27 Chapter 26: Is it too late now to say sorry?

If there's one thing you'd expect from a fight between a super-magical-powered student and an android, it was going to be destructive.

"Smash!"

It was evident when dozens of trees got uprooted from the ground, the earth shattering, as Koga punched out a fist towards Zenkichi, sending out powerful gales of air like she was a certain blond hero.

Zenkichi widened his eyes at the attack and quickly buried both of his feet under the ground, tightened his abs, crossed both of his arms over his face, and faced the wind head on. His healing factor quickly helped him deal with the cuts and force of the wind dealing damage to his body.

And just when he thought it was over, another air tunnel hit him again and then again, and again in rapid speed.

When he took a quick peek through between his arms, with twitching eyes, he saw Koga spamming him with her air punches.

The force of her punches was something that can blow a tank away. Although his healing factor was helping him, and his Mark of Infinity could make it that he would last for days even an entire month, but this was a test that only needed for a few hours at best.

"Naze, I thought you said no powers! Just hand to hand combat! So what the fuck is this?!" Zenkichi grumbled and complained towards Naze, who was safely far away from them by a fifty meters on top of a tree with binoculars in her hands.

"She isn't." She managed to hear his complain from the ear piece in Zenkichi right ear and responded with her usual nonchalant voice. "She isn't using any of the special mods I've installed in her body, trust me. Using one of them can cause a natural disaster to happen."

"That's just her physical strength. I might've overestimated you and thought to boost Koga-chan's physical prowess, by about 400% or 5x, for a fair fight between you two."

"Well shit." Zenkichi grinned. "If you think so highly of me, looks like I have to live up to your expectation."

"Hmph." Naze remained calm however, her cheeks flushed red, and she took several glances away. "You best do. You are my man after all, I can only expect the best out of you."

His lips curled up as eyes started to glow red, taking a deep breath, he eyed Koga's fists.

Logically thinking, there should be a momentary lapse of her attack by switching her two fists but the switching between two of her fists was so fast that you'd think that she didn't even throw them but was controlling wind itself to attack.

No one would be able to catch the lapse of her except for a certain amount of people.

Zenkichi was one of them.

With his Hawkeye eyes, he was able to perfectly see the movements of her fist.

'There!' Without any hesitation, he raised his left leg up and stomped down on the ground.

"What the-?!" Koga cried out in surprise as the earth beneath her trembled, an earthquake she realized, and a very powerful one as the ground beneath her shattered and started to split apart between her legs. Immediately she made to jump out of the way and when she did, the earthquake stopped.

'Shit.' Koga instantly realized what happened as Zenkichi appeared right in front of her, both of his arms coiled back and punched out towards her.

She blocked them with her arms however, she was sent flying but she managed to somersault and land in her feet. Unfortunately however, before she could gather herself properly, Zenkichi was already on her ass with a kick.

They began to dance with their fists, elbows, feet, legs and knees around each other. Blood and flesh flying all around so much that it could've already killed someone, if they didn't have high speed regeneration.

Naze observed the fight between her best friend and sex friend through the lenses of her binoculars as she sat comfortably in her tree.

"In observation, Zenkichi Hitoyoshi looks to be in equal physical strength against Itami Koga; who is at the level of punching with the force of 50,000 kg at her best, can move at a speed of almost breaking the sound barrier." She wrote it all down in her notepad.

"With these statistics, it's certain that she is capable of killing Medaka Kurokami, who's potentially to be the most powerful girl in school that surpasses even Oudo Miyakonojou." Her eyes flashed in pride, at herself for being able to artificially enhanced someone to such a level and her bestest friend for bringing her max potential out just a couple of days after her modifications.

'Koga-chan's abnormality might not help her much in combat but in certain situations, it shines more brightly than even the most powerful abnormalities!'

Itami Koga was originally a Normal but back in middle school, when they became friends, her true Abnormality was revealed and it was her desire to be abnormal, which allowed her to survive Naze's experimentation.

Her project name of Best Pain, is a reference to the nature of her modifications: her pain receptors were not only kept, but enhanced. This is to keep track of her energy so that she doesn't waste it, as her robotic muscles drain her body's energy quickly; she can only move at maximum speed for about three minutes. For this reason, her abilities is inferior to Shigusa Takachiho, whose movements are natural.

But, as she had been enhanced once more, her limits of moving three minutes at maximum speed's been reduced to one minute.

"At the rate Koga is doing, she won't last long. I have to warn both her and Zenkichi, so he won't accidentally kill her. If they don't listen..." Naze held up a red button. Her lips curled into an evil smirk. "Well, they'll soon learn that their earpieces has a second function than just communication."

She shook her head and went back on her observation and notes.

"Unbelievably however, despite her modifications, Hitoyoshi is handling her quite well. It might be because he stands above her in martial arts. Although Koga-chan is very well accomplished in martial arts, specifically Boxing and Muay Thai, Hitoyoshi seem to know the same and more hand-to-hand martial arts."

"Overall, Hitoyoshi seem to be like Koga. Originally categorized as a Normal; he shows superhuman strength, speed, flexibility, a tactical mind, knowledge about unarmed martial arts and possibly even with weapons. Abnormality, possible limitless growth like Medaka Kurokami?" Naze hummed.

'Is it possible that, through years of exposure and desire to catch up to his powerful and talented childhood friend, Zenkichi Hitoyoshi had managed to awakened a power similar but inferior to Kurokami? Is that even possible?'

'Abnormality have mostly been known to be either innate or artificially created. Almost all Abnormals have been reported to show their Abnormality at a young age, with some exceptions like Koga and even she only managed to awaken a low tiered Abnormality, while Hitoyoshi....' She was so lost in thought, that she forgot all about the current situation between the two fighters.

Zenkichi took a sharp breath in as Koga's fist embedded itself into his stomach, he could feel his organs squirming erratically, like they were about to explode, but his healing factor was already healing the damage.

So he gritted his teeth, blood staining his mouth, grabbed Koga's forearm with his right hand, while his left blocked her other fist aiming for his face, and used that moment to raise his right knee to strike her locked arm.

A sickening snap was heard as bone, blood and flesh split apart, Koga's scream of pain echoed throughout the forest with tears in her eyes.

But Zenkichi didn't let that stop him. Letting go of her damaged arm he lowered his right foot, turned, and lashed out his left leg with a reverse high kick to her face cheek that sent her flying to and through several trees.

"I gotta admit, you're much more stronger compared to before. You would have beaten me black and blue, if I didn't get stronger as well."

Zenkichi waited for Koga to come out and attack but as a minute went by without her coming out, he decided to check on her.

"It hurts...It hurts...." His eyes widened as his eyes landed on her. She was cradling her still injured arm, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Zenkichi didn't even think.

He immediately went to her side, hugging her by the side of her uninjured arm, whilst ignoring her protests and violent reaction.

"No! Get away from me! Ahh! No! You brute! You pervert! You–!"

He grabbed her fatally injured arm, making her freeze up.

Before she could say anything, Zenkichi held her injured arm as gentle as he could and used his time magic to reverse the damage.

Koga watched and felt as her injured arm began to heal itself up.

She flinched as she felt Zenkichi close to her face. Before she could say anything, she heard his voice, apologetic and regretful, whispering into her ear.

"I'm sorry..."

"...."

Koga was silent. But the tension around her body disappeared and she eased herself into him.

They continued in that position for some time.
