Fish

Walking around the room in short steps, confusion clear in her expression. Tsunade held her chin and rubbed it with her fingers, occasionally stopping to look at the long Odachi that housed the spirit Megumi had given her within it.

Making up her mind for the final time in the last few minutes, Tsunade walked toward the Odachi that was leaning on the wall and stretched her hands towards it yet again. But her will to wield it fractured once again before it came into contact with her blade.

'What if it doesn't work again?'

Tsunade wanted to leave, but before she could, Caroline walked into the room with a spring in her steps.

"Tsunade! Watcha doing?"

Tsunade's eyes widened, and her hands froze in a slightly awkward position, causing the Odachi to start leaning and falling over. As the Odachi began its great fall, Tsunade came back to her senses and nearly jumped to catch it well, out of fear of angering Caroline with how careless she was with it.

Caroline snickered and spoke with a hand on her 'lips', "Don't be so hasty to always train, Tsuna."

"Hai!" Tsunade nodded like a girl caught eating in the middle of the night as Caroline pulled her to sit on the bed in the room while she herself pulled a chair to the front.

"Tsuna, did you connect with your Spirit yet?"

Although she didn't want to admit it, Tsunade couldn't lie to Caroline, and she guessed she'd know anyway, given how she spent most of her remaining time with Megumi.

"No. Not yet."

"Well, why don't we work on that, then?" Caroline asked, covering Tsunade's hands with her own that was covered using an elemental clone jutsu.

'I should find a way to make her artificial skin while she's in this form. It probably isn't very comfortable touching me like this.'

"Can you help?" Tsunade asked in a pleading tone.

But to her surprise, Caroline shook her head, "No. The only person who can help you contact your spirit is you. But I can be here waiting for you to succeed."

'Try to form a connection with my spirit while Caroline's watching me? That seems…scandalous…somehow.'

"Alright." Tsunade held her Odachi with care and caressed it to lie on her lap, after which she closed her eyes to focus.

Splitting her spiritual energy and pulling it toward the sheathed blade, Tsunade did what she always did, try and form a connection with the blade by wrapping it within her spiritual energy.

Caroline let her hand rest on Tsunade's until she saw her focus, after which she pulled back and waited for Tsunade by her side.

Time felt a lot longer when someone was by your side, waiting for you to do something, Tsunade felt the same. But as embarrassing as it was she tried to keep her eyes closed, her spiritual energy forming the cover over her long Odachi fluttered with ripples that she could feel, but she kept trying to pretend to be focused.

Suddenly, she felt something pull the back of her kimono, and before she could react what felt like cold cubes of ice fell into her kimono, touching her bare back, sending a sudden chill all throughout her body.

With her eyes snapped open, Tsunade glared at Caroline in annoyance. "What was that for!?" she asked, wiggling herself to get the last bits of ice out of her dress.

"You think I won't realize you're pretending to try hard?" Caroline stated in a bland tone, one that Tsunade knew she only used when she was angry, a remnant of her personality from when she acted like GLaDOS.

Tsunade turned her head away to look somewhere else and spoke in a dissatisfied tone, "It's hard alright! I don't know what I'm doing, and somehow I seem to be the only one that hasn't gotten it yet!"

Revealing a soft *sigh* Caroline placed her hand around Tsunade's waist, earning a surprised *Eekk!* from her in turn.

"What're you doing!?" Tsuande asked in a panicked tone.

"I'm going to sit like this until you're done now. I won't move away." Caroline said with some finality in her voice.

"Wha-"

"No."

"But-"

"No, I said no. You can't change my mind. No one can."

Tsunade felt uncomfortable as she felt Caroline's 'clone' skin make contact with her over her clothes. But it didn't feel weird, it felt, 'warm?'

Trying her best to get the stream of images that were popping into her mind, Tsunade went back to focus on her Odachi and stabilize her spiritual energy around it.

But, it wasn't long before her mind began to wander again.

'Didn't Megumi say I should do the training with Caroline?'

'Why isn't it working now, then?'

'Aghh…I don't care.'

'Caroline's arms feel, toned. Sakura did a good job sculpting their wooden base.'

'But she can't fight in this form. The wooden frame wouldn't be able to hold as much force.'

'Even Megumi has to use his weird jutsu to keep all the joints of the puppet arm from snapping each time they are attacked with force.'

'Could there be a way to help them?'

'I remember Gakushi, the ninja that Megumi and Sakura captured, had metal arms for prosthetics. Maybe I could design and build something like that?'

Feeling Caroline's hands tighten a little around her waist, Tsunade felt funny but tried not to think too much about it.

'How long has it been?'

'Will Caroline really not get up?'

'Will she teach me about the chemistry thing that Megumi was talking about? Perhaps I can find new ways to heal people.'

'Umu umu, that'd be for the best.'

'Oh! I remember Megumi was going to be ambushed today! I should ask Sakura to show me how it all looked when I meet her tonight!'

'Haha! I can imagine just how stupid he would've looked!'

Caroline slowly rested her head on Tsunade's back and snuggled closer, causing Tsunade to jump a little, but her shinobi instincts kept her still.

Opening her eyes a little and turning her head slowly to look behind her, Tsunade saw Caroline asleep.

'Am I that comfortable to use as a pillow?'

'It feels nice though.'

Tsunade giggled mentally as she imagined Caroline like a black cat that was swinging its tail around in sassy ways while sleeping in her lap.

'Perhaps she'll like viewing the world from high above while sitting on Katsuyu's head?'

