When all three of us finished scarfing down our breakfast, Sam finally came downstairs. Her hair was in a messy bun, she was wearing a black tank top, and I'm pretty sure her shorts were stolen from one of the twins. She eyed us running up the stairs, "What are you all up to this early in the morning?"

"We're just going up to Alice's room," Alec told her.

Sam yawned and continued wobbling down the stairs, "Have fun I guess."

The three of us stared at her for a few seconds in awe of how messy and unorganized she looked before rushing up the rest of the stairs. Stumbling into my room, I slammed open the door. Which in turn startled Loki and he sprang up on the pillow and hissed, "WHAT-"

Not letting him finish, I scooped him into my arms and whispered into his ear, "Act like a normal cat, my brothers found out about your existence."

He placed his paws on my chest and meowed. Good, he understood the assignment. When I turned around, I saw my brothers standing at the doorway waiting for me to give permission for them to come in, "You guys can come in."

Alec speed walked over to where I was and peered at the cat, "This is Loki?" He leaned closer to Loki and squinted his eyes, "Now that I've gotten a closer look at him, he looks more like a rat than a cat. Small with a thin tail and beady looking green eyes."

I looked down at Loki and I could almost feel the rage radiating off of him, so I stroked his head and cooed, "Don't pay attention to Alec, Loki. He was probably dropped on his head as a baby by a nanny or something to not be able to realize your magnificence." I ended that sentence with a big fat smooch on Loki's forehead. Loki let out a high pitched wail of anger and annoyance, which I ignored for the time being.

Alec scowled, "Hey! I was not dropped on my head by a nanny! According to mom, it was a nurse!"

Jesse spluttered out a laugh, "Alice, now you know why Alec and I are so different from each other. One was dropped on the head, the other was handled carefully."

Just as I was about to answer, Loki leaped out of my arms and onto Jesse's shoulder. Then he proceeded to launch himself at Alec, which effectively forced him to fall backward. Manuvering like the graceful cat he was, Loki gently landed on Alec's chest and calmly sat there while licking his paws. He had a smug look on his little face.

My brother was still laying on the floor, probably slightly dazed at the thought of getting knocked over by a cat. I walked over and squatted down near his head, poking his head. I taunted him, "And that's what you get for saying my cat looks like a rat."

He grumbled, "But he does," he got up and brushed himself off, "I guess this is what they mean by love makes you blind."

I folded my arms across my chest, "Then you must really love Loki to be blind enough to compare him to a rat."

Jesse waved his hand around, "Enough with the rat cat talk, tell us about how you got him. Where did you find him?"

Before I could answer, Loki let out a meow and glared daggers at me. The message 'don't you dare mess this up' was written clearly across his face. I nervously cleared my throat and muttered quietly, "The park?" Noooooo, I coud have said the shelter, why oh why did I say the park? Now they're going to ask if I've taken him to the vet to check for any deseases, fleas, and whatever else cats have.

Helplessly, I looked over at Loki, he facepalmed and gave me a look that read 'dumbass', he then covered up the facepalm by licking his paws and stretching.

Just as I had assumed, my brothers started asking me questions, "Did you take him to the vet? Has he gotten his shots yet? What if he has a disease? What if he's carrying fleas or ticks? Is he still a kitten? Is there a mutation that caused him to look like a rat?"

The last question earned Alec a smack over the head from Jesse, "Enough with the rat thing. When are you going to stop?"

Alec rubbed his head and muttered, "It was a serious question though, cats shouldn't look like whatever that is," he pointed at Loki.

Jesse sighed, "Anyway, ignoring that. Alice, have you taken Loki to the vet? If you haven't, we should do that as soon as we can."

Should I lie? But what if he asks to see the paperwork? Knowing Jesse, he would definitely ask for proof, "Yeah, let's do that. I never took Loki for a check up because I never had time." Although, I don't think he needs one, he's not a normal cat afer all.

My older brother, the one that didn't get dropped on his head as a baby, nodded, "Alright, I'll get the car, Ale-" He sighed, "I'm just going to go by myself, you can deal with that."

I looked over to where Alec was, Alec was trying to hold Loki and Loki had his little front paws smushed against Alec's face and his hind legs against his chest trying to put as much distance from himself and my brother. Turning his head in my direction, Loki let out a meow that sounded like "save meEeEEeee".

Stifling a laugh, I walked over and took my slightly tramatized cat from Alec, "Stop pestering the poor animal."

Alec shrugged, "All I wanted to do was say sorry."

Looking down at Loki, I snickered, his little body was shaking with either disgust or rage, or maybe both. I heard him mutter, "I hate that man, how dare he touch me without my permission…."

Stroking Loki's fur, I gestured for Alec to follow me, "We're going to go see a vet. I never brought him to get a checkup."

Following along, Alec rubbed his chin, "Are you going to get him castrated?"

As soon as the last word left Alec's mouth, I felt Loki's body tense up, he hissed viciously and clutched my shirt. I looked down at him, the look in Loki's eyes was enough for me to answer, "Absolutly not."

The convestation ended when Jesse pulled up at the front of the house in his car. I patted Loki, "Ready for your doctor's appointment?"

He huffed, "As long as you don't cut off my nuts, I'm as ready as I'll ever be."

"No promises."

His eyes bugged out, "WHAT DO YO-?"

Laughing, I stroked his fur, "I'm joking, I wouldn't do that to you. Not without your consent."

Scowling, he grumbled, "That's how it should be."

KIssing his forehead, I opened the car door and got in, "Good boy."

And so, we set off to Loki's first veterinary visit.
