18 16. Game on!

Today's the day.

I'm attending the Academy of Magic, Epiphany Light Academy, but due to the request of King Dalias, I didn't participate in the debut when I reached the age of 6. So, technically I haven't debuted into society yet...

And this action caused many rumour's to surface about me, most being that I was useless, ugly a total disgrace compared to my lovely, beautiful sister. These rumours honestly made me question the stupidity of society, but I wasn't too bothered as my family was more upset about it than I was. Felix on the other hand was extremely happy and glad that I didn't mind them as he saw it as a good way to keep all potential love rivals away, which I found a little funny.

Overall it's really was a strange predicament, the only problem was that many girls were extremely upset that I was betrothed to prince Felix, even when the whole kingdom was afraid of him, it didn't stop the girls from swooning in his presences as he was indeed very handsome and had great power.

Which I don't have a problem with, besides the fact that they hate me because he was extremely cold and indifferent to every female he met, clearly drawing a line between them. With the exception of me...he only showed interested in me and would make time for me no matter how busy he was and many girls felt infuriated that a supposed ugly, useless girl caught the eye of a prince. This gesture of his was part of his attempt to win me over and had occurred ever since we were little, it really left a deep impression of him in heart, so I finally accepted his advances of allowing him to court me properly...

Anyways as of right now though, I'm currently in the headmaster's office as requested upon my arrival. I was informed that since they were unclear of my skills and abilities, they were going to put me through an examination to determine what area I would be in and classes I would be attending.

The school's system is a little special, every student is to take classes in magic but other classes aren't mandatory. Such as Swordsmanship and Combat, Knighthood, Horseback, Archery, Literature, Languages, Painting, Dancing, Music, Business, Politics, Strategies and War.

There are also departments for these classes being that of the Department of Magic, Department of Combat, Department of Art, Department of Culture, and the Department of Societies.

Each department is ruled by a Headteacher and a student director, though the headmaster does have the power to over-rule everyone. The student council at the academy, only rules over the student body from all years that also means the student directors but the student council are only for seniors whilst the student directors can be from any year.

Coming back from my gathered thoughts, I felt a weird chill in the room as I wait silently. Someone was monitoring me...and have been for a while now. I sneakily look over at the far right corner of the room, judging room my small analyse of the room when I entered. The design of the wall which had originally been cut of at a 3rd in the corner of the room was now cut in half, someone was their currently and didn't seem to notice their mistake. They were watching her silently whilst placing an illusion or closing spatial area with their magic.

I wonder what they are watching me for? I thought about it quietly concealing the fact that I had already discovered the watcher and continuing as if I wasn't aware of their presence.

This went on for a while until I gave up, sitting still in a chair without moving was honestly so boring that after 3minutes I was done. I had enough of the person's staring and finally broke the long silence.

"May the gentleman in the corner please show yourself with proper conduct. I'm sure you are aware that staring and making someone wait for an hour before finally showing up is rude." My words were said leisurely as if I was casually talking to a friend, this would've been received poorly by the other party if not for the way I addressed him and the formal tone that was used.

"Ah, I see. You're a sharp one, aren't you? You seem to have already noticed my presence the moment I had appeared into the room, do you by chance possess any teleportation or spatial prowess's?" As the rough but cheery voice was finishing, a charming man in his late 20's showed up in a clean, neat grey suit. He was indeed very good-looking and had a sophisticated aura around him similar to the CEO's I had killed back in my previous life, the large window behind him only added to his looks, as the bright light from the sun made his hair and face glow.

"What if I do? What if I don't? it really has nothing to do with you as you aren't even the headmaster." I said sharply looking straight at him, tracking the slightest movements, I continue as I see him still relaxed and calm, "Why did you send me to this room just to wait for an hour, then go to the trouble of confronting me just for your superiors to sit and watch our interaction behind a screen? Don't you think that's a waste of time, Professor K?"

Finishing what I had to say, I leaned back in my chair and gave him a 'do you think I'm stupid look' and just sat looking at his calm expression cracking as he probably didn't expect me to talk so bluntly and figure out who he was.

He was silent for a while. My guess what that he was talking to the other 3 who were watching, I knew they were going to test me and I came fully prepared. The moment I stepped off the carriage at the front gate and was told by a "Guard" to come here I already knew something was up, this guy here was a Shape-shifter, he had the powers to shape-shift and cast illusions. Looking at him I wasn't even sure that right now this was what he really looked like but I couldn't care less. As of now they probably figured out that I'm not just some normal girl and that I'm much more capable than I appear.

