3 The Alchemy Association, Unexpected Benefits and Nice Surprises

The next day Chen Ren went to the Institute accompanied by his fiancés once more and followed the day's schedule, the only interesting tidbit was the fact that Nie Li did not come to class today, but Ren knew he would most likely be trying to get a starting capital.

When classes were over the trio left the Institute to go to the Alchemy Association. Once they reached it, they made a beeline to Director Yang Xin's office, when Chen Ren had passed the test for Alchemy Master and presented the first branch of what would be many Alchemical Formulas, Yang Xin had decreed that Chen Ren and anyone with him were allowed to come to her office, unannounced, whenever they wished. As such no one stopped them.

Once they reached the Director's door Chen Ren knocked on it once, they got confirmation and they entered.

As they entered, they saw Yang Xin, as beautiful as ever, sitting behind her desk working on paperwork. When she lifted her head to see who it was a large smile appeared on her face and she stood up to great them.

"Little brother Ren, Xiao Ning'er, Ye Ziyun, welcome." She said as she moved towards them. The three teens nodded towards her in greeting.

"Big sister Yang Xin, how are you?" Asked Chen Ren as he smiled at her. The Director smiled back and blushed a bit before she bent over slightly in order to give him a better view of her chest. The 25-year-old woman had liked teasing him ever since she first met him, though her reasons had change from a bit of fun to genuine interest and desire.

She then indicated towards the tea table she had close to her balcony boor for them to sit. Once they were all sitted Yang Xin spoke again.

"So, what can I do for you today?" She asked, interested in the reason for the visit.

"A few things." He said and with a motion Chen Ren removed four pieces of paper from his Interspatial Ring, and handed them over to her.

"For starters, here are four new elixir formulas I managed to translate." At his words Yang Xin smiled wildly as she accepted the recipes and looked them over. Her eyes widened a bit and her smile became a little bigger as she read them.

"These are great little brother; I assume the same deal as before will be acceptable?" She asked and Chen Ren nodded in confirmation.

The deal that the Divine Family had made with the Alchemy Association was as follows: since the Divine Family could not create many of the pills in massive quantities, if at all, they would give the formulas to the Association. In return the Association will give 40% of all profits to the Family and always have prices a bit higher than the prices the Divine Family put on the small number of pills that they did sell. The last part was the reason why they only got 40% of the sales instead of 50.

The deal had been greatly beneficial to both parties so they had readily agreed to it.

Plus, Chen Ren got a nice 30% of the money the family got, which means that for every 1 million that was gained selling the pills, the Divine Family would get 400k and Chen Ren would get 120k. Sure not as much as Nie Li got, but still a good amount considering how many billions the Association made selling his pills.

In fact, the Divine Family had a similar deal with the Inscription Hall, the institution that was primary responsible for the city's Inscription Patterns.

Nodding back at him Yang Xin stored the recipes in her own ring.

"Now that that part is done, is there anything else? Or did you use the formulas as an excuse to come see little old me?" She asked teasingly while showing off her body a bit.

Chen Ren shook his head as he chucked a bit, while Ning'er and Ziyun giggled at the older woman antics, they were used to her. Ren expression then turned serious as he spoke again, causing Yang Xin to focus.

"Actually, there is something I would like for you to be aware of…" he said before he and the girls started talking about Nie Li and how he seemed hellbent on pursuing Ziyun, even though the girl had never given him any reason to think that she was interested, hell she never talked to him before.

As she heard about their thoughts regarding Nie Li, Yang Xin couldn't help but think of him as a moron. With his actions he not only made himself an enemy of the Divine Family, but, according to what Ziyun was saying, the Snow Wind Family as well.

The two most powerful families in all of Glory City.

Plus seeing as the Alchemy Association was an ally of both of these families, they would also have to blacklist him. Something that she was sure would also happen with the Inscription Hall, seeing that it was mostly controlled by the Snow Wind Family, and had a advantageous deal with the Divine Family.

As the trio of teens got to the part about the suspecting peeping, Yang Xin gained an outraged expression, she knew these three for a long time and had a soft spot for them. How dare that little nobody humiliate Ziyun in such a way. When they finished informing her of the full situation, and their thoughts that someone might be behind the ginger-haired farmer, she nodded at them in conformation.

