1 Prologue: A Spell To Turn Back Time

One of the greatest mysteries that man can never solve is the CONCEPT OF TIME...

It's free yet priceless. Can't own it yet we spend it. Once lost can never be gotten back. It's what we want the most but what we use the worst. No one can control it yet it controls all.

Shredded and battered by regret we tend to lose focus on the important things. We forgot the fact that says; where there is life, there is hope. Those are one of the most beautiful gifts ever given to us...

Life and hope...

That's what we can say for this chapter of the unfinished book...

The dry cold wind braces through the battlefield as the cries of men echoed, reaching the heavenly tops. Swords clash with an itching desire for bloodthirst dubbing the plains and with a strike, a fresh metallic scent fills the air.

Another has fallen...

An Empire has crumbled...

The ending of a tragic story...

It's a chilling scene to remember...

The once lively blue sky was painted red. Red as the blood-stained ground of faithful warriors which had another pitchy darkness to it.

The heart-aching scene was that of the massacre. The massacre of what used to be a thriving Empire. One after another, nation after nation, each falling to their demise. The overdue hope in their eyes had long been extinguished like a flame in the wind, cowering in the fear of the unknown.

In those dusty terrains, laid the decaying corpses and memories of the warriors who fought tirelessly to the bitter end, these brave men and women fought brilliantly to protect those they love, the nation they pride themselves on. Their devoted hearts - something to be proud of - now lost its beats, fighting for those things they held precious to them. Only to be disappointed by those who claim to be on their side, those they put their trust in. To find out for one to truly win you have to deal with the demons within before you can confront those on the outside.

Fear, not the enemy that confronts you with a knife but instead a friend who creeps up behind you and smiles.

In an age of war, you will see gruesome things that could shake even the strongest of people. In this age, people lose all kinds of dignity and result in cheap dirty methods that lack any ounce of honour even in a confrontation. Such people don't have the grace to be called human beings.

The plaguing darkness and the scent of death lingering in the air shriek the fear of the people. Its presence alone can make the fiercest of wolves cower and reduce to nothing short of a farm animal... maybe even worse.

The constant worrying if this day would be your last made their heart shrink the more. The fear is so thick you could taste it.

This... This wasn't supposed to happen. They weren't supposed to end like this.

Since the creation of this world, magic has existed as a tool to survive, a main part of our everyday life. Being that said as the saying goes; in every darkness, there is a light and in every light there is darkness, thus brings us to the cycle of life.

As long as others are using magic for good, some use it for evil.

In those shadows awaits the undoing of this world.

Behold,

A forbidden spell was cast, altering the alignment of the stars thus bringing chaos unto the world. The fate of the world had been changed without anyone noticing until destruction and havoc was widespread.

Allies now rise against one another. Nations are at each other's throats, waging deadly war where there are no survivors.

The beautiful world that we once knew was now a desolate plain filled with blood and dead bodies, along with the cries of suffering people.

The minds of people have been corrupted. Evil surges through their veins. Power-hungry...

The handy work of the dark forces...

In the end, the course of destiny has been changed. The artificial destruction of the world was foreseen prophecy. That's what happens when blood-stained magic has been used to change the fate of the world. The worse thing to do is to use black magic to paint the destiny of others, it will only lead to destruction.

Chiming as The Grande clock hits twelve and the midnight overshadows the sky. It was afternoon a minute ago, not like anyone would notice yet the sudden time change was evident. This abnormality isn't something seen every day. Not even in a magical world...

Right on top of the clock tower, pure light poured into the scene. Its mere presence was warm and relieving like a controlled sun. This warmth was something the world had lost a long time ago.

The light simmers down but it's overpowering self remains constant. What appeared shocked everyone to their bones.

Standing on top of the clock tower, was the Queen though not just any Queen but the Fairy Queen. Her radiant self-bloomed in the ever dark sky of the night.

Her resolve was stronger and firmer to the core.

'This mistake cannot be made twice!'

Gathering the last remaining fragments of her strength to cast a spell...

A spell that many have tried and failed...

A spell that only the heavens can approve...

A spell to turn back time...

"The crying hearts of the people has been heard loud and clear.

Death and destruction have been forcefully imprinted on the world. This gruesome fate of the world is not one to turn a blind eye to. People are suffering just because of the mistakes of others.

How unbearable.

The last hope of this world has fallen to their knees dancing to the tune of death. Hopeless is what we can call the situation.

But no! This cannot go on any further. It won't end like this. We won't stand for this. We won't allow it to end like this again.

The clock will move backwards. Time will reverse. A place to where it all started. A place where it all began... A fate like this will not happen once more. Not again. Till the last breath, till the very end! We will fight this cruel fate brought upon us. Evil will not take over once more. A soul of one of the most powerful people of this world will be chosen. A one in a million to rewrite the stars, someone to unveil the mask of evil and stop the world from plunging into darkness once more. The evil forces will cast their spell once more, this time the fiery flames of light will burn a hole into their plans.

It is already seen. Kestramore, the most powerful and thriving empire, the root of it all, which contains both the light and the darkness, will be the battleground. I hope this time, you will change our fates. Dear Dragon prince".

With that, the clock moved backwards. Time had reversed, going back to where it all began.

The beginning of it all...

The memories are beautiful if you don't have to deal with the past. The burden of starting again is painful but a necessary move.

With a grave smile and aching heart, looking back at the sky that was once heavy and dim was now lively and cloud free. As too the ground that was filled with bodies is now blood free and the air was fresh again. The corners of the city where people use to hide for the sake of their lives and the common land desolate was now a lively empire living on with their daily lives like nothing ever happened. The flowers bloomed wonderfully under the radiant sun. Things look beautiful again yet... they are not.

'This is the past and not the future... just because it's beautiful now doesn't mean it will be beautiful then. Dragon Prince, I'm counting on you'.

Within an instant, her hopeful eyes turned sad.

The thought of the past was something painful to her. The memories were painful. The experience was painful. The thoughts were painful. Everything brought back a sickening feeling to her stomach.

Within a second, an image appeared in her mind automatically causing her to teleport there too.

Her eyes and expression grimaced at the sight. The tears could not be held back. She knelt on the cold marble floor. Painting the image of the small sleeping figure permanently into her mind, staring at her by the bedside before taking action, to gently caress the figure and slowly place her in her arms. Whispering her last words to her, smiling a smile that can warm the iciest of hearts.

"Even if there wasn't a happy ending who would have thought there isn't a happy beginning either? I see destiny has a thing with trampling on our happiness.

*bitterly chuckles*

I'm sorry it had to be this way. What I'll do to have you in my hands once more. Losing you the second time is even worse... I have failed you once I will not fail once again. You have a long journey ahead of you... Be prepared I wish you best of luck. And please always remember that I love you, my dear daughter...

Herza."

Who would have thought the end is the beginning of the future...
