Chapter 1

Within the emptiness of a dark room, a deep voice called out in announcement. "Lord Zvei, you must get ready for the morning mass."

The four confined walls reverberated with the sound of curtains being drawn back. A young man was found sleeping soundly in a spacious king-sized bed when a brilliant sunshine was released through the windows.

The young man exhibited a slight frown of displeasure as the rays of sunlight showered him in small patches of heat.

....Light?

He rolled over toward the direction of the sunlight and his frown grew bigger. He mumbled, perplexed and slightly irritated.

Who turned the light on?

His eyelids slowly flickered open, and he saw an old man, who appeared to be a servant, standing in front of him, with a proud smile.

"What?..." The young man sat up and looked at the old man in confusion. Who was this old geezer standing in his room?

"The morning mass will start in 20 minutes. You must not be late Lord Zvei."

"Morning mass....?"

"Yes."

"Why would I attend a morning mass?"

"Because you promised brother Richard last night that you'd arrive today to see him start off the ceremony.

"Promised?" The young man was confused but even more so when he coincidentally glimpsed his own reflection through the mirror right beside him. And through it he saw a face that bore no likeliness to his at all. His raven hair had changed to a long-silver-white color, and his brown eyes had been replaced with orbs that resembled melted gold. His skin was fair and doey as cotton. And his lips were red like rose petals.

This wasn't his original appearance.

"Lord Zvei, did you forget your plans for today?"

Zvei?

It was a name he had recognized immediately. But if it was who he thought it was, it couldn't be possible. It shouldn't be, yet his thoughts wondered and he couldn't help testing his theory out. In an attempt to grasp situation, he slowly repeated the name.

".... Zvei Anderson?"

The old servant responded in a voice full of concern. "That is your name. Lord Zvei, are you hungover again?" He looked worriedly at his master as if he was looking at his own grand child. "Do you need me to call for the physician this morning?"

"...Zyi." He cautiously uttered another familiar name.

"Do you want me to contact your sister instead Lord Zvei?"

The young man spoke carefully, as he suddenly realized something. "I don't think I'll be able to make it this morning."

"Lord-"

"No." A small scowl appeared on his heart-shaped lips as he massaged the ends of his temples. "I definitely won't be making it today."

Zvei began to feel lightheaded as his surroundings slightly began to darken. He bowed his head and leaned into the palm of his hands for support.

"You don't look well I'm going to call for the physician and alert Lady Zyi about your condition. I'll be right back." When he turned to leave, he was abruptly halted.

"There's no need." Zvei waved towards the main door. "I'd be fine if you just wait outside while I gather my thoughts."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, thank you. You may leave now." The old servant shivered and bowed to his lord with a strange expression on his face before leaving. He seemed to have been caught off guard by something, but Zvei was currently too occupied at the moment to even notice the slight change in his servant.

Weird. His master was oddly kind this morning.

Once the old man had left, Zvei headache disappeared and he snorted in dissatisfaction. It appeared that he had transmigrated into the dating simulation game 'Dark Clouds' as a minor side character named Zvei Anderson. A Holy Bishop who's death made even the devil weep.

How unfortunate, his luck was terrible.

Zvei lifted his head up and slowly glanced around the room. He was in an extremely spacious and opulent bedroom. Mahogany wood made up the walls, and dazzling marble covered the floor. A glossy oak desk held numerous fine-quality sheets of paper, a cartridge and a lengthy, exquisite feather pin.

In front of the fireplace, the desk's chair was positioned next to a tiny table with two glass cups, an empty bottle of whiskey, and two vodka bottles that were half full. It was proof that the previous owner of this body had drunk himself into a stupor last night.

Everything around him was surrounded in late European style. There was nothing modern about his settings and that solidified his predicament even more

Zvei got up and entered the bathroom. He discovered a full mirror there that allowed him to see his entire reflection. And what he saw was a man with snow-white hair dressed in a long gown made up of the most finest silk he had ever seen.

It was definitely something the current him would never wear.

"I really am Lord Zvei."

'But how?'

It wasn't like he died and got isekai'd into a new world. There was no tragic death on his part. So why was he here?

The universe could have made an error. Zvei saw no value in reincarnation; his previous life wasn't spectacular, but it wasn't terrible either.

'Hmmm... what to do?'

He stood with his arms folded, one hand resting softly on the base of his chin in contemplation. As he steadily recalled the events of the day before.

It was a typical lazy day off. And just like the previous three nights in a row he had continued to play the popular Otome game, 'Dark Clouds'. His roommate Haru had got him into it and so for almost half a week he had put all his attention into finishing the entire storyline. It had been a while since he had been intrigued by anything of late so he was pretty damn occupied.

Before going to sleep, he was able to finish the whole 5 volumes. But when he opened his eyes, he discovered that he had become Zvei Anderson, the character who repeatedly failed to impact or improve the plot line time and time again. Proving once more just how insignificant Zvei as a character was in the story.

But on the other hand, hile he was a minor supporting figure his twin sister Zyi played a a significant role in the plot as the insane ex-girlfriend out for vengeance. In contrast to him, Zyi, his identical twin sister, was one of the story's main key antagonists.

Simply put, she falls in love with her childhood friend Carlisle Ravka, the crown prince of the Razha Empire, and soon gets engaged to him. However, because the crown prince had fallen in love with the Heroine, the relationship would always be one-sided. The Heroine was blessed with a white halo and a tragic back story that induced sympathy from all. With beautiful features, a kind all righteous attitude, and pure immeasurable divine energy. She quickly stole hearts, gained a harem and became the high priestess of Starlight Continent. Evoking envy and joy from both admirers and adversaries alike.

Naturally, that didn't sit well with his sister, in fact it infuriated her. She made it her mission to ruin the Heroin's life, even going so far as to form a deal with two powerful demons that were apart of the seven deadly sins. The demons, Lord Leviathan sin of envy and Lord Asmodeus sin of lust. There was nothing she wouldn't do to eliminate the Heroine.

She had no idea, however, that the very demons she had made a bargain with would soon betray her, ensuring her tragic demise.

Yet, who could have predicted that the demon Leviathan would grow captivated by the Heroines pure spirit in the same way that the prince did? Along with the high ranking knight, the pope, the pure-blooded royal Elf, the fallen Archangel, and the very Light God of Starlight continent himself. We're all insanely in love with her.

But what difference did it make, when the world ended in shambles because of it. The Otome game that Zvei had played was heavily filled with dark romance. Every path the Heroine chose would always result in the downfall of the world.

From start to finish, the Starlight continent would always meet it's end. All because the Heroine could not pick a single male lead to grow old and die with.

Now that he gave it some thought, Zvei couldn't understand why this game was so well-liked by women given that the plot lacked a satisfying conclusion. The happily ever after that women dreamed for did not exist. No matter how he viewed it, the game had a poor ending.

Perhaps they enjoyed it because of the chasing aspect. To have several powerful male leads pursuing them. While knowing that they could control them all with a single glance or smile. To wield that much power over someone was far too seducing.

If that was the case, and it probably was. Women were indeed terrifying. Zvei shivered, chills running down his spine. That concept alone terrified him.
