9 Chapter 9: The Greylash Family

Kuromi came from the kitchen to welcome him.

She asked "How was your test? Which affinities do you have?"

"The test was great. Everyone was surprised by my result. I have two affinities-Fire and Lightning." Eren replied.

His mother smiled and went back to work. He too left home for practice.

'I think I want to make my body strong. So that it can handle an attack without many injuries.' he thought and started training his body.

By circulating mana, the body can be made powerful but it will be only for a short period. To make it permanent, one must keep the mana stored inside flesh, bones, etc. It's not simple.

Eren spends the rest of his days with his mother and training. He advanced well in physical training. Now he had abs and looked muscular unlike before. Even these muscles cannot hide his handsome face. He still made girls fall.

The last day before he wants to go to the academy.

"Mom, tomorrow is the day I will go. Please be okay. And also come to see me in the academy. I will surely make you proud." Eren said. He was pained that he would split from such a loving mother.

"It's okay. Don't cause trouble. If you can't stay there come back" Kuromi said amidst tears. She was crying nonstop.

They both had lunch and talked a lot. They talked about Attie's childhood, his naughtiness, etc. Eren couldn't help but tease Attie who was inside his soul realm.

They talked until it was late. Before going to bed Eren asked a question "Mom, when will dad come?"

Hearing this, Kuromi didn't know what to tell. She was at a loss for words. She kept silent.

"It's okay. You don't need to reply. I just asked because of curiosity. I didn't want to hurt you. By the way, can you please tell me my full name?  You still hadn't told me it" Eren asked.

"It's okay. You didn't hurt me. I just don't know when your dad will come. Your full name…..It is ….. Atesh...Greylash…. Your full name is Atesh Greylash. But I warn you don't say to anyone your full name until necessary." Kuromi warned.

"Ok, mom. I will never say my full name. But can you tell me why?"

"It's just that there is something you shouldn't know. At least now. I will say you one thing. If you are ever in any life-threatening danger, go to the city lord's office and tell your family name. He will help you. Just think that we have ties with all city lords. " Kuromi informed him.

'Something is fishy. What is mom hiding?' He thought inwardly. But he replied, "Ok mom, now I am going to sleep. Bye".

He then went upstairs and fell into bed.

He thought about his family's background. He knew(thought) that his mother is weak and didn't have any support. But now he felt something is amiss. But he couldn't put a finger into it.

He thought for a long time. He also discussed with Attie about this. Attie also didn't know anything. Since the day of leaving his home was tomorrow, he decided to sleep.

"Zzzzzzzzzz"

"Zzzzzzzzzz" 'zzzzzzzzzz'

Both the consciousness slept.

The next morning.

Eren packed his clothes and all other necessary accessories. Ha was ready to go to the academy. Now, he was waiting with her mother for Lyrica to come.

He didn't have to wait for long. Lyrica arrived in a short while. She then looked at him and was surprised to see his body change so much. She then looked at his mother, she was shocked but didn't say anything. She understood it wasn't the time to say.

Lyrica turned to Eren and said. "Go and visit all the places you want to go. Let me talk with your mom". Eren left as he didn't feel it was surprising.

After Eren left.

"Madam, what are you doing here? Is he your son?" Lyrica asked with the utmost respect but there was fear hidden in her eyes.

"He is my son, Atesh Greylash. Make sure that he is treated well. You can say his identity to your leader. But don't say about it to him. He still doesn't know." Kuromi Greylash replied.

"Okay, mam. Young lord will be taken care of by me. But why are you hiding here? With your power, you can easily kill even the king.?" Lyrica asked curiously.

"I am hiding so that I can safeguard Attie. Also, I don't want to wage a war by killing that stupid king." Kuromi said in disgust at the mention of the king.

Now Eren came back and was ready to go. When they saw him, they stopped talking and his mom waved at him.

Now, Lyrica and Eren went away leaving behind only Kuromi.

"Hey, you come here. Keep an eye on him. Don't let anything happen to him. Or else I will kill you" Kuromi said to a shadow next to her. It was a person who is extremely good at hiding.

"Okay, my lady" he then went to follow Eren. No one was able to find him.

Even though Eren was once a god, he couldn't sense that shadow because of his low strength.

Kuromi then went inside the home and continued living as if nothing happened.

On Eren's side

"Senior, when will we reach the academy?" Eren asked.

"Hmm. It will take about 2 days. We can take a rest in the town nearby and continue our journey" Lyrica Replied.

"Can you tell me about the academy?" Eren asked curiously.

To this, Lyrica smiled and said.

"Our academy is mainly composed of Nature Affinity members. There are also Lightning members. But people who have dual Affinity are rare. There are only about ten dual affinity students. You are the first one who has Lightning and fire Affinity. You are also once in an era prodigy having both your affinities with violet grade. Even I am jealous of you".

"What are your affinities, senior?"

"Firstly, don't call me senior. You can call me Lyrica or any other nickname. I have an affinity for Nature and Lightning. Since I also have a Lightning affinity, I can help you with training. I will also give you new techniques and special care."

"Thanks. From now onwards, I will call you Lyri. It's pretty cute right?" Eren asked mischievously.

"Heh! I like that name …. Lyri. It has a nice ring. You can call me that. "

"Lyri, you look stunning. I think you are the most beautiful women I have ever seen in my life." Eren said with a serious face. He inwardly thought 'hehe time to start courting her.

Lyri blushed and said, " don't butter me up. Anyway, thanks for your praise". She then walked not daring to look at Eren.

'Yes! It worked. Now I can advance to her slowly. She will be mine and only mine.' Both Eren and Attie thought and laughed. They were thinking of their date and other times!
