6 Chapter 6

Rereading the prompt, Cain was excited and slightly terrified of the new mission. Although he planned to subtly give hints about Palpatine being a Sith Lord, Cain knew he'd need to do better to keep Palpatine's evil wrinkly fingers away from Anakin.

First things first on Cain's checklist was to become strong enough to curb stomp everyone in the Galaxy. To accomplish this Cain knew he would have to take more risk, while trying not to die along the way.

To become strong Cain always knew that he couldn't stay as Padme's guard forever. Although Captain Panaka helped immensely Cain was going to hit a plateau soon.

He would need more fighting experience by traveling the galaxy and finally becoming a Bounty Hunter if his skills were gonna improve.

Still slightly distracted in his own thoughts and plans for the future, Cain suddenly noticed that Anakin was staring, almost creepily, at Padmé.

"What's up with the kid?" Cain asked while nudging the clearly embarrassed Padmé.

" I don't know-." Padmé started but was interrupted as Anakin finally spoke.

"Are you an Angel?" Anakin asked while staring up at Padmé with wide eyes.

"What?"

"An angel. I've heard the deep space pilots talk about them. They are good and kind, and so pretty they make even the most

hardened spice pirate cry." Anakin exclaimed with amazement.

"I've never heard of angels," Padmé replied.

"I have. They charge by the hour, but I've heard they're amz-" Cain joked, but was interrupted as Padmé smacked the back of his head.

"You must be one...maybe you just don't know it," Anakin said innocently.

"You're a funny little boy. How do you know so much?" Padmé said playfully while smiling.

"Since I was very little, three, I think. My Mom and I were sold to Gardulla the Hutt, but she lost us to Watto."

"You're...a slave?" Padmé stuttered while shocked that the innocent boy in front of her was treated as property.

As Padmé seemed shocked by this revelation, Cain was still angry about the matter of slavery. He knew that it was spread throughout the galaxy, and it was almost impossible to make it fully illegal as slavers were like cockroaches, they never die.

As he trained to get stronger, one of Cain's goal for the future would be to save as many people from slavery, especially from the gangsters Hutt clans. The mighty Jedi Order didn't interfere with their dark deals, even though they're supposed to be 'Protectors' of the galaxy.

"I am a person! My name is Anakin Skywalker." Anakin said while looking at Padme defiantly.

"I'm sorry. I don't fully understand. This is a

strange world to me." Padmé said helplessly.

"You are a strange girl to me," Anakin replied, as he and Padme stared deeply into each other eyes.

Standing off to the side awkwardly, Cain suddenly coughed loudly trying to interrupt, whatever was happening right now.

"...So should I just leave, and give you two the room for a while." Cain said while grinning at Padmé.

Upon hearing this, Padme blushed slightly and Anakin just looked confused about what was happening.

After an awkward beginning, Padmé and Anakin suddenly seemed to just click as they began to talk animatedly with one another.

Giving the future couple some alone time, Cain surveyed the store and began searching for something. Although Cain's purpose for coming with the group was to protect Padmé, he also had another agenda.

As Cain knew that they were already heading towards Tatooine, he had a sudden idea to keep Anakin farther away from Palpatine's grasp.

He planned on freeing Shmi Skywalker from slavery.

This was something that greatly bothered Cain whenever he watched the Star Wars movies. After taking Anakin from slavery, why didn't they help his mother? The Jedi could have come back to free her, or even Padme could have. She was the freaking Queen of a planet.

But no, they simply left her as a slave while also taking her son from her. Although she was later freed and married, she still died tragically being tortured by Tusken Raiders. And when Anakin killed all of the Raiders in revenge, that was his first real step towards the Dark Side.

So by stoping that entire dramatic scenario from happening, Cain was stopping most of the events that happened in the Attack of The Clones.

After feeling around the shop, Cain decided to try and use the Force and find a hidden safe.

After making sure Padmé and Anakin were still distracted by one another, Cain then closed his eyes and pushed outwards.

Taken aback by the sudden expansion of his senses, Cain quickly adjusted and quickly searched the entire shop.

For a few minutes, he found nothing until Cain turned towards Anakin and was shocked.

Looking at him was almost overwhelming and somehow his eyes were irritated even though they were closed. Moving away from the stupidly high midi-chlorian count boy, Cain suddenly found a pocket in the wall.

