6 The Quest

The corps of the woman is deathly dry, the expression of agony clear on her face, she meets her ends in a painful death, Guts lift her body and puts it down on the ground to inspect her much better, from her clothes he finds it she is a simple villager.

He did find scratches mark on her neck, but no blood is oozing from them.

Another voice was made from well, and this time guts reinforce himself with magic, with his sword in hand, he used a Sight enhancement spell, this spell he creat to make his sight a lot sharper with another addition to see what the average human eyes can't see and that is magic inside bodies or objects that have it.

Any magic user can feel it but can't see it unless the mana is condensed in attack or a spell or in any other form.

What he sees is a small figure, it's a child and alive too, what kid looks no older than 7 is doing there and close to a corp in a well, that guts thought now while tightening his hand on his sword and cast a spell on himself for defence.

"Hey kid, are you alright ?" Guts ask.

When the adventurer sees the appearance of the child more clearly, short blonde hair, villager clothes, nothing special in this area, but the strange thing is his magic, is big compared to his age

After holding the hand of the kid to get him out of the well, Guts feels disturbing magic trying to enter his body, but can't because of the spell he cast earlier.

He throws the kid out on the open field to be more prepared, holding himself from striking him with his sword.

"Sir, you did hurt me, why?" the kid speak in a calm childish voice.

his voice lacked emotion, which gives a way to what he is, either broken minded from trauma, a Monster or Worst he is a Possessed child.

The kid starts walking in Gut's direction

"Sir, can You help me ?".

When the kid reaches 3 meters to Guts, the latter sees a blur coming his way, thankfully he was vigilant and reacted faster.

Hiss.

Guts without even wasting another second he slashed his sword.

sound of something hard clashed again another, Guts sword was blocked by the grey pale hand of a lady, her face looking not much better than corp, her hair floating in the wind.

"You Bastard, Disturbing Me while I have my meal ?" the monster speaks with a cracked voice.

Guts cast multiple spells, on his sword and body, to enhance his physical strength and sense.

Roar.

After finishing his preparation it was only 2 seconds passed, and the monster rushed at high speed after feeling a sense of danger rising from Guts.

In instant, she was already in front of the human with her hand in pulling to give a strong thrust with her sharp fingernails to his throat, Guts expecting her coming, evaded with a sidestep to her open side with his sword already in the air.

In one single strike from up to down.

The monster was down, cut in half in the torso, making the pool of blood under its corp, but not single drop of blood touched him.

The smell of blood fills the air, strange things happen after, and smoke rises from the place blood touched, but the thing even stranger is the two halves shrunk and become the kid from before.

Guts get shocked, and after a few seconds to calm down, he makes sure what he sees is true.

"strange" Guts said in confusion.

To test more he takes iron junk he finds it on the way inside that blood.

It wasn't instant but the iron is melting little by little.

He was planning to take the head as a way to prove him finishing the quest but just took both ears, pointy ears, not of human.

He walks around the village once more to see if he ever finds another clue or monster to slay.

Guts find nothing, so he prepares himself to go back.

After mounting his horse and on his way outside the village he sees a shadow of a human between the trees but the time is night, and he can't see, just when he wants to use a spell to help him, in the blink of an eye, the shadow is gone.

"Everything in this quest is strange now", Guts think so, while making sure no danger on his way out of this forest, making mental note about what happened.

Just like that after a few hours, he is back in the capital, he did encounter a few monsters on the way but nothing is too dangerous.
