19 Pass or Fail?

The bright light shining through the large glass windows painted the room in a serene shine upon them. Before her stood four powerful figures who looked otherworldly in the daylight's light embrace, it was a picture-perfect shot from heaven.

But Lilith didn't know the same thoughts were surfacing in the four heads, sharing one thought in mind that the child before them stood there with confidence and pride looking like an angel in the shining light.

The silence was broken by the headmaster as she spoke a spell to cast the start of the examination. All but the headmaster now stood before her, each overseeing one exam each.

It seemed that the first one was going to be Professor K's, as he stood in front of the 2 and announced to Lilith, "Your first test, examinee Lilith is a simple written exam, you have 45minutes to finish. You may start now."

Immediately a chair, desk, paper, and pen appeared before her, without hesitating Lilith started answering the questions, one by one they were completed neatly and quickly. Though it was getting tougher by every question, the test looked as if it wasn't going to end. Every time she would finish a page it another would show up, Lilith came to the conclusion that the test was rigged and the only way to pass the test was to figure out the loophole or to break the loop. She sat there seemingly continuing answering the questions but in actuality, she was looking for clues or any mistakes that would hint to breaking the loop, without the use of her magic. As she wanted to keep her profile lowkey and out of trouble, and after minutes more of continuous searching her long-anticipated "mistake" showed itself.

Fully knowing that the castor of the illusion spell, Professor K, himself would eventually make a minor mistake as he tried to keep the illusion up whilst she was continuously answering questions like a machine. He would have to consume so much energy trying to hold on to the perfect illusion and the continuous papers, for any human they would eventually make a mistake not to mention Professor K, no matter how good you are no living being has that much energy to cast high-level spells for a long period time.

And finally, he slipped up, it took longer than her calculated time but she still managed to spot it and target it with her air magic as it was a relatively common magic affinity her image wouldn't change from useless trash. The use of applying her air needles to create pressure on the opposing castor, Professor K, leading him to collapse his illusion, where now the real test paper lay in front of her. And just like it never happened Lilith continued answering the questions without noticing the weird look Professor K gave her as he observed her movements still internally shocked that she broke his spell without his notice, he really underestimated her and her scary analyse ability. The first time he thought he gave himself away and that she was just lucky to notice but this time she proved his theory wrong and continued to surprise him with her capabilities.

"45 minutes are up. Examinee Lilith has passed in the Written Exam. You may proceed to the second exam." And as he finished his words the desk a chair she was on disappeared. Replaced with a potion station full of equipment used for potion concoctions. Lilith stared at the station before her, she wasn't experienced in making concoctions, she could identify the herbs back in her previous life but these herbs aren't ones from her previous life. A voice broke her trance, with her attention-drawing towards the young woman who had spoken, "To continue please drink the small vile before taking the second exam," Miss Woods said warmly with a smile.

Looking at the purple liquid within the small glass vile, Lilith had feelings of unease, she New that the concoction was poisonous, she could tell from the smell. She was hesitant to take the concoction as she didn't know how she would make an antidote until Lucifer's voice came through "hey little girl, it'll be alright. Take the potion, But remember to only take half of it. Use the other half and mix it with my spirit water. You'll have your antidote but the problem is that they can't find out about it, if they do they might use you and manipulate you to do their bidding. So be incredibly careful and cautious, use your spatial magic to alter the space around you to make it seem like your making the antidote, I trust you have the ability to do this little girl." Lilith remained silent as she listened in, quickly digesting his words. Following his words, she slowly drank half of the vile before her and remaining silent as she waited for the test to begin.

"Examinee Lilith Rosie Carter. You have passed the written exam and now are going to begin the potion concoction exam, before you are all the ingredients and equipment you'll need to make the antidote. The test requires you to identify the various herbs and ingredients and concoct an antidote to neutralize the poison that is currently in your system...You may begin now." Miss Woods said sweetly with an equally sweet smile reaching her eyes.