"Do not worry you three, I will make sure that he is not allowed to take any exam in the Alchemy Association, nor will I allow him to do any business with us." She was also planning to make sure that the Auction House was aware of him and to make sure that he wasn't welcome.

The three nodded and Chen Ren got up to leave, only to stop when he saw his two fiancés staying seated. When he raised an eyebrow in question Ning'er answered him.

"There are some things that we would like to discuss with Director Yang Xin, and they will most likely take all day. Plus, you told us that you had some business for the evening. We will see you tomorrow morning, ok?" Chen Ren nodded in confirmation, before he went and kissed each girl on the lips before he left the office. As he was leaving, he heard Ning'er speak.

"Now Director Yang Xin there are a few things we would like to ask you…"

After he returned to him home Chen Ren decided to cultivate until dinner.

About an hour later…

His Soul Sea exploded as he reached 4 Star Bronze Rank, Chen Ren smirked as he opened his eyes and checked his body, as with the other times he broke through his physical power also went up a Rank he really lucked out with this cultivation technique. Well, he really lucked out when he gained the Library of Heaven's Path, but the fact that all the necessary books for the technique's creation were all present in Glory City was also extremely fortunate.

He got up and did an hour of experience in order to get used to the new power his body possessed, before he took another pill and started cultivating again.

Two hours before it was time for dinner with his family, he stopped cultivating in order to go take a bath and rest enough for what he had planned for tonight.

He also wanted to be seen reading some of the books he had so he could make another move in his plans this evening.

Dinner went on like usual, though his family did congratulate him for breaking through.

The news that other members of the family were advancing was also welcome. It meant that the family was growing stronger.

Close to the end of dinner Ren breached the topic he had in mind since this morning, he was lucky that his father, mother and brother were honorable people who cared for others.

Otherwise, he would have never brought the following subject up.

"Father." He said, getting Chen Zhenlong attention. "Are there any plans for an expedition in the Dark Ruins?" At his question his father raised an eyebrow.

"From what I have heard yes there are some talks about it. Why are you asking?" Both Chen Huan and Chen Linjian looked on with interest, they were already having a personal expedition in a few days and Chen Ren was asking for another one?

"It was about something I read today in one of the journals you got for me, its regarding an artifact called the Nightmare Demon Pot that is located in the Dark Ruins." The listeners showed interest regarding his words. Thanks to his translations they had been able to discover the uses of many of their family's treasures, as well as which treasures were worth biding during auctions.

The fact that Chen Ren was talking about a specific artifact meant that it was incredibly powerful.

"What does this artifact do?" Asked his mother wondering what had caught her son's interest.

"If what I read is accurate… then by using this pot one can refine Demon Spirits." His declaration shocked the people present.

"WHAT!!?" Shouted a wide-eyed Chen Linjian, if it wasn't for the Silencing Inscription, Ren was pretty sure that the entire Glory City would have heard his brother.

Chen Ren simply nodded towards Linjian.

"By putting inside the pot ten Demon Spirits of the same attribute, there is a chance of a more power demon spirit forming. If one is lucky, there is a possibility for a rare and powerful Demon Spirit to form. Plus, it can also create Demon Spirits with higher growth rates." As he explained the pot's main use the three other people present had their eyes so wide in shock that there was a danger of them falling off.

They already knew about the growth rates of Demon Spirits for some time now, and the implication of the creation of a God Level growth rate Demon Beast, that Ren implied, was not lost on them.

Once he got out of his shock the Patriarch of the Divine Family suddenly stood up, a determined look on his face.

"I will make sure to assign for some of our best Black-Gold Excepts to take part in this expedition." He said and looked at his younger son. "Chen Ren, do you have a description of this Nightmare Demon Pot?" At the question Chen Ren removed a small scroll from his ring.

"I have something better." He replied and gave the scroll to his father. Chen Zhenlong opened it and saw the depiction of the pot made out of black lines. His wife and older son looked at it from his sides.

After their curiosity was sated, he nodded once more and left to assign this mission to a few of their Black-Gold Excepts.

