14 Mysterious x People (Wasteland x 2)

"Leorio!! Kurapika!! You guys should get up here--in front!!" Yukana and Killua deadpanned at Gon's stupidity and naivety.

"If we could, we would!" "Idiot!" The two of their voices were far behind them, but still audible to the three.

"Hmph, no sense of suspense." Killua and Yukana looked back at the three having a full blown conversation in the fog.

"Try harder!"

"Yeah right!!!" The two sensible children deadpanned at their stupid and oblivious behavior.

"The fog's getting thicker." The fog was indeed closing in on them. To the naked eye, you could probably see only 10 meters in front of you.

Suddenly, strawberries began falling from the sky. Yukana looked back to see a giant tortoise emerging from the ground and biting a few examinees. It had many trees with "strawberries" falling from it.

In the area Gon, Killua and Yukana were in, the three could hear screams coming from behind them, signifying a few deaths and how serious the exam is.

"Those screams! Way out there!" Gon was naturally concerned for the victims of deception in the wetlands.

"Lost, tricked, gone!" Killua stated the obvious, the polar opposite of Gon and his innocence.

"Sheesh, we should keep it moving so we don't have that happen to us." Yukana was concerned for the small bonds he made with Leorio and Kurapika.

In another area of examinees, they began to speed up in fear of losing their direction and getting killed. The ground shook, confusing the lot before the outline of an opened frog's mouth made itself apparent in the soul. The applicants had barely any time to scream as the head of a giant frog popped out of the ground and bit them in one gulp.

More deceiving animals and plantlife quickly showed themselves as massive amounts of prey. There were birds that spoke like humans, mushrooms that legitimately exploded, even butterflies that put people to sleep.

"Oh yeah, we are definitely getting the the heat now." A small smile made it's way onto Yukana's face as a result of his absurd "desire for the impossible".

(A/N: shut up narrator)

'Hope Kurapika and Leorio are okay.' Gon thought.

"Gon."

"Gon."

"Gon!!" Killua and Yukana broke Gon out of his thoughts after a couple times of calling his names.

"Huh? What?"

"Don't space out, you've got your own worries." Indeed, they did have their own concerns. Yukana was feeling extremely uncomfortable because of his horns going haywire and telling him that danger was everywhere around him.

"For instance, the fog's so thick we can barely see the guys ahead of us. If we get seperated, that's it. We're swindler chow." Killua kept saying the facts of their situation. "If you don't hear your friends' screams, figure they're still pumpin'."

'Not necessarily... They could have made no screams before they...' Yukana felt some bad memories resurface but shook his head to get his mind off of it.

The three ran in silence for a while until, "YIIII!" The scream of Leorio was heard in the distance.

"Leorio!!!"

"Gon!!!"

...

"Holy crap, does he have a death wish?!" Yukana exhaled a large gasp, slowing down slightly while running.

"Kana, look out!"

A large wall with eyes running along it erected itself in front of Yukana, seperating him from Killua as he struggled to stop running. "Keep running, I'll catch up later!" Yukana didn't even know himself if it would be true.

Yukana stood on high alert for a few seconds. Slowly turning away from the fog, he unsheathed Shokubai Akaza and attempted to slash the wall.

'Shokubai Hikagura, First Tenet-'

Yukana was about to run through the wall while slashing but it suddenly opened a hole and he fell through. What greeted him was a pair of green and yellow eyes.

"Holy Man Hakuji. you think this is him?" The green one said. She had long and straight green hair with razor-sharp mouths ranging across her body at random places. The mysterious green girl also wore a nun outfit with green highlights. She sat in a praying position as the hole in the wall closed.

"Oi, don't swear on the Holy Man's name like that." Yukana's eyes darted to the right where a pair of yellow eyes awaited him. The tall man had a bowl cut with blonde hair fading into a deep orange. He donned a priests' outfit but with orange and yellow highlights. He is tall and had three pairs of arms.

Yukana's first instinct was to roll backwards, where there was, thankfully, no wall. "What the hell? Are you two examinees?" The question rolled out of Yukana's mouth before he could stop it.

Yukana's question was completely ignored by the two. "Hey, doesn't he look like the Queen?" The green-themed one said.

"Stop assuming. Just cause it's an S-class mission doesn't mean he's related. Look at him, he looks like a bum!"

'Now!' Yukana thought. At their lowest point in time, Yukana ran to where he believed he was going earlier, but in turn, ended up where Hisoka was "clearing out" a bunch of examinees.

"Oh? We have a new visitor~" Hisoka's creepy voice resounded into Yukana's ears as the creepy man noticed him.

"Just you four left." Hisoka pointed in both directions, to where Yukana noticed Kurapika and Leorio standing with some martial artist. The only one who was harmed was Leorio who had blood leaking from his bicep. Everyone besides Hisoka was tense.

"Hey... When I say go, we split up, got it?" The martial artist whispered to the two near him. "It's our only hope! Know why? Because he's a homicidal maniac! An entire army could be backing us up and we still wouldn't have a chance against him." The man was sweating profusely.

"You guys have your reasons for wanting to be hunters, and probably don't like the idea of running, but it's our only sane option!" The three tensed up as Hisoka got nearer.

The three tensed up, waiting for the cue. "GO!" And they dashed off, but Yukana was left confused.

"Smart move. Hey Kana~ta-" Yukana shivered in disgust at the way Hisoka uttered his nickname. "You know Machi is both sad and angry you left. Who knows, she might lock you up in her room next time she sees you."

Yukana was left no time to respond as Leorio walked out of the fog, now with his tie wrapped around his bleeding arm. "Don't strain your brain. I'm not the sort to just suck it up..." Hisoka grinned slightly.

"... Without a quick payback!" Leorio charged towards Hisoka with vigor as Yukana did the same, but Leorio had a thick stick in his hand.

"Hmm... I like your spirit." Hisoka was suddenly behind Leorio as both of their eyes widened in horror. Hisoka reached back to hit Leorio but the lure of a fishing rod smacked him in the face.

Hisoka was stunned by the sudden attack. Whether it was because of some weird Hisoka thing or from legitimate shock, we will never know. Though, it was probably the former.

"Gon?!" Both Leorio and Yukana shouted out in relief. Gon was slightly out of breath for how fast he was running.

Hisoka snapped his head towards Gon. "Not bad. A fishing rod. How original. May i see-"

"Hey! Forget somethin'?!" Yukana internally screamed, the two were supposed to do a surprise attack but Leorio ruined the surprise with his yell.

POW! POW!

Hisoka, once again, ended up behind the two. He socked Leorio in the face and chopped Yukana on the back of the neck, effectively knocking them both out. Leorio did an entire flip with how hard he was punched, while Yukana was jerked forward.

Yukana's last thoughts before seeing darkness were, 'Goddammit, now I'm gonna have my booty stolen by a perv!!!'
