The Established Prologue

[World System: In accordance to the user's first wish, you have been reincarnated into the world of {That Time I Got Reincarnated As a Slime!} as you so desired...]

[World System: In accordance to your second wish, a personal growth system that is completely exclusive towards you will be implemented in order to supplement your growth...]

[World System: With the third wish of acquiring the {Predation} skill, being the unique exclusive skill of the main protagonist Rimuru Tempest of the story {That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime!}. It is impossible to acquire, as it is a one-of-a-kind skill, meaning that there can only be one existing user possessing the skill at a particular time in existence...]

[World System: The System has then decided to come up with another alternative option by giving the user with a skill of similar properties and effect to the skill {Predation}...]

[World System: The exclusive skill {Plunderer} has automatically been generated. You are able to selectively choose a chosen skill of the designated target that you either killed or subjugated to be plundered (taken). The {Plunderer} skill can only effectively work upon the designated target once, otherwise, it would then become a broken skill ability...]

With that being said, it definitely took me some time for myself to finally regain consciousness. As by the time that I woke up, I tried to opened up my eyes, but all that I could see is plentiful of darkness. Or to be more accurate, it's more like I couldn't open them up, as I have none of them in the first place.

'Huh?' I thought so to myself, whilst slightly bewildered about the current ongoing situation.

'Didn't I just die, when an unexpected Stagecoach Bus due to an unfortunate mishap of the bus driver or road accident had accidentally nose-dived into a nearby Starbucks store?' I thought.

Whilst, slowly recollecting some pieces of memories that I could steadily remember at the time of that accident.

'I was sitting by myself near the glass window area, whilst still on my phone, at the time of the incident. When the Stagecoach Bus then suddenly barges in through the frontal area of the Starbucks store, as the glass from the store's window then shatters and pierces my own body. I then started to rapidly bleed out...'

'My own body was then trapped underneath the fallen rubble of the broken part of the Starbucks store. And by the time that the Ambulance had actually arrived on the site of the incident. I would have already lost a significant amount of blood, to readily end up at death's door, by a couple of inches. I then later died in the Ambulance van due to some complications with breathing, etc.' I recalled. Everything after that is a blank and afterwards, it's all just a fuzz.

However, in between the moments that I've actually lost consciousness and still awake. I could somehow instinctively hear the sounds of something, autonomous and monotone, kept ringing withinside my own head.

It sounded like a young woman's voice, but too unemotional and detached. It's kind of like a text-to-speech program. It sounded so fake and artificial that people would literally think that it was not made from a real person, but a robot.

'If what I recalled from my own memory is true, then if I were to say something like 'Status' or 'Open Interface'. A blue rectangular screen would then automatically pop up shortly afterwards.' I thought so to myself.

I didn't really expect it to actually happen, but it then turned out to be true, as a light blue holographic display screen panel later appeared in front of me. Which completely startled me, what I didn't expect that was a figment of my imagination then turned out to be true.

'That can't be. Of all the creatures that I could possibly be reincarnated into, why exactly does it have to be a simple Earth Worm? Even a mere goblin, housefly, or fish is a whole lot better than this.' I thought so to myself, whilst anguished at the sudden realisation that I've been reincarnated as a simple ordinary Earth Worm. The tragedy. Oh, what a tragedy.

Despite having learned the obvious fact that I've just recently been reincarnated as a simple ordinary Earth Worm. It didn't take really long for myself to just recently adapt and get steadily accustomed towards my newly acquired body.

As the simple body of an ordinary Earth Worm is more less complex than the average ape-like human. As all you have to do is simply contract the muscles withinside ones own caecilian-like body, and then let the hydraulic fluid network of it's own biology then steadily do it's own work.

So when the long caecilian-like body then uncompresses, it unfolds its own body up, thereby creating a forward momentum which then steadily pushes itself forwards towards its own head region.

Ding!

The sounds of the World System message notification then kept ringing withinside my own head, as a familiar blue virtual display screen interface panel then later appeared in front of me.

It would seem that the current environment that I am currently living within has plenty of organic matter. A purposely created suitable environment for housing, raising, and nurturing plentiful of Earth Worms for the sole purpose of creating a natural dirt soul fertiliser.

