Ch 2:-Military Academy(Edited)

After a while, Rayne felt a splash of cold water chucked over his head. It served its purpose, immediately jolting him awake. The only thing that he could see upon opening his eyes, was a greenish smoke that dominated his surroundings.

He and several other students began to lift their head to look around them. There were currently a total of 600 students standing on a plain open field, in strange place that none of them recognise. The puzzlement on their face spoke volumes.

"This is were the lot of you will spend the next two years of your life," the voice of Sergeant Griff explained.

The green plain was not the only thing the students saw. There were three huge futuristic building directly in front of them. The building were human images sculpted entirely out of glass. Each one stood at least sixty feet tall, but that was not the only that the field overlooked. They were standing on an elevated platform with a city in front of them a hidden city. Everyone was already dressed up in a military uniform with only Rayne who was still wearing his green sleeping mask like a pair of sun glasses and there where technological marvels appealing to them all.

These devices were too advanced for their time. There were mechs moving crates and there were building machines, enormous things rising high into the sky with their crane. There was no one inside the machine, yet it laid down panel after panel of glass on a building that was still in construction.

There were flying ships, coming too close to the ground that Quinn and Rayne was afraid that they would crash into the high rise buildings and send a shower of glass falling on the people in the city below. However, no such thing happened. They all followed a particular path. Then there were levitating trains which rose high into the air, running on rails that none of the students could see. Some of the technology they were witnessing had yet to be made public.

Rayne was thinking ' It is far to advanced in comparison of mine universe but what actually caused such a evolution of mankind to this point. The scavenging of Dalki tech shouldn't have caused such an advancement in such a short period until there was someone who would have more understanding of the Dalki tech if I am not wrong Dalki tech should have some firewall to fully understand the tech one need to be someone who had created such tech.' Suddenly he again had a headache and he remembered more information. 'Richard Eno is the one who created all this so he must have some affiliation with the Dalki. This come to conclusion that Richard Eno knows the inner knowledge of the Dalki tech.' Rayne was pulled out of his thoughts by Quinn who was now besides him and was pointing towards his wrist so I curiously looked at his to see a watch so I turned to see mine to see a digital watch but it was showing nothing.

"Placed on your Wrist is your lifeline. It will identify you as a student at this military base. It will allow you to access certain areas, pay for food, and all sorts of other things. When not in use, the wristwatch will display a number - Your corresponding power level," Griff said.

It sounded to Rayne that he was speaking some foreign language and when he turned to see Quinn and others he saw the confusion on their face indicating they also didn't understand anything.

Rayne saw Quinn looking at his watch and clenching. As he was about to encourage him the sergeant again spoke.

"We will immediately begin testing your respective levels. Don't move until you are called forward, understand?!" Griff shouted with a smile on his face and everyone just nodded. The sergeant looked frightening with his smile. It was completely contradicting his hard face. "Good luck!"

After that Rayne told Quinn " You know that you are sweating a lot it could lead you to dehydration I recommend that you should drink some water."

"What about you you are also sweating you should also drink water." Quinn said.

'Sigh!' Rayne sighed mentally.

"Hey are you two okay?," a stranger asked standing next to the brothers. The stranger was Vorden.

"If you want I can call some one for help," Vorden offered.

"It's okay I am a little bit nervous about testing." Quinn lied as he tried to ignore his tired body and stand up straight.

"Well, don't be. I'm quite strong, you know. If anyone messes with you, you can come and ask me for help," Vorden offered, smiling.

Quinn returned the smile, yet he couldn't help but feel uneasy.

"The name's Vorden, by the way" the other boy introduced himself and placed his hand out.

"My name's Quinn," Quinn replied as he shook Vorden's hand.

Quinn forcefully pulled his hand back. The other one even had a puzzled look on his face as he stood there.

"What is your ability?" Vorden eventually asked.

"..." Quinn paused, thinking for a while whether he should answer or not. Ultimately, he wanted to see Vorden's real reaction. "I don't have an ability"

Vorden no longer had a puzzled face but he didn't look satisfied of the answer then he turned towards Rayne and extended his hand for a shake.

"What is your name?" Vorden asked

"My name is Rayne Talen." said Rayne and shook hands.

"Next group, Quinn Talen, Vorden Blade, Peter Chuck, Rayne Talen, Layla Munrow, and Erin Heley. Come to the front to take your test."
