46 Weapon Spirit

After the chaotic energies somewhat settled down and the heaven's took away Arthur, the soldiers on the ground were baffled. They had rushed out thinking an enemy had came but then the enemies vanished into thin air. Then there was an explosion in the far distance that was so large that it could be felt from thousands of miles away. The heavenly laws were rippling like a pebble dropped in water across the skies and the Qi and elemental energies had become a little unstable.

Arthur was carried away by the heavenly laws and he had no way to resist. It's power was vast and mysterious like a vast ocean covered in impenetrable fog that's impossible to look into. Space warped and he traveled through a spatial tunnel before exiting the other side.

Then the memories suddenly cut off there. I was brought back to reality by the loud yelling of Katherine who was shaking my body and yelling in my face.

Getting up, I realized I was on the floor unconscious. I slowly got up and stayed in a daze for a bit before regaining my senses. The galaxy had disappeared and returned to it's previous appearance.

"Hey! Are you awake? Why are you sleeping on the floor?" asked Katherine who had changed her dress into light clothing.

I slowly got up and my cloudy memories began clearing. Finally remembering what happened, I couldn't help but enter a deep thought and ponder for an hour before being awoken by Katherine's fierce anger.

"HELLO~~~?! ARE YOU AWAKE?!" yelled Katherine who had veins popping on her head.

"How long was I out?" I asked.

"Out? I came out of cultivation to see you passed out on the floor," she said folding her arms unhappily.

The room started shaking and debris fell. A wall against the hallway suddenly began opening like a door.

"The hell? I didn't expect a hidden room," said Katherine who's mood returned to normal. I didn't expect one either as I thought I had carefully searched the place.

The rumbling stopped and what was revealed was a darkness that appears right in the doorway. Ancient and Qi slowly permeated out into the surrounding air.

Getting up, I slowly moved my body around and stretched since being stuck in one's memories for hundreds of years was like being paralyzed and not able to move. I looked at Katherine and she looked at me. We both approached the entrance and carefully looked into the darkness.

I went first and descended down the stairs that led downwards. Katherine followed behind and we traversed the flight of stairs that continued to descend in near total darkness. The ancient Qi and aura grew the farther we descended.

Soon, we reached the bottom and entered a huge room. There was only one object in the room and that was a sword in a scabbard laying on a stone platform that sat in the middle of the room. This was the exact same sword that Arthur had used.

"Inheritance?!" yelled Katherine in excitement. But she was smart enough to hold back and be cautious.

A chime rang out in the room. Although I didn't feel anything, Katherine's face turned pale and she swallowed back her blood and some pills.

"It seems as though I'm not destined. I'll wait for you outside," she said as she gloomily left, seeing him not affected.

Every step I took, a chime would ring out and but I was unaffected. Standing in front of it, I reached out and my hand touched it.

A suction force pulled on my soul and before I knew it, I was pulled inside the scabbard. Looking around, I was in a horrible volcanic mountain range that was constantly spew out ash and smoke with most life being non-existence except for some fire lifeforms. But looking up, I saw the weapon spirit that floated in the air with an energy body that was dense with ancient Qi and power.

"You must be the chosen one my master mentioned a very long time ago," he said as he deeply gazed at me.

A divine sense ran through my body that was so powerful and deep that I wouldn't have noticed it if I didn't have devour. It felt like my soul was being looked at and no place was spared. Even the devour laws were helpless.

"There's no Dao on you. You've only devoured," he said as his face turned gloomy.

"Senior. Dao is almost non-existent in the Immortal Realm. The heavenly laws and space are so weak. Qi is dissipating and it's near impossible to ascend past divine," I calmly replied while being a little respectful.

"What? The Immortal Realm hasn't recovered? I haven't checked the outside since I was told to not to do so before the chosen one arrives," he mumbled before sighing. Raising his head, it seemed as though he suddenly peered through everything like they weren't mysterious. His face turned dark and anger seemed to be visible.

"Those shameless sea tribes! Even though my master annihilated them, what they've done is still there!" he said as his anger rose. The volcanoes seemed to get more violent with his emotions.

"How bad is it?" I asked, being respectful.

"Bad? It's horrible! Back then, those bastards surrounded the entire Immortal Realm in countless amounts of oceans. The heavenly laws shattered under the pressure and destroyed almost all life. Then they invaded and slaughtered all those above the saint realm and left mortals to die. Only when my master got strong enough did he retaliate and annihilate their sea tribe."

"But the heavenly laws are so weak that a saint realm could fly up to them and easily shatter it. Space and Qi is no exception and the heaven's are producing barely any trace amounts of dao. The thousands of star collisions in that one area millions of miles away has made the situation hundreds of times worse. Not only has the barrier between the surface and lava world been crushed, it has begun invading the surface world."

"Lava world?" I asked.

"There exists a lava world below the surface where countless lava cultivators and monster exist. The barrier's too hard to penetrate, but they would exit and invade a billion years ago when they had the chance by volcanoes. If it wasn't for Immortal Realm becoming a water world, then they'd have invaded and taken over the Immortal Realm by now."