It was also thanks to Felix's quick explanation of the superiors of the school that I was able to deduce who this man was in front of me was. The man in front of me was Professor Jack Klaus known as Professor K, he had powers to shape-shift and cast illusions. How I was able to identify him was from the small 'K' tattoo located at located on his left wrist, it was briefly shown to me twice, once when he was the guard helping me off his cuff lifted and I caught a glimpse of the 'K', the second was when he sat down opposite of me, as he was crossing his arms the motion allowed me to catch another quick glimpse. If I was an ordinary person who wasn't trained in infiltration and had lived the life of an Assassin/Agent I definitely wouldn't have noticed any of these things, I rarely show my abilities as I'm too lazy to deal with the attention or consequences, so normally I go unnoticed when in a group.

What's best is that I get to enjoy my free-time lounging around and eating all the sweets I want. As no-one wants to associate with me I get to live a happy care-free life but now that I'm studying at the academy things will definitely change. I hope whilst my stay here it won't me to chaotic and troublesome.

Whilst being lost in thought, the sound of someone clearing their throat brought back my attention to the man before me. I raise my brow in question as he looks at me, seeing my action he starts speaking, "I see that you are someone who is alert and sharp-"

"Excuse me professor but it's actually just me being aware of my surroundings," I say innocently like it wasn't a big deal and that I didn't just pour a cold bucket of water over him when I exposed everything in broad daylight.

"*Cough* Ah, I see well then...I have spoken to the superiors and they say that we'll continue this in the examination room. They and I will be personally overseeing your examination so, shall we go?" He continued with no problem at the sudden interruption, after he gestured for me to follow him through the hall.

At his request, I quietly followed him through the hall until we reached a large wooden door designed with golden vines. We entered and were greeted with the sight of 3 figures, one older man who looked to be in his 40's and the other two were beautiful women, one who looked to be in her mid 20's and the other who looked to be in her mid 30's. All gathered in the centre of the spacious room, the bright light given by the large levitating chandelier located right above them. The room was truly elegant and didn't look like a room where examinations took place, it was much like a ballroom for dance classes then an examination where it would require room.

Upon the sound of our enter the 3 figures turned towards us, they especially paid close attention to me...

"Hello there sweetie, I am Morgana Hearts the headmaster of Epiphany Light Academy. You may address me as Headmaster. And these are my colleagues..." the middle women spoke, she wore a beautiful long red dress matching her fiery red and orange long hair. She wore a simple gold necklace with an interesting ring in the shape of a heart.

She gestured to the right of her towards the older man who had a very serious yet warm look and continued her introduction, "He is Carson Key's, he's the headteacher for Combat at the Academy and is also the vice headmaster of the Academy. Fun fact he also coaches the Yuriki kingdoms army force. To my left..." as she was introducing him, I wasn't too surprised about the position he held as he looked to be very experienced in combat and warfare. He was very well built and had a tough but powerful and serious presence like an army general.

Looking to the headmaster's left towards the young and elegant women who resembled a fairy I continued to pay attention to what the headmaster had to say, "To my left, we have Miss Jasmine Woods, who is our head of welfare, culture, and arts. She is also our head nurse here at the Academy." The said person was an average height, with beautiful long brown hair tied neatly into a ponytail. She wore a fitted white coat, a plain white blouse with a small ruffle at the buttons which was tucked into a tight knee-length grey A-line skirt and cute black heels. She had a fresh yet glamorous aura, accompanied by her fairy-like face, she was truly one of the most beautiful women I have laid my eyes upon whilst my life here. I heard from Felix that she's quite popular among the male students whilst professor K was popular among the female students.

Speaking of him the headmaster pointed to him as she finished introducing Miss Woods. "And I do believe you have already been acquainted with Professor Jack Klaus who is in charge of the Academy's Magic and Societies. Now shall we begin your examination?" The ending question was met with silence as she gazed at me with slight anticipation at how the exam will go.

Hearing her question I could feel a smirk forming on my face as I look directly in her glistening eyes with my own sparkling ones. Responding in a clear voice full of confidence and challenge "Game on."
