Gold Mission 01

It has been two hours since I was sitting atop a small tree in the forest far from snowflake city, filling my mana core.

When it was full I decided to go through the genesis crystal's content first, which would help me decide my next destination until silent reaper has assign me my mission.

When I opened the crystal a holographic image of my fake persona appeared in front of me.

The image which was shown was same as the one in my regular Id of baron, 5 Feet height, short black hair and blue eyes wearing a long shining black coat with panther face symbol engraved on my chest representing my barony title.

My fake name was Erwin penthera, which belonged to the fake nobility created by genesis itself in faraway corner of eastern continent.

Sliding my personal details, I opened the menu where various options were visible.

The crystal worked as perfect replacement for the mobile phone from my previous world, it required mana to function and didn't had any screen, instead it projected everything on air, similar to 3 dimensional holographic technology which existed on my previous world.

The crystal had many runes inscribed on its surface which must have been the work of some pseudo rune master.

Pseudo rune master were the peoples who inspired to become rune master having vast knowledge of runes and were able to inscribe basic runes and create utility based items but far from what a rune master could do.

I choose the first option [Contacts] and the holographic screen changed in front of me showing a horizontal list of contacts.

For now there was only silent reaper's name and right next to it, there was a sign to message and call.

Ignoring other icons I clicked on the (i) icon in the top right corner of holographic window which showed me the details of the contact tab.

Without waiting further I entered the name of shadow empress and did a quick search, I wasn't expecting much information anyway and the crystal didn't disappoint me.

A silver member Id appeared in the search tab definitely belonging to the demon princess Amelia but there was nothing else mentioned there, not even her fake image was visible.

'The last time silent reaper mentioned she was a gold rank member, they must have demoted her recently due to her action, serves that bitch right but this is not enough punishment, just wait till I get strong.' I thought existing the [Contact] tab.

Skipping the [mission list] and [Information center] tab for now, I opened the 4th tab [Pending action] where 3 pending silver mission task was reflecting.

The 5th tab [Issued mission status] was not useful to me because I didn't have any active mission right now but its details mentioned that it was there to keep track of mission selected by member and through this tab we could submit our claims for successful mission completion in future.

In 6th and last tab [Others], there were many useful facilities provided, such as [Reinforcement call], [Treasury], [Contact Genesis agent], [Raise grievance] and other useful icons, closing this tab I proceeded to examine the 2nd tab which was [Mission list].

So, there are two more level to missions above gold rank, I have a long way to go.

I don't have to complete any silver ranked mission as instructed by silent reaper but I opened that tab anyway to check the level of difficulty of silver missions.

Most of the silver ranked missions were of assassination, search for missing person, stealing some valuable items and many more which didn't interest me.

The entities which were listed on the assassination list, ranged all the way from earl ranked demons and humans to weak marquees ranked demon.

As per the decree of demon king Lucifer, no human in the demon domain would be given the title above earl and thus no matter how powerful a human become, he would always be beneath demons in terms of authority.

Losing interest in silver rank missions, I opened the list of gold rank missions and arranged the list of mission according to difficulty.

I saw the name of quite a few earl ranked demons that has surpassed the power level of that title long ago but didn't get promoted.

As per the current standard of this world, earl ranked demons must have immortal physique which was peak of mortal physique, because after that came mythril physique which was said to be domain of gods.

The possessors of mythril physique were also given the title 'Legendary' and such figures were given the title of marquees among demons.

Above the marquees ranked demons came duke ranked demons, who were only beneath demon king himself.

It was an rule enforced by demon king lucifer that whosever wants to become the duke, must challenge any of the four present duke for life and death battle and snatch their place but in past 100 years, even after countless challenges, the hierarchy has not once changed nor any demon at the rank of duke has died since ascension of demon king Lucifer to the sovereignty, which further shows his strength.

Just thinking about the possibility of fighting such opponents, a burst of adrenaline coursed through my by body and once again due to intense fluctuation in my emotions, the blue sky turned black threatening to rain lightening.

Quickly taking hold of my emotions, I dispersed the black clouds gathered in the sky and looked at the easiest gold rank mission I could find.

There were at least hundred missions listed on the network, the old missions were continuously disappearing and new missions kept appearing simultaneously.

