6 Love Is Blind

"Don't leave meee!" shouted the queen while crying as strong as she can and hugging Shawn with all her strength.

"I need to, you know why. It's the only way" said Shawn with an awkward smile while silently thanking the genie inside his mind for having given him a body devoid of bone because he was sure if he had them they would be broken by now.

*SOOOB SOOOB*

"Don't gooooo. Remain with meeeee" cried Prismin even louder than before.

'Sigh we have been going on like this for over an hour' sighed mentally Shawn while trying to wriggle away from her deathly.

I suppose you're wondering how our protagonist ended up in such a shitty situation, right? Well, it all started when...

One month before...

"I'm-I'm" mumbled Shawn while sweating. He couldn't think of anything to say after all, how could you explain being in the royal room situated in the deepest part of the nest? The queen seemed to be intelligent and weak to flaunt so maybe with a bit of reasoning he could convince her that he was harmless and make her let him go but the problem was... he didn't know what to say. He has never been good at lying, he was too honest... or simply dumb.

"I-I was wandering around the forest when I suddenly saw a huge beautiful hole and, seeing how beautiful it was, I thought it surely was the nest of someone beautiful so, driven by curiosity, I decided to enter and I must say I don't regret it in the least. If I hadn't entered it I wouldn't have met you. You are so beautiful that when I see you my heart don't stops banging" said Shawn trying to not make the queen know he was lying even though he was saying so much bullshit. He began to sweat even more than before when he noted that not only she was not responding him but, she was staring at him carefully with a cold eyes too.

*Gulp*

'Shit, she's not falling for it. I'm screwed' the queen wasn't falling for it and, after all, it was an excuse so stupid that only an equally stupid person or well, ant, would have fallen for it.

[You didn't really say such a stupid excuse, did you?] mocked Shantia from inside is head.

'...If you have a better excuse why don't you say it?'

'You don't have anything to say? Then shut up!' cried Shawn inside is head. He was so tense that he looked like a tree. It's not that he was afraid of dying, he knew that with his special body it wouldn't have been possible to the queen to kill him but he didn't want to feel pain nonetheless. He knew that, even if she wasn't capable of killing him, she would have still been able to make him feel pain so he wanted nothing more than to absorb her without fighting but her from her cold expression it seemed impossible.

"What you're saying... is true?" at least it seemed impossible until Pismir, the queen, said so with a timid expression and... red checks? Well, it is hard to say if an ant checks are red but from her expression and timid tone it seemed to be the case.

"...Yes?" answered Shawn hesitantly.

"...You weren't lying? Do you really think that before I didn't notice your eyes were wavering?" when she said so Shawn's heart missed a beat.

"I-I can explai-"

"You don't need to"

Thinking that she had discovered he was lying Shawn tried to defend himself but before he could Prismin stopped him. She approached him even more than before and, while Shawn was quivering and slowly retreating, she said something that left him completely flabbergasted.

"You don't have to worry, I won't hurt you. How could I hurt someone after he confessed his love to me?"

"...What?! But I didn't!"

When Prismin heard his words she frowned slightly and rebuked him softly "You don't need to hide it. I've seen how you were looking at me, your eyes were wavering and you couldn't stop trembling. At first I thought it was because you were terrorized but, after you said those words, I realized it was because you have been so charmed by my beauty that you wanted to touch me but were trying to resist to not tarnish my royal honor". Her words were so much less informal and cold than before that she seemed a completely different person... or ant. While before she resembled a proud and cold peacock who viewed everyone as nothing more than shit now she seemed to be a cute and timid... ant? Her words and manners were so human that if one were to talk to her without seeing her aspects they would easily exchange her for a normal girl.

"I promised myself that I wouldn't have thought of nothing more than vengeance until I would have made those disgusting humans pay for what they did to me but now that you confessed to me... I don't know what to say. I must say you too are really beautiful but... we belong to different species. It wouldn't work between we, I'm sorry. But we can remain friends, right?"

'...I've been friend zoned by an ant?'

[HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA] when Shantia heard Prismin words she laughed loudly before twisting the knife in the wound [Who would have ever thought that you would have been friend zoned even by an ant. It seems you would never find a girlfriend hahahahahaha]

'... Shut up'

"I... understand, I'm not up to you. I'm weak. For now I'll respect your decision and I will withdraw but, one day, I'll return and you're become mine" said Shawn with a resolute tone while trying to seem hurt. He thought if he accepted to be only friends she would become suspicious so he decided to make her believe he was going on a travel to become stronger and will return when he think he is at her level.

He turned around and began to walk toward the entrance but, before he could exit, she stopped him "Wait!".

Shawn stopped abruptly and turned around with an awkward smile "...What?".

Prismin turned timidly her head away to avoid Shawn gaze and, with cheeks becoming increasingly red, said in a weak voice "...If what you say is true and you really want to become stronger... I can help you".

"... And how could you help me?" said Shawn hesitantly. The only thing he really wanted to do was to as far away from that monster as possible but he couldn't say it to her, right?

"I can teach you this... my love" said Prismin and showed him her pincers. They were... glowing? They seemed to be surrounded by a strange light.

Her words left him speechless, especially the "my love" part, but then, after recovering, he saw what she wanted to show him and... he became speechless again. If he was in his old world he probably wouldn't have know what was happening and would have thought that they were only glowing pincers but being in the Dragon Ball world and having a magical body made him understand immediately that they were... surrounded by ki. It was a very small amount but it was undoubtedly ki.

"I can teach you to do this too. It would probably be hard to learn and you will need at least a month but it will make you extremely stronger"

"...Yes, please teach me!" at first Shawn wanted to refuse but, when he saw her expression that seemed to say she wouldn't have accepted no for an answer, he accepted trying to sound as exited as he could.

'Before she said we weren't made for each other and now she want to train me? Why do I feel like it is only an excuse to pass a month with me? Women are a really mystery, even ant's one'

[Hahahahahahaha it seems you have finally found a girlfriend. You only have one small problem, she is an ant. Hahahahahahaha]

'...SHUT UP!'

"Now came with me, we need to go out. I don't want to damage the nest" Prismin lifted him with her right front leg and began to run towards the exit.

[If you want to absorb her this is the perfect occasion]

'...No, it's better if I learn how to use ki first'

[It's only an excuse, right? You don't want to absorb her. She is a monster]

'...It's true, she is a monster but she didn't do nothing to me. I don't want to absorb her without a reason and, even through absorbing John didn't change me I fear absorbing her will and I don't want to look like an ant'

[...You aren't good at making excuse, you know?]

One month later...

And so this is how we arrived at this point.

"Becomes strong quickly and return to me, my love! I can't wait to get married" shouted Prismin with watering eyes while waving her right front legs.

"Yeah, sure. Byeee" shouted Shawn in return while running away as fast as he could hoping to not see his "future wife" ever again.