'I did when grandpa first introduced me to her.'

And then it happened.

Her spiritual energy, that was maintaining a steady sheath of its own around the blade, felt a small spike pierce it and then open up a connection that made Tsunade feel her mind was being invaded.

Trained instincts nearly worked against her this time as she was about to use all her force and will to break the newly budding connection, but stopped at the last second as she found a weird creature floating around in her mindscape.

Her mindscape was not as fancy as Megumi's or even Sakura's. She had never figured out how the two of them could have such free control over their minds.

Hers was a simple place, it was her childhood home. The Senju compound.

But recently parts of her new home, Megumi's mansion, had begun invading it a little too.

At the center of the wide playground she used in her childhood, which was usually used for training by everyone other than her, Tsunade spotted a 'Flying fish?'

'My spirit?' Tsunade thought with excitement. 'Why does it look weird, though? First a slug, now a triangular fish! What is happening!?'

"No! I'm not just another flying fish! I'm M!^@$*#!"

"Huh?"

"Ah. Mistress cannot hear my name! Tragedy! This is a tragedy! I miss master! Master was so easy to talk to! Why is my Mistress so stupid!"

*BONK*

Slamming the fish's head, Tsunade wiped off the blood that had appeared on her knuckles from somewhere, 'My mindsacpe is mysterious, putting blood on my hands for no reason.'

The flying fish squirmed about on the dusty floor and shouted, "Mistress hit me!! Mistress hit me!!!!!"

"Shut it!!" Tsunade threatened by raising her fist again.

The single eye on the green body of the fish darted around, jumping everywhere, until it settled on Tsunade's figure once again and whimpered, "Bad mistress."

"Say something?" Tsunade asked with a tick on her forehead.

The fish shook its whole body around to indicate no. Which looked weird and generated small gusts of wind since it was about a meter wide.

"What are you?" Tsunade asked in slight confusion.

"I'm your sword's spirit!" The fish spoke in a childish voice.

"Are you a child?"

"I was only born a few months ago!"

'Is it calling me dumb…'

"Then why is Caroline already an adult?"

"Are you referring to the spirit outside?"

Tsunade nodded.

"She's not like me! I'm special!" The spirit exhaled proudly, sending bouts of steam from its nose.

"Oh? Special how?" Tsunade asked with a slight tilt to her head, but the fish rejected her by shaking its whole body to indicate a no once again.

"You can only know that once you learn my name!"

"Your name? The thing that sounded like gibberish? Just tell me again and-"

"That's not gibberish! That's your inability to contain my greatness!" The fish interrupted and raised its body with pride, as if it was the best there could ever be.

"How can I do-" Before Tsunade could finish her sentence, she was suddenly kicked back out of her own mindscape as she felt the rebound of her connection with the spirit in the sword snap.

Grabbing her head and trying to soothe it by using Iryojutsu, Tsunade tried to relax but became stiff once she felt Caroline's arms still around her.

"Congrats! You did it!" Caroline exclaimed, squeezing Tsunade in her hug a little tighter to convey her happiness.

Tsunade reciprocated by hugging her back, "I was worried so much, you know. That I'd miss out while the two of them were able to meet their spirits."

"Shhh...it's alright." Caroline hugged Tsunade and patted her hair to calm her down as she felt small tears escape Tsunade's eyes.

"Thank you."

"No problem."

In another room, Megumi smiled softly as he heard something that happened in the castle, but quickly went back to working on the problem floating in front of him.

An eyeball.

An eyeball with a three tomoe sharingan.

'Why didn't I think of this before?'

'Why is it a three tomoe right now? Shouldn't it be a Mangekyo since the Zetsu could use Obito's teleporting ability?'

'Was it a Mangekyo during the time Obito possessed the Zetsu, but became normal after he left?'

'So he still needs a full sharingan for it to become a Mangekyo during his possession.'

'Does that mean a mangekyo isn't a physical thing?'

'....this is confusing.'

'I hope Tsunade strengthens her bond with the spirit faster. That little guy would be a great help to this project.'

Letting the hologram of the eye fade away, Megumi spoke into his mind, 'My dearest Rura! How're things on your end?'

'Honestly, not great. I dunno what to do.'

'What happened?'

'They're still being stuck up about wanting to hate me for no reason based simply on rumors.'

'Are you doing the work that you were doing earlier?'

'I stopped yesterday but the rumors just worsened, should I go back to doing work?'

'No. They'll only bully you more then, do you have any new projects planned earlier that you didn't have the time to work on before?'

'Well…maybe? Why?'

'Find some competent people who're getting tired of all the drama and those that won't betray you and work on that with them. Maybe teach them some skills along the way so you can make your life easier.'

'Oh! Yeah! I could do that! I'll ask Annabella to spy on people and find the right ones for me! While I hire new ones.'

'...as you see fit I guess.'

'What're you doing now?'

'I'm going to work on the base for our organisation.'

'IRL?'

'Nah. In game for now.'

'Don't touch my minecraft world!'

'Our world! Our! And no, I won't use it, don't worry.'

'I'll trust those words only once I see it happen.'

'Fine. Fine. I'll have it ready by tonight. It'll be a nice test for the tools we'll be revealing in a month.'

'Shoo shoo, don't disturb me! I'm busy! Bye bye!'

'....bye..'

Megumi looked at the screen and saw the world creation tools that he created, 'I guess the SCP Organization in this world might as well create its first base. Should I link it to the real world by using seals to teleport people around?'
