Chapter 6

Hadrian POV

I saw Morgana was shocked as she whispered "He was really going to enter the room."I just gave a nod as she was having a hard time believing that as she shook out of it and went behind the screen as Morgana looked over the screen and said"Don't look okay."

I turned around as I heard her ask, "So you are coming to the party right.?"

Morgana comes out behind the screen in a new dress, carrying another gown she grinned and asked, "So, it's whether I wear this little tease..."Morgana looks at her dress in the mirror and then holds up a maroon gown and continued" or give them a night they'll really remember."

I was dazed seeing her as muttered"You will look like a goddess."Morgana smirked hearing that but she still had a pink tint on her cheeks as she spoke"No get out while I change. Also, see you at the celebration."

I was rushed outside as I saw Gwen waiting for me outside as I gave her an awkward smile and went to find Merlin who probably with Gaius as I made my way to Gaius's home where they seemed to be making medicines as Gaius smiled seeing me.

I looked through the herbs on the table as I asked"So Gaius how is Merlin settling in."Gaius sighed and replied, "He is good already caused trouble that too with the prince."I grinned and said, "Interesting fate seems to bring the two together."

Gaius who heard it gave a nod as I asked"Where is Merlin now ?"Gaius gestured upstairs and said"Learning magic from spellbook I gave him."I nodded and said, "I will go help him out."

I went upstairs as I saw him chant"Onhríne achtung bregdan"It telekinetically opened the spellbook in front of him.I couldn't help but clap as Merlin was stunned but seeing it was me he sighed in relief and said"It was you, Hadrian."

I smiled and said, "It seems you are a natural a magic."Merlin grinned hearing that as I continued"But don't get overconfident as you are only starting your magical training. Now try this fire spell."

Merlin was excited as get tried it as flames danced on his hand the accomplishment didn't last long as flames died out. Merlin huffed in frustration as I chuckled and said"No worry you did great for your first try."

Merlin nodded and as he asked, "Back with Kilgrarrah you heard everything didn't you."I sighed and replied, "Yes don't think much about Kilgrarrah said as you will only worry about it endlessly.Also, Arthur may not show it but besides me, he has no other real friends. That is if you exclude all his sycophants."

Merlin scoffed and replied, "But he acts like a spoilt brat."I sadly smiled and replied, "He is a spoilt brat but you will get to know him as time passes."Merlin studied me and questioned, "Why do you talk about it as if I am going to be around him a lot."

I just smiled and replied"Maybe."I waved him goodbye as I went downstairs I saw Gaius was in deep thought as I asked"What are you thinking about Gaius?"

Gaius sighed and answered, "I am just thinking about how many enemies Uther is making Arthur is going to have a hard time in the future."I gave a nod and said, "We can only help them."

I then went and got ready for the celebration all the Court members gather in the Banquet Hall.I saw both Gaius and Merlin enter. While Arthur joking with his mates.I then saw Morgana in her maroon gown with golden crests on her stomach she looked stunning smiling at me, fully aware that I was staring at her.

I smiled and said, "You look wonderful."Morgana gave a teasing smile and asked"Just wonderful."I rolled my eyes and said, "Okay you look like an angel."I walked with her as I saw Arthur staring at her while I was able to make out what he said"My God have mercy on us all."I knew Morgana is not really

Merlin was staring at Morgana as we both walked past by him. Arthur approached us as he to talk to her. Arthur looking for the right words said"Morgana, you look well...great."Morgana smiled at that but internally she was having a hard time understanding the fact that your half-brother has a crush on you.

The celebratory horns soon signaled King Uther's entrance and everyone finds their place at the tables. Uther said"We have enjoyed twenty years of peace and prosperity. It has brought the kingdom and myself many pleasures, but few can compare with the honor of introducing Lady Helen of Mora."

Everyone Applauded as the music began and the Uther and the court take their seats. Helen(Lily) started singing. The members of the court began nodding off to sleep.

As Merlin and I noticed this as we pressed our hands over his ears. Soon cobwebs begin forming over the enchanted sleepers. Merlin notices her staring at Arthur as she walks forward. She pulls a dagger from her sleeve.I cast a tripping jinx as I chanted"et in ruina iter" Helen(Lily) fell on the floor Merlin understood I was helping as he quickly magically dropped the chandelier on Helen(Lily) the court members soon woke up and started to pull the cobwebs off, muttering. Uther and Arthur stood up to see Mary Collins lying on the floor. Mary raises herself up enough to throw the dagger at Arthur. Merlin slows down time to reach Arthur and pull him out of harm's way. The dagger slices into Arthur's chair as they fall to the floor. Mary dies. Uther and Arthur stares at Merlin in awe.

Uther with gratitude spoke"You saved my boy's life. A debt must be repaid."Merlin smiled and replied "Oh, well..." Uther cut in"Don't be so modest. You shall be rewarded."I snorted and stopped myself from laughing.

Merlin tried to deny it "No, honestly, you don't have to, Your Highness."

Uther spoke"No, absolutely. This merits something quite special."Merlin was internally happy as he said"Well..."Uther cut in and said"You shall be rewarded a position in the royal household. You shall be Prince Arthur's manservant."Court applauds as Merlin was shocked as looked at me for help as I quickly looked away.

While Arthur in anger said"Father!" only to be ignored as even Morgana and Gwen clapped with a pitying smile on their face. Arthur and Merlin look away from each other unhappily. While Morgana stood next to me and whispered"You are going to tell me everything when you come to my room tonight."I acted innocent and asked, "I don't understand what you mean?"

Morgana just gave deadpanned look as I sighed and replied"Okay."