More than likely, I'm most likely to be in some sort of compost bin. A natural organic recycling machine, where the Earth Worm and other pest-like creatures that would usually infest gardens. They would then eat away at the organic food waste and trimmings, and then steadily produce natural organic waste such as excrement, which naturally enriches the dirt and soil with nutrients. Thereby becoming plant fertilizer.

[World System: From a random thought of action that you have committed. You have accurately guessed the current state and the location of your own environment, thereby gaining recognition from the System. Your Intelligence attribute stat has permanently been increased by 0.1 point!]

'Oh, that's interesting.' I thought so to myself, as I then continued to eat at all of the surrounding organic food waste within the area and then steadily steadily turning them all into my own free experience points.

A minute or two later, I then heard the familiarsed sounds of the World System message notification kept ringing withinside my own head, and the desired virtual blue display interface screen that I've been expecting, finally appeared in front of me.

Ding!

'Well, Status!' I then recited the keyword withinside my own head in order to open my own personal {Status Screen} board.

After examining the recent increased of my own stats, due to levelling up. I then suddenly come to a realisation about something. 'Although, levelling up does surely increased my own stats points, but it won't surely do much of a difference if all it does is increase the base stats by a total of 0.1 points.' I thought.

'Hmmm...' I thought so towards myself.

It was then that a sudden idea then suddenly pops up from withinside my own head. 'What if I just invest the only 1 unallocated stats point that I've gained from levelling up into Strength to see if that even makes a difference.'

The moment that I thought of that, the Strength attribute part of the stats attribute panel of the Status Screen board is then highlighted by a rectangular box. It then became enlarged, thereby opening up a miniature blue virtual display interface panel, on top of the existing one, but this time. It has the (-) (+) located at the side of the Strength attribute stats number value.

Since I have no actual fingers to even press upon the (+) button of the current blue virtual display screen interface panel. The only option that I have at this moment is to move my point of focus towards the (+) button and then say 'yes' withinside my own head. Hoping that the System would then recognise my own input decision.

[World System: You have invested 1 unallocated stats points into Strength. Your Strength attribute value has now risen by 1 point... 1.4!]

The moment that I've actually invested my only unallocated stats point into the Strength attribute stats. I then immediately noticed that my own physical Earth Worm body has then become noticeably alot stronger, as I was then easily able to dig through dirt and soil a whole lot more easier than before.

With that said and done, I nevertheless then began my ceaseless journey of grinding for experience points in order to levelled up my racial level and the skill level of (Decomposition) & (Digging).

Ding!

It was then, without warning, that the (Vibration Detection) skill that I have had inactive for quite a while, has now become active. As I could then actually sense the vibration and movements of another worm-like individual steadily moving withinside this confined compost bin space, and it is seems to be quite actually close by too.

'It would seem that the (Vibration Detection) skill even has its own bare limits. With the range of detection being extremely small, even up close, and being in a somewhat solid environment where sound is actually expected to travel than in air or water. However, the skill level of the (Vibration Detection) skill is only 1.' I thought so to myself, whilst contemplating upon what to do about the current ongoing situation.

It was then that the unknown unidentified creature nearby had finally took notice of my own presence. As, out of curiosity, finally decided to then change its digging tunneling direction and steadily heading for my own particular direction.

'Now I wonder if that said creature is a hunter (predator) or prey.' I thought so to myself, as I then braced myself for impact.

A few seconds later, the noise and rumbling of dirt and soil uplifting could be heard, but since I don't actually have any ears. As all that could be felt from this, is the strong rumbling of the uplifted earth, detected by my (Vibration Detection) skill ability.

The figure of the unknown unidentified creature could somewhat be made out, as an orangey-brown head, with soft mandibles, could somewhat be made out by the readers and the audience of the novel. A yellowish-white worm-like body in the shape of a letter C, but strangely enough the odd creature seems to have legs.

Despite the unidentified creature still being withinside its 1st stage of its own larvae state, the creature seems to have six equal leg pieces like all other insects, but it is not all spread out evenly. With all six leg segments being readily attached to the side of the creature's head.