Chen Linjian smiled proudly at his younger brother as he took his head under his arm and roughed up Ren's hair playfully.

"Well done once more, little Ren, you make our family proud." Chen Ren smiled at his brother, he was so glad that he had such an understanding and jealous-free older brother. If he had someone like Shen Fei he would be worried about his life.

"Hey big brother Linjian, we haven't spared for a few days now, how about a session tomorrow after class?" Chen Ren asked with an eager smile, one that his brother returned.

"You're on little Ren, you might be progressing rapidly but this older brother can still teach you a thing or two." They both laughed as their mother watched her children interact with each other with a small smile on her lips and warmth in her eyes.

Chen Ren was looking out his window as he waited for the Expert he had sent to track Nie Li to come and guide him to the location of the geezer-turned-boy.

As he waited, he wondered what he would gain from absorbing the knowledge that Nie Li had in his mind. The truth of the matter was that all the knowledge he had already gained by the books in Glory City were only good enough for this Tiny World, the cultivation techniques had enough chapters for someone to reach 2 to 3 Star Legend Rank.

A fine example was Du Ze's Heavenly Qilin Technique, he only had the first seven chapters. He knew there were 12 chapters in total and that Nie Li knew them.

A few minutes later the Gold Rank Expert appeared behind Chen Ren, she bowed her head and saluted the young man.

"Young master Chen, the target is currently unconscious on a tree branch in the middle of the forest in the Holy Orchid Institute's training grounds." At her words Chen Ren nodded his head before he turned to face the Expert.

"Good work, lead the way." With another salute the female Expert guided her young master to Nie Li's current location.

Chen Ren looked down at the tied-up time traveler while he was standing on the same tree branch as Nie Li. He had already dismissed his guide, informing her that she did not have to do anything else.

Once he was sure he was alone with Nie Li he crouched down just above his head and placed his right palm on top of Nie Li's forehead. He then closed his eyes and concentrated.

Information started pouring into the Library of Heaven's Path as countless new shelves were created and filled with an innumerable number of books.

It took over an hour to copy all the knowledge that Nie Li had in his mind, and it had surprised Chen Ren greatly, the sheer volume of knowledge was incredible. He couldn't wait to finish and get back home where he could look though the new books at his leisure.

He finally felt the process coming to an end. However, just as it was about to finish, he felt something 'heavy' be copied and take residence at the center of his Soul Sea. As whatever that was finished being copied, he felt a small explosion inside his Soul Sea causing him to retract his hand from Nie Li's forehead due to a feeling he got that was similar to when one gets hit by static electricity.

'What was that?' He thought as he looked first to his hand and then at the unconscious geezer.

He closed his eyes and entered the Library. Once there he guided the Library to scan whatever had been copied into his Soul Sea. A few seconds later a parchment appeared in front of him. Chen Ren grabbed it and started reading.

[Temporal Demon Spirit Seed (copy)

A seed that was created during the destruction of the Temporal Demon Spirit Book in a previous timeline.

This seed is a copy, but is equal in power and abilities to the original.

The Library of Heaven's Path was able to copy it due to the fact that it originated from a book.

Once the holder of the seed reaches Gold Rank it will spout into a vine.]

As he finished reading the results, Chen Ren stood in the middle of the Library in shock, he had not expected this!

Such good fortune!! The seed was one of Nie Li's most powerful plot armors, it had allowed him to survive crazy stunts that would have killed any other cultivator. One of the most significant was the cultivation of not one, but two Powers of Law, two opposing Laws to be more precise. He could even start cultivating the Laws at Gold Rank without drawback, instead of having to wait to reach Black-Gold!

He had the urge to start laughing like a maniac, but managed to keep it in. With a smirk on his face, he returned back to the waking world.

As he opened his eyes, the smirk he had in his astral form appeared on his physical body. He looked at Nie Li.

'Thanks for this unexpected gift, Nie Li, I really appreciate it.' He thought both honestly and sarcastically.

Now originally, he intended to untie him and leave. But after the stunt he pulled with the butterfly mark, the plans changed, he bent down to pick up Nie Li's body.

