand up, Kevin looking at me as if thinking i was trying to do something which was exactly what I was about to do.

I walked over to the corner. Of which I opened several boxes to reveal several dresses. Taking them out, I examined them one by one. They were modest and simple resembling victorian clothes.

"I think I'll pick this" I said as I showed them a sleeved dressed with a cravat. Its design simple yet elegant at the same time. " You know what I'll pick the rest of these as well. You can leave the rest." I say as I handed the entire box plus the dress onto the designer. smiling as I walked away taking Kevins arm.

As we got back to the carriage. I slam the door shut drawing the curtains closed.

" what are you up to." grumbled Kevin as he sat down.

" Lend me your clothes."

"what!"

" I said lend me your clothes."

I sneaked a look through the window before turning to him.

" I need a pair of men's clothes. Anything will do as long as I get out of this dress."

He looks at me curious. " for what?" he asked.

" To explore."  with finality I start removing the wig. Realising what I was going to do, he looks out of the window before digging underneath the seat to reveal a cloak.

" Here take this. I am not lending you my clothes but I can give you this." said Kevin before shoving the cloak at me.

I smile before opening the other door.

" I promise I won't be long." I mumble as I left.

" He better be." said Kevin as he sat back down on the chair before removing a necklace from his pocket. " ya...he better be..."

( Timeskip)

draping the cloak over me, I look around in wonder.

This was wonderful.

Maybe reincarnating isn't so bad.

walking around, I noted a stall that sold all kinds of magical items. Just as I was examining what seemed to have been a magic tracking device. Someone bumped into me.

I turn around only to meet another cloaked figure. I couldn't see his face properly but he had long blonde hair reaching his shoulders, his skin was pale and smooth. For some reason, he reminded me of someone but who?

" excuse me." the figure said. His voice was young ,smooth and surprising polite ( must be rich). I merely walked to the side allowing him space.

As I inspected the device I couldn't help but eavesdrop on their conversation.

" Excuse me but do you have a bottle of Dragon tooth oil."

Dragon tooth oil. Isn't that for magic enhancement. It's not easy to learn how to use and the only person that could possibly use...

" Sure do. What's your name lad."

"oh well it's Xan."

It was then my face paled.

Xan . of course that's the nickname for Alexander Briar. A prince from Briarwood kingdom and one of the hero-princes.

shit

holding down my hood, I slowly walk away.

Thank goodness, I removed my wig but that doesn't exactly mean much since I have the William's face now.

" Sorry about before..um.. what's your name?" asked Alexander as he steps forward.

Panicking I said, " Lukas!" before running away, pushing myself as hard as I could to return to the carriage.

Once I reached back, greeted upon the site of Kevin lazing on the seat with a book in his hand( how did he get that?)

" Can we get out of here NOW!"

( Meanwhile back at the stall)

Alexander simply stared into space.

What the heck had that been about?

And how rude running off like that.

Placing the bottle of dragon oil into his sleeve pocket, walking away towards another end of town.

A Green carriage greeting him.

" is there something wrong your highness." said a escort. The escort was a youthful-looking man with chin-length, brown-purple hair that framed  his face  as well as  pale skin and violet-colored eyes.

Removing the cloak to reveal a slender young man with shoulder length blonde hair framing his face and sparkling blue eyes. His ears were pierced with blue earrings. Giving a wearing smile, he simply shakes his head as he closes his eyes.
