4 Chapter 4: Training Grounds

Kendrick took a closer look and saw Jredd being raped by Alissa. His eyes were filled with apprehension.

Jredd, who was wearing a big smile before, is fighting back tears in the corner of his eyes.

Kendrick decided to feign ignorance about it and returned to the toilet.

Then, as if for the first time, he yelled the young man's name as if he just returned from using the toilet.

"...Jredd!! Where are you!?"

He waited for a minute, then another minute passed.

Jredd emerged from the corner in a rush. His clothes were wrinkled and all over the place.

"W- Why did you suddenly summon me, young master?"

He appeared to be unaffected by anything. There were still some teardrops in the corner of his eyes that he hadn't wiped away yet.

Kendrick acted to be unaware of what had occurred and asked Jredd a question.

"Are there any training grounds nearby...?"

Kendrick wished to erase the image of what he had just witnessed with his two eyes from his mind. That's why, the next time he's alone, he wants to pass time by with a new hobby.

Since this world was that of an otome game, they likely have a training ground and an armory as well.

Jredd was bewildered, feeling a little alienated by his young master's request because it should be apparent that Kendrick should already know the way to the training grounds.

Jredd abandoned the useless thought and escorted his young master to the training grounds.

The training ground was enormous. Much larger than Kendrick's former house, which was quite a comparison, to say the least.

There were decorations next to each other, all of which were furs of mammals. Some of the heads belonged to beasts Kendrick had never seen before. In the corner, there were wooden weapons such as axes, swords, spears, shields, greatswords, and so on.

Kendrick drew a wooden sword. It was a mediocre selection.

Jredd wasn't startled by this; he was more stunned that his young master was finally picking up a sword.

Ever since he was eight years old, he had been monitoring his young master. His young master was a pleasant and friendly character. But, after his mother died of an unknown illness, his young master began consuming alcohol, although he was only twelve years of age. He also began acting like a nasty hoodlum, and when he got drunk, he knocked up several legitimate bandits outside the manor with his fists, submerging himself in the stench of their fresh blood.

Despite this, his young master had never been to the training grounds. He stated that he wanted to strengthen himself on his own.

Jredd is overcome with emotion. His mind was racing with images of what had occurred earlier.

Kendrick lifted his blade and swung it forward, not knowing what Jredd was expecting or thinking of.

He could feel his hand trembling as if it hadn't been used to swinging a sword

'Dear lord, this pathetic body.'

Even though it hasn't even been a day yet, he is beginning to already miss his original body.

'I used to be able to swing my wooden sword for 12 hours without stopping, but now I don't believe I can manage a few hundred swings.'

Kendrick clutched his blade tightly in his grasp.

Simultaneously, he recalled the body he had taken.

Dan Alastair. One of the villains who will fall in love with the protagonist. Unfortunately, his wild and cruel demeanor turned him into the main character's enemy rather than a love interest who stood with her.

In the game, Dan Alastair was a psychopath. He could vaguely remember Dan Alastair's beautiful smile as he beat up the crowned prince in one of the ceremonies. His expression as he licked the blood trickling from his fist was equally disturbing.

Back then, the crowned prince was supposed to be powerful enough to defeat a royal knight. When he battled Dan Alastair, he even had a sword in his hand. But, in the end, although Dan Alastair just had his fists, the crowned prince lost to him.

Kendrick frowned as he surveyed his figure.

'Seriously, it's this frail body that overpowered that crowned prince's unrivaled power?'

He honestly couldn't believe it. He couldn't understand it after seeing how feeble his body frame is currently.

Nevertheless, it is what it is. Despite his weak physique, Dan Alastair somehow overcame the crowned prince in the end.

Kendrick dropped the notion and quietly muttered, "I am going to change... I'm going to change everything from now on."

Jredd, on the other hand, misread what he was attempting to convey.

As he glanced at the back of his young master, Jredd grew emotional once more. His young master promised that he'll change, and so, Jredd decided to serve his young master wholeheartedly starting from today.

Of course, Kendrick was thinking of something quite different.

'I'm not going to wind up as a maniac like Dan Alastair! I'm going to avoid every incident that comes along and enjoy my life in peace! I mean, I'm wealthy now, so it's probably wiser to live in peace than wind up in the middle of the storyline...'

'I'll just find a method to return to my previous world in the future...! I am confident there is a solution! Definitely!'

He hadn't given up hope of returning to his former reality, even though he might not be possessing the same body he had there previously.