He may be in a good mood from what he had gained but that did not mean he was not going to teach this geezer a lesson.

Two hours later he was done, Nie Li was in just his underclothes with a thick rope tied around his hands and waist, the other end of the rope was tied at the top of the statue that was in the middle of the Holy Orchid Institute, making the boy look like he was a piñata.

As a final touch Chen Ren had drawn on Nie Li's face two penises, one on each cheek, which pointed at the boy's mouth.

Sure, it was juvenile, but in this society, where there is no such thing as media to distract the masses with new gossip every hour, it was almost enough to ruin someone's reputation for years.

With a couple of claps to get rid of some imaginary dust from his hands and a final nod to himself on a job well done, he stealthily left the Institute's main grounds.

He was lucky that the curfew guards only patrolled the outer walls. As such the first people who will find Nie Li will be the students.

Now the only thing left was to spread the rumor that Nie Li was a sexual deviant and peeping tom. That in combination with this degrading display, and the blacklisting from the Alchemy Association and Inscription Hall, should be enough to delay Nie Li's cultivation development until some of his other plans could be set in motion.

The next morning found Chen Ren walking to the Institute with his fiancés by his side like always. The only difference was the grin that was plastered on his face and did not seem to be leaving any time soon.

The knowledge he had gained last night was monumental, he had spent quite a bit of time after he returned home to write down the complete cultivation techniques for his father, mother, brother and fiancés.

Plus, the Library had added chapters into his own cultivation technique that will be useful when he enters the Draconic Ruins Realm and starts cultivating Heavenly Energy.

He gave them the updated cultivation techniques this morning explaining that he had managed to locate the remaining chapters.

As they approached the courtyard of the Institute's main building, they saw a crowd of students having surrounded the statue on the center of the courtyard.

"What is going on?" Asked Ning'er one of the boys close to them at the edge of the crowd.

The boy, who looked like he had been laughing to hard pointed at the statue.

"A student had been hanged on the statue by his waist with only his underclothes on. And the funniest part is what someone drew on his face." And as soon as he said that he started laughing again.

The boy's explanation picked Ning'er's and Ziyun's curiosity. They made their way to the statue until they found themselves in front of the statue and the show of Nie Li desperately trying to free himself from the rope, with two male genitalia drawn on his face.

Seeing that arrogant boy be in such a humiliating position made the girls join the crowd in laughing at him. Chen Ren had followed them to the statue and chuckled at his handiwork.

Nie Li had become the Institute's laughing stock, thus destroying the small face he had with the student body and the faculty.

Just then a few members of the faculty appeared, some went to release Nie Li while the rest dispersed the crowd.

For the whole day Nie Li's situation was on the lips of every single student, as a result everyone who knew him tried to distance themselves from time traveler, even Lu Piao. Though it was not so surprising, they were all children between the ages of 13 to 17 in a world where reputation was more important than life, that was like pear pressure on steroids.

As the day of classes ended, Chen Ren got ready to head home and prepare for his spar with his elder brother, when Ning'er's and Ziyun came towards him.

"Ren." Ziyun said getting him to look at them.

"Yes? what is it Ziyun, Ning'er?" He asked them with a soft tone of voice. He always had a soft spot for his beloveds.

"There is something we need to discuss with you along with Director Yang Xin." Said Ning'er piquing his curiosity.

"Oh? What would that be?"

"Come with us to the Alchemy Association and you will find out." Said Ziyun with a small blush on her cheeks and a small smile on her face. Ning'er was just smiling.

Chen Ren scratched the back of his head in slight embarrassment.

"I promised big brother Linjian that we would spar today, we haven't spent that much time together these last few days and I do not want to go back on my word." At his words the girls looked at each other before they turned back to their fiancé.

Ning'er then grabbed his right arm and started dragging him out the classroom with Ziyun right behind them.

"Where are we going?" Chen Ren asked confused. Ning'er did not look back as she answered him while she continued walking.

"We are going to see brother Linjian in order to postpone your spar for tomorrow." Her voice had a tone of finality that Ren did not dare to question.

No matter how powerful a man is, the minute a loved female, be they family of friend, uses that tone he simply follows.

