126 The Duke's family (part 2)

( Yuuki's POV )

After Sushie introduced herself Yae and the twins knelt before her.

Tsukiumi: um? What are you doing?

Elze: What are you doing? How can you be so calm?

She is related to the Duke!

Yuuki: and?

Linze: Duke is the highest rank for a noble, that rank is reserved for members of the royal family.

Sushie: correct, my father Alfred Urnes Ortlinde is the younger brother of His Majesty the King.

Yuuki: I see, well don't take it as an offense but I don't kneel before anyone, I'm sorry.

Sushie: that's fine, there's no need for formalities here, like I said Yuuki is our savior.

Yuuki: You are very thoughtful Sushie.

Sue: Sue is fine.

Yuuki: but what were you doing here?

After loading the seven most wounded guards into our carriage we continued our journey to the capital and one of the guards went ahead of us to explain what had happened to the duke, On the way I saw Sue stealing glances at me from inside her carriage but I didn't think much of it.

We didn't have any problems the rest of the trip and when the capital was in sight I could appreciate all its beauty, a beautiful, clean city with a large castle next to a crystal clear lake.

Linze: There it is, the capital of the Belfast kingdom, Alephis, also known as the city of lakes.

Yuuki: impressive.

We arrived at Sue's mansion and when the doors opened we were greeted by two long lines of maids bowing to us, at the end of the hall was a middle-aged man who I assumed was Sue's father, Alfred something something.

Alfred: Sue!!

Sue: Father!

As soon as they saw each other father and daughter ran into each other's arms and hugged each other.

Alfred: I'm so glad you're okay, when I heard what had happened my heart almost jumped out of my chest.

Sue: I'm fine father.

After confirming that his precious daughter was alright, the duke turned his attention to us, and with a quick step, he approached to shake both my hands.

Alfred: and you are the brave adventurers who brought my daughter healthy, you have my most sincere gratitude.

His gratitude even led him to kneel in front of me but that is somewhat uncomfortable for me.

Yuuki: There is no need for that, I just did what anyone would have done in that situation, I am not very fond of those kinds of formalities.

Alfred: How humble, the truth is I'm not very fond of formalities either.

Yuuki: I guess we're going to get along just fine.

' Hahahaha '

We both started laughing as if we were old friends and the girls behind me started looking at me strangely.

The duke treated us to some tea while our reward was being prepared and we discussed more about the attack earlier.

Yuuki: Do you have any idea who could be behind this?

Alfred: No, many people would like to get to me through Sue but I don't know who could go this far.

I suppose that is inevitable, I don't know anything about the nobility of this kingdom to give any advice, but I believe that the duke will know what to do from now on.

Sue: Father! Sorry for the wait.

While we were talking Sue showed up having changed her casual but still expensive clothes for a beautiful pink dress, With her long blonde hair and green eyes she looked much more like a noble girl.

Alfred: oh Sue, you were able to talk to Ellen.

Sue: Yes, but I didn't want to worry her so I left out the attack.

Yuuki: who is Ellen?

Alfred: She is my wife, I'm sorry she can't introduce herself to you but unfortunately she is blind, five years ago she became seriously ill and although she survived, Her body became weak and she lost her sight.

Yuuki: Umm do you think you could let me see her?

The atmosphere became somewhat somber when they talked about Ellen's situation but I remained calm and when I spoke they both looked at me confused and I continued explaining.

Yuuki: Let's say that I have a neutral magic that can cure her, if you let me see her I promise that she will regain her sight.

After saying that the duke took me to the room where his wife was, she was sitting on her bed quietly and although she tried not to show it she was sad, She heard us enter and I introduced myself saying that I was there to cure her but she did not show much enthusiasm, I think she didn't have high hopes but that will only make it sweeter when she is cured.

I didn't want to take any chances so I released both of my seals and I used all my power to heal her.

Sue: Mother?

The room was filled with a green light. After a second I took a step back and waited for a response from the Duchess.

Ellen: I can see.

After a somewhat dry response, the duchess began to whimper and a huge smile formed on her face, She was overwhelmed with happiness, and her husband and daughter ran to hug her creating a happy and cozy family moment.

Elze: Yuuki-san you're amazing.

The girls touched by the moment ran to hug me and praise me, the truth is I just think I'm a busybody but if I can help someone that's fine by me.

I patted all the girls' heads and we bathed in the happy atmosphere for a while.
