5 Wakanda (2)

When I got to the banquet hall (thanks to a few guards that guided me because King T'Chaka stormed off) I saw Shuri and her family sat at one table. Though I was called for a banquet, only me, their family, and a few guards are in the area. One guard stood out from the rest as she was talking to King T'Chaka when I got there.

Shuri wave at me and asked me to sit at the table. Before I could sit, her mother and brother suddenly stood and said:

"Forgive our rudeness, we forgot to introduce ourselves earlier since we were too excited of Shuri's return. I am Ramonda the wife of T'Chaka and the Queen of Wakanda" she bowed towards me then turned towards her son.

"I am T'Challa, son of T'Chaka and Ramonda, brother to Shuri and future king of Wakanda. I am glad to be of your acquaintance," he said towards me with an arrogant look on his face.

"I'm also glad prince T'Challa, queen Ramonda. Once again my name is Daniel Stark" I bowed towards the both of them. At the side I saw King T'Chaka looking at me while slightly nodding his head.

I sat next to Shuri because she's the only one I know and I thought we were already considered as acquaintance. I also thought it is disrespectful if I suddenly sat beside the crown prince of a kingdom.

"Enough of the formalities, Okoye, can you call the food in"

"Yes your majesty" said by the guard that was talking earlier to King T'Chaka.

While we were eating, Queen Ramonda often asked me about my background, about brother's company while Prince T'Challa often asked me about my studies and training. Apparently he was always training himself for combat and leadership. Of course he was the crown prince. Then King T'Chaka talked about Wakanda, how Wakanda was better than any country that I would be able to see, well I agree on King T'Chaka's view. For the short while that I was here I fell in love with the sight when I first got here and I was always amazed on different things that I'll be able to learn here.

After we ate King T'Chaka gave me a glass of wine or something. I really don't know because it tasted weird. I felt a bit of burning sensation as I swallow the remaining contents as to not be rude. I just thought that maybe it was alcohol and it was part of their tradition or something to make an outsider drink it or something like that.

He then asked Shuri to give me a tour around the place. I heard Shuri also asking if she could bring me to her 'Lab' and if she could show me something. I didn't really hear all that much but King T'Chaka agreed while whispering something to Shuri. She just nodded and quickly pulled me off the table. Before we got out of the room I did a quick bow towards King T'Chaka and his family 'I really don't know their customs so I thought bowing would be the best bet' I thought. King T'Chaka and queen Ramonda looked at me and nodded their heads while Prince T'Challa looking at me intently.

We went out of the banquet hall and Shuri was running then shouted at me "QUICKLY FOLLOW ME!" So with no choice I ran towards Shuri. While walking around I noticed a few people looking at us. Or maybe me, I suppose outsiders are quite rare especially when I was walking around with Princess Shuri. While walking around Shuri asked me about different things, mainly on technology .

I didn't hide anything not that it would really do much since Wakanda is much more advance in technology than anywhere in the world. I realized that Shuri is quite smart, or I could say she was at Genius level. She told me that most of the 'new' technology of Wakanda came from her which amazed me greatly. She also told me that she was about the same age as me.

After talking for a while, Shuri became more open to me, she wasn't as formal as before and for me it felt like I was talking to a friend back home albeit much smarter I guess. I noticed that all she talks about is science, well she is a genius and all but I don't think that it was that good. I haven't seen anyone around our age too so maybe she doesn't have a friend that she could play with so she just focused herself in her experiments. 'Maybe I teach her how to play around later.' I thought to myself as we continue to look around.

She toured me in the place for quite a while then we got into a room, which is quite different than the other areas we went to. It has a super tight security, when I say super I really considered it super. It has password lock, puzzle lock, finger print lock, retina and face recognition, and a key. I asked Shuri if I really could get in this kind of place she smiled and nodded at me while running inside excitedly.

When we got inside, there were a lot of people inside moving around. Most of them are wearing some sort of lab coat. There are also plenty of guards at the entrance of this place. When they saw Shuri they didn't salute, they crossed their arms in their chest. Shuri returned their gesture and I tried to copy her. One of the guards whispered something to her while looking at me. I heard Shuri saying that I have permission from the king. The guard then bowed towards me lets us pass.

"Welcome to my Lab!" Shuri said looking at me. Honestly I was amazed. She has her own lab at her age which makes it amazing. She introduced me to some of the people working there then began taking me to tour her lab.