They arrived at the genius class after a few minutes walking and found Chen Linjian talking to a classmate. He saw them enter and smiled at his younger brother and his fiancés.

"Little brother Ren, little sister Ning'er, little sister Ziyun, what are you doing here?" He asked them confused.

Once they reached him Ning'er stopped walking but kept her hand on Ren's arm.

"Greetings brother Linjian, we heard from Ren that you had a spar scheduled after classes end, unfortunately we need to talk with him and we do not know how long it will take." Both her and Ziyun then bowed their heads a bit in apology surprising Linjian.

"We are here to ask you to postpone the spar for tomorrow, we apologize for any inconvenience this request might cause." Spoke Ziyun for both of them.

Chen Linjian shook his head and indicated with his hands for them to raise their heads.

"There is nothing to apologize little sisters, little Ren is your future husband, so of course your needs take precedence over a simple spar." He reassured them with a smile. He got smiles of gratitude from the girls and a nod of appreciation from his younger brother.

"Thank you, elder brother, we will now take our leave." With those parting words from Ning'er, both girls grabbed one of Ren's hands and started dragging him away, much to the amusement of Linjian and the rest of the genius class.

The one exception being Shen Fei, who looked in rage as the woman he desired walked away with her hands on another man.

The girls dragged Chen Ren all the way to the front of Yang Xin's office. There Ning'er knocked the door, and when they got the ok to enter, opened it, dragged Ren to a couch and made him sit.

Ziyun closed the door behind them.

Getting his bearings back, Chen Ren looked up and saw the three females in front of him, Ziyun to his left, Ning'er on his right and Yang Xin in front of him.

"So… what's this about?" He asked with confusion evident in both his face and voice.

He observed the three females glancing at one another before Ning'er started speaking.

"We want you to take big sister Xin as your 3rd wife." Whatever Ren was expecting, it wasn't that, this showed on his surprised face when he looked at the blushing Yang Xin.

Ziyun took control of the conversation before Ren could say anything.

"We noticed her feelings for you had become romantic about 6 months ago, and we knew that you appreciated both her personality and physical beauty." Her words made him plush a bit, it was true that ever since he hit puberty in this life, he had been checking Yang Xin out. But he thought he was discreet about it.

Turns out the girls saw right through him.

He looked down embarrassed by that fact, not being able to look at his fiancés in the eyes.

Seeing how he reacted Ning'er leaned forward, put the palm of her right hand under his chin and gently raised his head.

When he looked at her, he saw a warm smile, full of compassion and love on hers and Ziyun's faces.

"We do not blame you for being attracted to her Chen Ren, we have already discussed this remember? We knew from the beginning of our relationship with you that we would not be your only women, you're far too great a man to not have a harem." She then took a step back as Ziyun pushed the blushing Yang Xin gently towards Chen Ren.

He could clearly see the blush the older woman had on her cheeks, as well as the desire in her eyes.

"Are you sure you want to be in a relationship with me? I am quite the possessive man. If I start considering you a beloved, I will never let you go." His words made her blush a bit deeper as a big smile appeared on her face. She leaned a bit forward, making sure to give him a good view of her voluptuous chest, and put her hands over his shoulders. Her actions causing their faces to get close to each other.

"Ever since you first passed the test for Senior Alchemy Master, at the astonishing age of 9, I have been watching you. In the beginning it was like I had a little brother I could tease and spend time with. Though at times you seemed far more mature than you should have been for your age." As she spoke, she moved her right hand in order to caress his cheek, and she moved just a tiny bit closer.

"But as I saw you grow and come closer to adulthood, I couldn't help but admire you physically as well, and I will admit that for half a year now I began desiring you as a man. So yes, little bro- no… my beloved Ren, I do want to be in a romantic relationship with you. I do want to belong only to you, and to give you my everything." And with those final words she claimed his lips with hers.

Chen Ren stayed shocked for only a moment, before he hugged her by the waist and turned the relatively innocent kiss into a steaming make-out session.

Even though Yang Xin was older than Chen Ren, she had no experience interacting romantically with the opposite sex. As such she very quickly found herself being completely dominated by her love.

The door opened and President Gu Yan entered. When he spotted them, he smiled and spoke.

