41 The Sun

I went to the huge icy gates of the fortress and the command centre came up in front of me, I inserted the command key and it went back inside.

Jor-El appeared beside me and waved his hand and the huge gates opened. We went inside and I told him to create a barrier in the surroundings so that without my permission no one could come near the fortress.

The scout ship was brought here and a space was created inside the fortress to work as a hanger. The main thing was that the scout ship was made of a hard kryptonian alloy.

While the inside facilities were made of Liquid geometry or Liquid geo for short. It is a kryptonian standard multi purpose technology.

It basically is a collection of silver beads that are suspended through a magnetic field and can be dynamically arranged to create a 3-D surface that hovers in the air.

The command key I have is also made of this liquid geo. It is mainly used for displays. But it is also very durable and can be used as a defensive shield for a wide area in spacecrafts.

Mainly the sunstones were very expensive so they came up with a technology which was cheaper and can at least substitute minor roles.

Joe-El took me to the scout ship and showed me the genesis chamber. And then went on about how both him and my mother hoped that I would make my own path as 'the last son' of Krypton.

Of how I have the choice to aspire to be something greater. They gave their life protecting their embodiment of this belief, me.

Of how I am the child of two different cultures, of how I can embody the best of both worlds . And then a door slid open and there it was in all blue, the Superman Suit.

The same design, the same symbol in red and yellow and the same bright red cape. I was just looking at the S symbol on the suit blankly, with Jor-El speaking from my side.

"The people of Earth are different, they won't necessarily make the same mistakes we did."

"Not if you Guide them, Kal. Not if you give them Hope."

He shows the S symbol on his undershirt.

"That's what this symbol means. The symbol from House of El means Hope."

"Embodied within that Hope is the fundamental belief in the potential of every person to be a force for good."

"That's what you can bring them."

I knew in the back of my mind that this was just a Kryptonian skinsuit with a cape. Mostly worn as an informal clothing or as an undergarment while wearing an armor.

But with the emotional speech from my father, even I, despite knowing that this is just a suit, felt a heroic feeling rising.

I took off my clothes fast, Jor-El disappeared. I went ahead and took the one piece suit. It felt like it was made from a blue chain-mail like material. The boots which were beside the suit were of a darker red.

I wore it and looked down touching the S symbol on my chest. I felt goosebumps all over my body like a dream had come true.

Only one thought stayed in my mind that this is all real. I close my eyes and for the first time finally and totally accept that I am Superman and Superman is me.

Not some fictional character from the comics or the movies but a real living breathing Superman.

I step towards the gate while Jor-El speaks from all around," You will be their ideal, Kal. They will chase after you, and in the end they will also join you, in the Sun. Now go out and keep challenging your limits."

I step outside, the gate closing behind me, I hear the cold winds howling, my long red cape fluttering.

I see above, beyond the clouds, the bright yellow sun shining. And without any other thoughts without any other barriers or control, I fly straight towards it.

I pass by the clouds, the atmosphere, and head out of the earth. In my eyes there was only the Sun, the hot ball of light. All I wanted to do was just touch it once.

I kept flying and flying, in the silent space. I have left all my equipment and clothes in my storage, so I did not know how long it took. The only thing I knew was that the closer I got the faster I was becoming.

I had already entered a marvelous state of mind, which I did reach sometimes during my long meditations.In it I could feel my cells getting drunk from power, I concentrated inside them and I felt that I could absorb and store energy faster than before.

I kept observing and understanding how my current body was changing, how it was evolving even more, I could already feel myself getting much much stronger.

In that state I didn't know how much time passed, but I arrived at the sun and headed right into the fire. Neither my suit nor my body burnt as my Bio-electric aura was almost corporeal here in the form of a blue transparent sphere surrounding me.

I felt warm here and closed my eyes, touching the ground on the Sun. Before I could think about going further inside the sun, my marvelous state broke and my whole body felt very full.

I knew that my body has reached the limits for storing the energy, for now and any further stay here will not help me. I heave a sigh taking a last look around and start my long journey back to earth.

Seeing the beautiful blue planet from outer space, I felt very peaceful.

Watching it, within me a belief arose, an instinct, like I was the protector and it was my Home.
