1 Chapter 1: Not Really Interested In Love

You always hear people's lives being this rainbows and sunshine of a life. Where they find the love of their life... and how they start a family. You always hear that with your friends showing off their relationships.. well I never really had an interest in love to begin. Right now I'm here in a restaurant with my "friends" we aren't really close or anything.. and I honestly don't enjoy being with them. I just came because I needed to eat.

"Hey. you've been awfully quiet Sofia!" One of them pokes an interest to me.

"Oh ya..." I said nervously.

"What's wrong Sofia? You don't look very well? Have you been sleeping? I mean look at those bags under your eyes." Another one of them pointed out my bags.

It's because I've been working so much in the bakery.. after my bitch ass father died and left us with a load of debt... I only have my grandma left.. and she's not in the best condition... that's why I took upon myself to work there 24 hours... that's why I haven't been getting much sleep...

"Oh it's nothing..." I said to them, giggling a little. "I guess I've just been busy with a lot of things that's all.

"You better take care of yourself girl." They cheered."Ya. How are you going to get a boyfriend now? If you look horrible. I mean look at your long blonde hair, beautiful eyes, and your face." One of them complimented me. Making me feel a little at ease.

"Don't waste your looks dear!" The girl beside me patted my back.

"I'll have to go now... sorry guys... I'm kind of like have to work for our bakery." I stood up from my seat and started to make a dash for the outside.

"Oh alright then. Take care." They said as I started to leave.

I never really enjoyed their company.. all they talked about was these cheesy romance crap. I'm not saying that I really hated them I mean they did treat me to a meal which I do appreciate. It's just that I'm not really interested in love... like at all... I really have other prioritizes.. you know like things that are far more important than getting laid and getting a boyfriend.

While they worry about their boyfriends cheating and how they are backstabbing each other. I'm worrying about how I can save money by learning cheap recipes... I just never really have the time. I mean it is an option to be with a rich and handsome guy but I'm not really that type of person. I only go in a relationship with people that I love. I love them for who they are. Not for their money.

As I continued running I catch the attention of a guy.. staring at me with an innocent smile.

"Hello! Are you single? Can I have your number?" He asks me innocently making me stop on my tracks.

He looked really handsome.. very young and has a very clean face... I mean he probably has a line of girls waiting to date him.. but why did he ask me? I looked behind the corner to see a group of girls acting all giddy and fangirling.. who is obviously following this guy... glaring at me intently like they want to kill I'm not here to cause drama or any trouble so I said bluntly.

"I'm sorry I'm not really interested in a relationship. Maybe you can pick from those girls behind you. They seem to like you better than me." I said to him pointing to the girls behind me as they started to hide when he turned around.

I then turned around walking away from the situation... I might start some drama with them if I stay longer.. also I'll be late for my shift! I ran and dashed towards the cafe... as I turned around to see the cafe from the other side of our bakery. Packed and crammed with people drinking and eating cakes. As I turned to our bakery... Empty... That Red Velvet Cafe on the other side of our bakery is seriously going to make us bankrupt.. like soon enough... They are taking all the customers.. And the owner of that cafe is the most annoying person I've ever met.

Like I wish I could kill him...

FLASHBACKS

"Hey sweets." A man in front of our bakery catcalls me... leaning towards the glass case with a smirk on his face.

"Can I help you?" I said in a semi-aggressive tone.

"Just wondering why a pretty lady such as yourself is working in this dump of a bakery." He would look around tapping on the tables that were very dusty. "Someone like you should be working in a place where you'll be treated nicely." He would point towards the cafe on the other side of ours. "Work for me... I'll treat you nicely." He winked at me. Hinting other things..

"Listen... I'm also wondering why a pretty lady such as myself is talking to trash like you because if you think trash-talking MY grandma's bakery will do you any favors." I grabbed his tie pulling towards my face."I got news for you buddy. I'm called a bitch for a reason. So stay away from me and my bakery. If you know what's good for you. Also get a better fashion sense. Any woman who falls for you would probably just want your money. Just saying." I gave him the cold shoulder.

"Why you bitch! You're just a fucking slut anyways! I hope your bakery shuts down." He threw a tantrum kicking the table near him.

"Listen, buddy, If you don't get out of my bakery I'm calling the cops. Otherwise get your trash self out of here." I said to him sternly nudging him to go away.

"You'll regret this!" He shouted as he walked away from our bakery.

FLASHBACK END

Well... I guess I did pay the price. After that.. he trash-talked our bakery... that's why nobody wants to go to our bakery.

Apparently he was a big shot man who had a lot of connections... he easily spread rumors about the bakery causing it to be in this state right now... I'm honestly just too tired to deal with it at this point...Although I am a little bit worried... If this keeps up... we'll be bankrupted... We won't be able to pay for the debt that my father has... how is my grandma going to be taken care of now...

Everything's just filling me with worry at this point... that's why I don't really have the time to deal with love or whatever.

I mean was it really my fault.. that he tried to pick me up with this cheesy pick-up line... I never really had a say in that. Standing there isn't exactly my style... But still... I have to keep this business alive or else... we ar-

I hear a soft and raspy voice behind me approaching... "Are you okay? Sofia."