There can be no other creature on Earth that is quite similar to this current specimen than the average garden Grub Worm. The larvae stage and in-progress development of an Earth Beetle.

The unknown creature that somewhat resembles the common average everyday garden Earth Grub Worm then digs through the dirt, manoeuvring through the ground soil at a much faster paste than I do, as it is nearly inches away from my current location.

The Grub Worm is curious as to whether I am delicious and tasty or not, as it then readily slithers up to me and then opens up its own small pair of soft mandibles ready to launch an attack at me.

And it only took one action from the identified Grub Worm for me to then determine upon the spot whether it was friendly or hostile, as it then readily took a small bite out of my worm-like body. The soft mandibles of the identified Grub Worm then lightly attach to my worm-like body, before readily clamping down hardly, and then immediately taking a small chunk of flesh out from my own body.

Immediately, afterwards, I then felt a sharp pain steadily rising from a small region or a part of my own worm body, which I know is being bitten by the Grub Worm.

'It would seem that the unknown entity is quite hostile, and only now see me as a potential food source.' I thought so towards myself.

I then thought, 'Despite having just been reincarnated into this world. Things were just starting to get a little more interesting. Surely way better than my previous last life. There is surely no way that I am steadily giving up such a life, without at least trying.'

Whilst, the Grub Worm was busily slowly chomping down upon my long worm-like body. I then steadily curled and then wrapped my long worm-like body around the Grub Worm's body, in a desperate attempt to bind and then strangle it to death.

The Grub Worm then loudly squealed, whilst wriggling its own body out and about to no avail, in a desperate attempt to get me off of its own body.

I then began to tighten my own grip and hold over the Grub Worm's body, whilst steadily squeezing the air and oxygen out of its own lungs, which is quite a long and tedious process.

It was then that I suddenly heard the familiarized sounds of the World System message notification ringing withinside my own head, as a holographic blue virtual display interface screen panel then soon appeared in front of me, thereby showcasing me my current progress.

Ding!

[World System: Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree. The skill (Wrapping Lv.1) has been acquired!]

'Oh, it looks like I somehow managed to obtain myself a new skill.' I thought so to myself, as I continued to desperately strangle the Grub Worm to death with my own body.

After acquiring the (Wrapping) skill, I then somewhat immediately noticed that it somehow got slightly easier in order to restrain and then constrict the Grub Worm's body, with my own.

I then heard the familiarity sounds of the World System message notification steadily ringing withinside my own head, as a blue virtual display screen interface panel then later appeared in front of me.

Ding!

[World System: Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree. The skill (Wrapping Lv.1) has thereby levelled up and become (Wrapping Lv.2)!]

'Oh, this is not the end of it. Status!' I thought so towards myself, as I then recited the keyword withinside my own head in order to steadily conjure up my own personal status screen board.

'Invest all remaining unallocated stats points into the strength attribute stats.' I said so towards myself, as the World System then immediately recognises my own input decision and then invest all the remaining unallocated stats point into the Strength attribute stat.

[World System: You have invested 1 unallocated stats points into Strength. Your Strength attribute value has now risen by 1 point... 2.5!]

As the moment that the World System had actually successfully increased my overall Strength attribute stat, I then suddenly felt a sudden strong burst of vital energy, as all of the muscles, fibres, and cells withinside my own body were suddenly reinforced. Having grown slightly tougher, stronger, and more durable even.

In under a couple of seconds, the live squirming body of the Grub Worm then began to creek under intense pressure, as the somewhat soft developing exoskeleton of the Grub Worm then began to show signs of cracking. With the internal organs, guts, and the inner body parts of the Grub Worm then began to somewhat leak out from the developing cracks within the Grub Worm's exoskeleton.

And after a few more seconds later, the soft exoskeleton of the Grub Worm then finally gave in, and then completely collapsed in upon itself under extreme pressure from my body constriction. The internal organs of the Grub Worm were completely crushed to a pulp by my own constriction, thereby dealing a major fatal killing blow to the Grub Worm.

The Grub Worm then immediately lets out an ear piecing death defying scream, before eventually breathing its last breadth, and then dying out.
