Title "Chosen One" = plot armor + idiotic mc. Just like every shounen protagonist out there.(Well, almost) This explains why Ash's so dumb.š¤š¤ Honestly I liked Anime Ash. Well, at least in Hoenn, Sinnoh, Kalos and Alola. Maybe Orange Islands and Battle Frontier too. Kanto? He was... meh. Though it make a lot of sense and I understand why, I mean, he's ten. I like to think that he's already 15 by the time he's in Kalos and Alola.
The story overall has a nice pace and ML that is not overtly flaunting his previous life knowledge as flag to given himself credibility every time a decision shows up. The writing needs either grammar check machine or an editor to smooth out the rough edges. Regardless the style and nature of the story keeps it engaging and fresh.
So the writing isnāt that good, nothing really seems planned out. Even though many people have told the author to not do something because itās literally the most overused thing ever they donāt listed. Also the author promised a new chapter after finally asking for our opinion. That was four months ago.
I loved pokemon as a kid, and reading this brings back all the best memories I had playing it or watching it, while also adding a new dimension and twist to things with how the characters and training systems are slightly different. It is well written, and balanced too, with the mc being intelligent and op, but not to the extent that nothing is a challenge and the book becomes boring. The author does a great job balancing cool and powerful with reasonable development, and the mc experiences challenges without getting beaten down or ever seeming weak or stupid. This is a great read, super fun and full of nostalgia for me at least, and I can't recommend it enough.

Disclaimer: this review is written at chapter 24 and if this story continues on I will update it. So I really like this story but I just have few things that bug me however none of it is a deal breaker. First a system just shows up out of nowhere around chapter 3 and there is no explanation as to what it does or has. Systems in and of themselves are not bad things and are a staple of fan fics and reincarnation stories it's just the reader is usually told about them upfront. Second and this is just a personal thing but when a story jumps povs really often I tend to lose track of what's happening and this story has a bunch of pov changes I think chapter 2 had about three. Like I said these are just a few things that bug me but none of it is a deal breaker as I rather like the story so far and enjoy how the author shows the main character interacting with his Pokemon. There is potential for good humor and I really liked the truck-kun joke in the first chapter. I really hope this keeps getting updated as it's the best Pokemon fan fiction I've read so far and author I know you mentioned that you want to think about where the story is going in the last update you posted and I just want to tell you not to worry too much about it and even if you just follow the game plot while you decide on where to take the story just have fun with it and I hope to be able to read more.