She first introduced me to her A.I. assistant named Griot. She said he was still a work in progress but the learning ability of Griot is much more impressive than the A.I. at home. Then she showed me one of her invention which was an awesome communication device which can be used anywhere in the world.

Then there was something weird, I think saw it in a cartoon. It was listening device. It was really tiny you wouldn't really see it if you're not looking for it. But Shuri told me that it was still a work in progress at the moment. It can only be used if the one listening is within 2 meters from the target and the audio wasn't all clear at the moment.

Then there was a boots. I asked her about its functions, she said it was suppose to be sound absorbent meaning even if you run fast you wouldn't here anything from it. It was an awesome idea but I feel like the things the she was making all came from spy cartoons so I asked her about it.

Apparently she was secretly watching things from other countries specially the one with the three girls doing the spying I think it was called Totally Spies. There was also the one where the main character was a girl secret agent with his best friend that has a rat with no fur it was called Kim Possible. She was very passionate about the shows and we talked about for quite a while. Then I asked her what she does aside from doing her experiments and watching cartoons. She just told me that all she ever do.

"That's unacceptable you know! I'll teach you other things" I said to her. I thought it was only fair since she taught me a lot of things.

"What other things?" she asked me with a puzzled look on her face.

I borrowed her computer and went to a video sharing website called viewtube. I always watch videos here when I was bored as hell at home. I showed Shuri some of the videos I really liked on the site. As we go to a few more videos, Shuri really liked prank videos. While we were watching I gave her a few ideas to make on how she could use her 'toys' for pranks. I saw writing something down as we watch a few videos which made me laugh I think she was already making plans for her brother. I taught her a few more about the place we lived and my friends. Shuri became really interested in life outside Wakanda that she asked me for my contact information so she could contact me once I got home.

As she was still watching videos I asked her if I could still look around her lab. She just nodded without even looking at me, too focused on what she was watching. As I look around, I saw few designs of hers about a drone and with some kind of camera. Then there was a design which really interests me. It look like a suit of some sort I look at the design and the specs that she was building up and saw that it doesn't make sense. You can't make the suit with the available materials in the world.

"Oh that suit? I was planning on making it with vibranium" Shuri sneaked up on me and said.

"GOD! You scared me. What's vibranium?"I was surprised by hearing her suddenly beside me then I asked her. It was the first time I've heard of that material.

"Well Father did tell me you can know so I'll tell you. We believe it was a mineral that came from space millions of years ago. It was the strongest metal known to man. It has many applications, from being the strongest weapons, shields, even as a power source. It absorbs mechanical energy so any force that you apply to it will just be absorbed," Shuri told me continuously about vibranium 'Ah she's in her scientist mode again.' I thought as I continue to listen to her explanations.

"While you're at it you can connect the boots that you showed me earlier to the suit? Since this looks like something you would use for spying why don't we call the boots 'sneakers'? Get it?"

Shuri just gave me an odd look. "Come on, 'sneakers' 'cause it will be used to sneak to people?" I explained to her.

"Ohh! That's a good name"

"It was supposed to be a joke but forget it," I said dejectedly.

"What? How? I don't get it," she said with a puzzled look

"There was already a type of shoes called sneakers." We went to her computer and I showed her what I was talking about.

"Ohh! Now it makes sense, it's kind of funny don't worry" She told me while giggling a bit seeing my dejected look.

"Anyway you can also make boots and the suit Nano-tech too" Trying to change the subject I told her.

"Why? That would just make things harder."

"You can use Nano-Tech to hide it into items so you can bring it anywhere with you. From what you told me vibranium is a very flexible metal. It's not hard as steel and it's more of a cloth. You also wouldn't always wear the suit right? Then you can prepare for unexpected circumstances. It would be weird to tell your enemies to wait because you're still wearing your helmet. Also base on the properties of vibranium it stores mechanical energy right? Can you make it discharge the stored mechanical energy? I mean it wouldn't just store the mechanical energy to its vibrations forever. I think vibranium discharges the energy after some time has passed. Maybe it's also good to know the threshold of how much energy it can really store. I think it's not unlimited. There would be a point that the vibrations that are keeping the energy would be too strong that would result to the metal breaking or worst case it would explode the stored energy."

As I tell Shuri what I think would be a cool project, I can see her eyes shining while looking at me. Mid way through my explanation she began to write on her notepad. I really wonder where she always kept it. Her dress doesn't seem to have pockets or anything.