Immediately Lilith began looking at the herbs, looking busy like she knew what she had to do. All was silent in the hall as Lilith seemingly was preparing the antidote, using the equipment just fine. But in actuality she was just mixing the spirit water that she had gotten from her contract with Lucifer to create the antidote, calmly watching as the bubbles began to form and the colour of the liquid had changed to a beautiful bright blue. Lucky for her the heads didn't take notice to when she had casted her spatial alteration magic and just continued to watch "her" actions of concocting in amazement. Mind you casting spells generally, has a giveaway, even the most skilled magic castors can't completely hide their spell casting as; one, it needed to be said or chanted. Two, the use of one's magic affinity will always surface when performing a spell, take healing and light magic, for example, the castor who uses a spell related to these affinities would either have small sparkles, glitter or a warm yellow candlelight glow around them or their hands.

For Lilith, since she had mana manipulation magic, it allowed her to have full control and rein of her powers. And one skilled she learned after the 10years of continuous practice she was finally able to use her magic silently and invisibly.

1 hour had passed, and finally, the altered image of her concocting the antidote was finally done, as it disappeared after taking the antidote, Lilith stood perfectly fine as the antidote had already done its job half an hour ago since she had immediately had taken it after the spirit water had fully combined with the "poison". She had already found out through Lucifer about the supposed "Poison" it wasn't even strong at most it would make you have terrible stomach pains, and the effects were supposed to kick in after 5minutes but I hadn't felt a thing. Mainly due to the fact that in my previous life I had gotten shot and beaten up pretty badly multiple times so a little stomach pain was barely felt, I guess I had a high pain tolerance cause of my past and 10year training.

For the last ten years, I had been training my magic, physical strength, and endurance to the extreme. My body has been through a lot and if not for my elder sister Leona's healing magic my back would be covered with wounds and scars from all the brutal training I underwent.

I honestly didn't believe that my father was the famous "Unkillable General" or the supposed "War King" as he was always so soft, caring, and fun to be around. But boy I was wrong, when I went under his hellish training, trust me when I say that I'm so grateful to had experience from my previous life to help me otherwise I would've have broken multiple bones, been skewered to death or brutally beaten up in a hand-to-hand combat session. Thankfully my training was over now that I was going to attend the academy but I will never forget the terrible things I was forced to endure it, honestly, I think it would've been easier if I just walked through hell then back that's how bad my experience was.

"It seems that Examinee Lilith Rosie Carter has successfully concocted the antidote to the poison, congratulations you have passed the Potion concoction test, you may now proceed to the last exam from the vice-headmaster of the academy." Miss Woods says happily, you could hear the excitement in her voice as she stepped back to allow the vice-headmaster to come forward and start his test.

"I hope your ready, Lilith Rosie Carter. Your final examination starts now!" His voice boomed through the room as the three heads disappeared from sight and what replaced them was a wild demonic beast. Upon seeing Lilith it began growling and stalking towards her, pinning her down with it's gleaming red eyes filled with blood-lust, but even in a situation like this Lilith stood there calmly looking at it directly in the eye, completely lost in thought.

The three heads noticed this and were looking on curiously at the mysterious girl, "How could one be so calm with a demonic Hellfire Warthog metres away from them? Not to mention that she's only 15...I'm really curious to see how this plays out." The vice-headmaster spoke firmly as his full attention was placed on Lilith, trying to figure out what she was thinking in that exact moment. Only the headmaster watched silently with a small smile, anticipating the good show that would be put on.

But just as the Hellfire Warthog was charging at her, Lilith stood there blankly not moving. Her face, emotionless containing no signs of fear or worry at the oncoming beast it was if it didn't even exist in her eyes.

The distance between the two,

from 4 metres to 3...

then to 2...

then 1.

But still, she stood there calmly staring down the demonic beast, with only one objective in her mind.

The three heads were at the edge of their seats, itching to see the end result.

What would she do next? Would she figure it out? Or is she putting up a façade? What is she going to do? Is she going to stay frozen? Was she about to die?

It would happen in...
