1 Chapter 1: A Letter from a ROB
Okay, First things first, My name is Michael. I am an Otaku. I love anime, Light Novels, Manga, and fanfiction. I normally spend most of my time playing D&D, watching movies and anime, or reading. Right before I got back to my apartment, I stopped at the good ol' Barnes and Nobles. I got the new Highschool DxD Light Novel. I have seen the anime, read the manga, and looked over the wiki.
Now I like fantasy worlds, but something I like even more is seeing easy problems getting fixed. I mean seriously, doing one minor thing could make your life a hell of a lot easier. Like if Buffy killed Spike early on or, you know, asked for some help, things would have been so much easier. ...I'm getting off-topic. Anyway, I sat down to read the whole DxD volume 1 and went back home.
Now imagine my surprise when I went to get my mail. I know, seems unrelated, but when I get the mail, I expect a few things. I expect there to be bills. I expect there to be junk mail. What I did not expect was this letter addressed to me.

Now, although I appreciate it when someone sends me an actual letter that they wrote and will make sure to read it, this looks like some sort of prank by one of my D&D buddies who want me to LARP with his group. Thinking that this was the case, I tossed the rest of the mail aside and sat at my desk to open the letter.

Are you an Otaku? Do you love all things anime? Ever wanted to go to one of those worlds? Well, this survey is for you! While normally you would have the choice to pick a world, so many have already been picked over, this survey is for the world you refer to as Highschool DxD! ...What did I just read? I've read fanfictions with a similar start, but never in the form of a letter. This is quite the prank. Might as well see what this 'survey' is all about. Let's see, 5 questions.
[Question One: If you could go to the DxD world, how would you want to arrive there? Please be as specific as possible.]
Easy. Being reborn and my memories awakening at age 4. That way I would have time to train and would not have to go through 4 years of not being able to do much of anything. I've seen enough fanfics to know that that is not a good road.
Let's see, I'd like my name changed to Malthael Beleren. I would also like my family to be magicians so they could protect themselves.
Have them be a part of Golden Dawn. That way I should be able to join, giving me a fairly high chance of meeting Le Fay early and maybe even Meredith Ordinton (the Alpecca Tyrant wielder). Plus, I should be able to find some good talents there to add to my team.
Finally, I would like to live in Kuoh town; be near the protagonist and all that.
[Question Two: When do you want to arrive?]
Also, simple. I want to be born 17 years before cannon, meaning I'd get my memories back 13 years before cannon. That way I'd be the same age as Issei and most everyone else and a 2nd year Student at Kuoh Academy.
[Question Three: What race would you like to be?]
Although there are likely many people who would pick Devil or Fallen Angel, I'm going Human. I mean, seriously, Vampires have bigger sticks up their asses than Young Masters in cultivation novels, the races of the biblical faction hate on each other until Issei came along, and all of the races have a problem with Half-humans.
[Question Four: What Sacred Gear would you like? You may not take any Longinus. If none of the known Sacred Gears interests you, you may customize your own. If you choose to create your sacred gear, it will be the first time it has appeared, thusly only its standard form will be known and not Balance Breaker.]
Okay, this one's hard. I think I'll go with the custom option. While the other Sacred Gears are awesome, and I wouldn't mind Annihilation Maker, which in my opinion is the strongest Sacred Gear (change my mind), I want to go the magician route. Plus, I can't even pick a Longinus! Goodbye Annihilation Maker, although we never even meet.

Well, first things first, since I want to start as a pure human and a Magician, I should have my Sacred Gear be able to lead me to become one of the best magicians. What is the best thing for magic? Increasing your total amount of mana? No, I should focus on learning. Getting more mana shouldn't be the hardest thing. If I could have a form of what the Superpower wiki calls Magic Intuition, my power would be set.

Answer: A Custom Sacred Gear
Name: Alpha Stigma
-1st Form-
Appearance: a white pentagram over a red iris in the form of a magic circle.
Ability: Analyzation - Automatically and Intuitively analyze and understand most things. This ranges from being able to know what card is going to come out of a deck of cards next to being able to instantly use any magic the user has witnessed.
Side Note: Does not have to original Alpha Stigma weakness of going on a rampage when activated.

[Question Five: You get an additional 3 mid-rank wishes. What will they be?]
Listen. I don't want to be a cheat. OP as hell, of course, but not a cheat. It sounds fun, but what would be the point if everything just fell in your lap. In this case, my wishes will be simple:
-Magia Erebea
-Highest-grade Magic Talent
-Highest-grade Senjutsu Talent
Boom!
My Sacred Gear plus this magic talent will most likely make me into the 2nd coming of Merlin, but still making me have to work for it.
For the Senjutsu talent, technically humans can learn it (as shown by the DxD Sennin), but can't learn it that well. Plus, being able to possibly recreate Ki-based powersets would be interesting.
Last and certainly not least, Magia Erebea. This alone grants me so many perks. It Grants Immortality without changing race (Once completely mastered), increases strength across the board, absorbs spells to make the user stronger, and can even take on the properties of certain spells. The possible corruption that can occur from the spell should be almost null and void from proper Senjutsu practice.
Now the final question.

Once I circle my answer, everything goes white. If there was an outside observer, they would have seen a blinding light flood the apartment. Once the light died down, there was no letter anywhere and no Michael.
