13 Covenant

The covenant just arrived and this made the captain really nervous, to escape them they needed to turn the ship around, but that would take too long so he is currently freaking out, but in the middle of is line of thought Alex asks.

Alex: What if we nuke them?

The covenant keep coming closer and are now 10 seconds from weapons range.

Captain: Sh*t, we are too close, but we might still survive, Fire silo 6!

Just after those words a single missile is launched and hit the target, but when the flash of light caused by the nuke was gone, they were left speechless, the covenant ship was still there!

Alex: I was already expecting this, Dr. Halsey I have a ...*boomm*....

They were interrupted by the start of the fight.

Alex: Dr. Halsey as I was saying, I have a plan, each team could use the new suit to fly to the enemy base while carrying one nuke, after that we all place the nukes inside the ship, by entering through the hole made by the MAC,and activate them when we are outside!

Dr. Halsey: Alright! But everyone needs to be careful!

Alex: Understood!

They all dot ready, Alex told them all the weaponry the enemy has and the danger of they would be when they are flying outside, he hoped that no one died.

They all left, at first it was easy, they used the broken parts of their ship that were flying around and hid behind them, floating to the covenant ship, but near the end of flight, when they had to leave their cover, the enemy defenses started firing at them, luckily due to Alex information, they were already ready for those defenses and after some time they got trough it.

After all 74 Spartans were inside Alex had a crazy idea, instead of blowing up the ship why not steal it? After all they were 74 Spartans with systems incorporated, but the risk was still high they had only 70% chances of winning without casualties but Alex decided to risk it, they were in a disadvantage of 1:100, meaning 74 Spartans to 7400 covenant, but if they are a success UNSC would have be able to acquire this technology at the very beginning, and so Alex gave the instruction to everybody.

Everyone moved to their objectives, in Alex case they would take over the command room, while they were on their way they killed a lot of covenants, some holding an energy shield, other that were just small, almost like a goblin, other very tall holding blades, that sometimes turned invisible, but none of them escaped the fury of Alex and his team, it took them 2 hours of killing until they arrived at the command room, they easily killed everything inside and deactivated the weapons, after that they got ready and went on a killing spree again, in just 8 hours the ship was totally clean of covenants, all the 74 Spartans survived and were okay, Alex knew that this covenants were only the weak ones and that is why they were easy to deal with, but Alex couldn't suppress a smile and so Alex reported the events that toke place inside the ship to Dr. Halsey and, at first all he received was yelling, telling him that was not the mission and the dangerous they were exposed, but after Alex described the covenant technology to Dr. Halsey she immediately forgot about is insubordination and congratulated him because of the success of his mission.

After 1 hour of talking to Dr. Halsey, he went to the command room and spent 2 hours understanding how the ship worked, with the help of Sara, and after 10 more minutes he used the hiper space driver to allow them to arrive at their base, after he did that UNSC Commonwealth followed behind them, in just a matter of minutes they arrived and left the ship for the scientists to study.

They were all given purple hearts for their services and were all promoted, all of them were Petty Officer Third Class, with the exception of squad leaders and John that were Petty Officer Second Class and Alex who was Petty Officer First Class, Alex was one rank above John now because of his successful idea of taking over the enemy ship.

Everyone was given one day of rest, since the war with the covenant is still going and, by the looks of it, it is getting worse, but they still were very happy, Alex took this moment to think and arrived at the conclusion that it would be better for the Spartans to have their own battle ship that they could use as a advanced post and, at the same time, living quarters. This idea was discussed with the Instructor and Dr. Halsey, although they initially refused Alex told them that the enemy ships could read the hoper space radiations and arrive at their base by doing that, also the performance of the 74 Spartans really amazed them, so after a while they agreed, but only under on condition, both of them would go with them, Alex understood why Dr. Halsey wanted to go, but the instructor he was not sure.

And so Alex after having this discussion went to sleep, he was exhausted...