Opening his eyes, Cain found a new notification in front of him.

[Force Power: Sense(D) Learned]

Dismissing the notification, Cain quietly made his way towards the secret safe. He felt the wall and pulled away from the false wall. Seeing the secret safe, Cain knew that he had finally found what he was looking for.

Brushing his fingers against the coded safe, Cain reach out with the Force and felt the locks. Feeling the entirety of the safe, Cain finally found his way in..

With a twist, Cain telekinetically shifted the inner locks and waited. After a few seconds of anticipation, the safe swung open with a hiss.

Cain grinned at his success and quickly searched the contents of the safe. In the safe, there were papers, a pile of credits, and Cain finally found the exact object he was looking for.

In the corner of the safe, there was a black tablet with a row of buttons. This tablet was a device specifically held by slaver owners.

When a slave is bought they are implanted with a small bomb that will implode if they disobey or run away from their master. The tablet allowed the slave owner to activate and deactivate the bomb in their slaves.

Grabbing the tablet, Cain saw that there were currently two bombs activated. Seeing that these were probably Shmi's and Anakin's, he quickly deactivated the bombs permanently and destroyed the tablet.

Smiling at his success, Cain took half of Watto's credits just because he could while quietly closing the safe and moving back towards Anakin and Padmé.

" ...wouldn't have lasted long if I weren't so good at fixing things. I'm making my own droid..." Anakin exclaimed excitedly to Padmé. Immersed completely with Anakin, Padmé seemed happier than Cain's seen her in a while.

"We're leaving," Qui-Gon announced as he hurried to leave the shop, but suddenly stopped. Staring Cain in eyes for a second, before he continued his long strides to the door.

"I'm glad I met you, Anakin Skywalker," Padmé said dejectedly as she walked towards the door.

Padmé turned, to see Anakin looking sad as he watched her leave.

"I'm glad I met you too," Anakin replied sorrowfully while watching Padmé leave.

"See you later, Anakin," Cain said as he followed everyone else out of the shop.

Walking with his group, Cain waited for the inevitable incident that Jar-Jar Binks was going to cause.

Seeing Jar-Jar stop at a food-stall for dead frogs, Cain watched the funny spectacle with a smile.

Jar-Jar looked around to see if anyone is looking, then stuck out his tongue to get ahold of one the dangling frogs, and pulled it into his mouth.

Jar-Jar suddenly opened his mouth in surprise as the frog was still attached by a wire, and the frog snaps away, ricocheting

around the market. It landed in the soup of a vicious criminal, Sebulba, splashing him in the face.

"Who did dat?!" Sebulba yelled, and then turned his glare towards Jar-Jar.

Jumping over his table, Sebulba leaped through the air and shoved Jar-Jar to the ground. The Gungan desperately tried to scramble to safety but was pinned to the ground.

"Why mesa always da one?" Jar-Jar asked rhetorically.

"Because you're afraid."

Jar-Jar turned to see Anakin pushing his way next to the Gungan. The boy stood up

to Sebulba in a way that made Jar-Jar feel safe.

"Careful, Sebulba...This one's very connected." Anakin threatened while looking towards Cain and Qui-Gon.

Sebulba stopped his assault on Jar-Jar and turned towards Anakin.

"Connected?? What you mean, slave?" Sebulba questioned Anakin.

"I'd hate to see you diced before we race again."

"Next time we race, wermo, it will be the end of you! If you weren't a slave, I'd squash you right now." Sebulba sneered as he turned away.

As Sebulba left, the entire group moved towards the downed Gungan and Anakin.

"Nice to see you again." Cain said to Anakin.

"Hi! Your buddy here was about to be turned into orange goo. He picked a fight with a Dug. An especially dangerous Dug called Sebulba." Anakin commented while pointing at the Gungan.

"Thank you, my young friend." Qui-Gon thanked Anakin with a smile.

Seeing each other again, Anakin and Padmé smiled and began walking together. Moving together everyone stopped to eat at a stall, but then the wind began to severely pick up.

"Do you have shelter?" Anakin asked as he was concerned about their safety.

"It's on the outskirts," Cain replied

"You'll never reach the outskirts in time...sandstorms are very, very dangerous. Come with me! You can stay at my place." Exclaimed Anakin as he lead the group to shelter.