I filtered for the easiest and nearest missions to my location and one such mission caught my attention.

The mission was titled as Territorial war, nothing much was mentioned at the surface of mission window other than that I have to help one side win against other in a territorial war which involved the dispute over the territory of rich of mana crystal mine.

In order to see details about the mission and accept it, i needed to pay 5 GCC points and thus I purchased my first golden mission.

[Mission Requirement: There has been unrest between Earl Simon and Earl Coslen regarding the ownership of mana crystal mine at co-ordinates 01:11:43. Earl simon has declared territorial war on Earl coslen which has been going on for past 2 months.

Earl simon has requested an aid from genesis in the upcoming fight against Earl coslen, the reason this mission has been classified as gold is because genesis member may end up fighting against 4 immortal ranked physique experts]

The interpretation of co-ordinates was simple, number 1 was assigned to eastern continent where I was right now, and it interpreted as 1st continent, 11th kingdom and 43rd territory.

In a single continent there were hundreds of kingdoms and every kingdom was governed by single marquees ranked demon, in every kingdom there can be at most 50 territories which were assigned to the demons or humans below the rank of marquees.

The 43rd territory was domain of Earl simon and 30 percent of disputed mana crystal mine resided in his territory but that greedy bastard would always invade the territory of Earl coslen and thus the situation of war has arisen.

Apparently the management of all four continents was assigned to four respective dukes but they hardly ever interfered in the continents matters and everything was handled by their subordinates and marquise's.

The eastern continent on which I was now was the dominion of 4th duke genos, and it was not difficult for him to manage it because of his ability which was necromancy.

The deadline of mission completion was 4 days from now on and if I accept this mission now, genesis would arrange my travel from my current location to the territory of earl simon.

After going through the details of mission I looked at the reward panel below and saw the reward for completion of mission, it was three, rank 10 beast core, 1,000 mana crystal and 1,000 gold coins.

Mana crystals were the crystalized form of already existing mana from the atmosphere in its purest form which took at least thousands of years to accumulate.

Mana crystal in this world could be used to instantaneously refill the mana cores of beasts, humans and demons or they can also be traded as currency, apart from this they were also used for forging weapons, creating supportive items in the hands of rune master.

They were graded between rank 1 to 6 depending on how old they were, the grade 6 was the highest while grade 1 was lowest, reward for the mission was for grade 3 mana cores.

Not bothered by the reward I accepted the mission and within a minute received a permit on my fake baron Id to travel from nearest intra continental teleportation gate to the 43rd territory.

I was currently in 23rd territory which was governed by Earl oslov and according to the globe crystal and my flying speed, it would take me full day to reach the nearest city where I would meet my escort.

Intra continental teleportation gate were not so rare because they could be built by any rune master and demon king has thoroughly used rune master's ability to build at least one intra-continental teleportation gate in every territory on every continent, even if there is huge distance between two territories, the same nod technology can be used to travel from one gate to another.

In order to make inter-continental teleportation gate, expertise of Rune Grandmaster was required because in between continents there was nothing but vast sea and it was not possible to employ the nod technology their because of assault of nature and powerful sea beasts who could destroy such things easily.

Inter-continental teleportation gate were different from intra-continental teleportation gate because they only comprised of one gate and a portal would appear once someone has entered the destination co-ordinates, whereas intra-continental teleportation gate required two teleportation gate and exact co-ordinates of both locations.

Inter-continental teleportation gate also required tremendous amount of mana to function and a special key to activate it, which would be in the possession of powerful demon such as demon duke.

An intra-continental teleportation gate required activation of two teleportation gates at the same time; one is sender while other will be receiver.

It was not possible to enter and exit from the same gate at the same time, on top of that it limit the number of passenger at a time to only one, such flaws were not seen in inter-continental teleportation gate.

I had received the information about abilities of Earl simon and coslen from mission details and found that both of them has merged with the rank 12/Legendary beast core.

My chances of winning while fighting both of them at the once were negligible but both of them were mana users therefore the fight ahead won't be as difficult as when I fought earl jabel.

Flying continuously for next 15 hours, I finally arrived at my destination, which was 'Blackwater city' which was also the capital city of 23rd territory.