"Ah Director Yang Xin, I heard from the reception that young Chen Ren came to see you with his fiancés, so I came to greet them. I hope I'm not interrupting?" As much as all four of them wanted to scream 'YES! YOU ARE INTERRUPTING!', they knew that they could not say such a thing.

"No, of course not, you are always welcome President Gu Yan." She said with a smile, getting a grandfatherly one from the aged President. He then turned towards the trio of teenagers.

"And how are you three been doing?" He asked them with a smile. The trio saluted Gu Yan and Chen Ren spoke.

"We are fine President Gu Yan, thank you for your concern." His words made the elder man smile once more and nod.

"So, what brought you three here today?" His question made all of them a bit uncomfortable, they did not want to reveal their new relationship until they informed their families first, as was dictated by tradition. Thankfully Chen Ren had the perfect way out.

"Actually, President Gu Yan, you arrived at the best moment possible." He said getting both the elder's and the three females attention.

"Oh?" Asked Gu Yan with interest as he stroked his beard. With a simple movement of his hand, Chen Ren unsealed from his ring 8 pieces of parchment.

He then gave 6 of them to Gu Yan.

"I discovered a tome filled with pill formulas in the last batch of unknown books that my father brought me, these are the first 6 that I have translated." The attention of President Gu Yan and Yang Xin, as well as Ning'er's and Ziyun's to an extent, was now focused on the pieces of parchment.

In truth these pill formulas were just the first batch from the knowledge he had siphoned from Nie Li's brain, that he had time to wright down.

Gu Yan started studying the parchments with interest. Yang Xin, ever the curious alchemist, looked over the President's shoulder in order to see what new wonders her love had brought the Association.

"Elemental specific cultivation pills! What an incredible find!" Exclaimed Gu Yan as he looked back at the younger man with wide eyes and joy evident on his face. Chen Ren nodded his head in confirmation.

"Yes, that is correct, I did not have time to translate all of them, but from a quick look I gave the book there are pill formulas for every element imaginable." The megawatt smile the elder had got even brighter after hearing those words.

"These are marvelous finds young Chen Ren, as expected of you." Said the President of the Association, his joy clear in his voice. Ren simply nodded his head with a smile on his face, before he gave the older man the last two parchments. Gu Yan took them curiously, wondering what information they held.

"I also found two more herbs that are a lot like the Purple Haze Grass, here are their descriptions and their uses." Hearing the answer to his unasked question Gu Yan, and Yang Xin for that matter, turned their attention to the new parchments.

Ordinarily Chen Ren would have waited to get those two herbs in quantity before he released the information regarding their uses. But this knowledge was taken from Nie Li, if he gave that geezer enough time, he could use them to obtain wealth, and thus become a problem.

He was not going to allow that to happen.

"Magnificent! Truly magnificent! I will go and put these into the vault right away. Chen Ren, never forget that you are always welcome in the Alchemy Association." With those final words Gu Yan nodded a goodbye to all of them and left the office.

As they saw him leave the four signed in relief at the fact that they were not found in an embarrassing position. Chen Ren then turned towards Yang Xin.

"We better leave for now, Xin come to my house at dinner time so we can introduce you to my family as my new betrothed." He said as he gave the older woman a kiss on the lips. She blushed a bit but smiled dreamily and nodded at his words.

After a final goodbye the trio left the office in order to go to the Divine Family's main mansion.

When Chen Ren presented Yang Xin as his new betrothed to his family at dinner that night, it had shocked them. It took them a full minute for them to get out of it.

The first to do so was his mother, who squealed in joy over the fact that she would get another daughter-in-law. And the thought of more possible future grandchildren helped her excitement.

His father simply shook his head in amusement at his son's predicament while a small smile formed on his lips.

His older brother chuckled in good humor and said that he understood now why it was important for the spar they had planned had to be postponed.

He then started teasing his younger brother on his women situation. In retaliation Chen Ren brought Huyan Lanruo into the discussion and the fact that his brother had an interest in her.

This caused Chen Linjian to pale, as their mother turned her attention towards him and started asking when was he going to bring the girl over for them to meet her.
