I knew that Bruce was a good actor, but this was on a whole different level.

I saw a young boy looking fit for his age, same black hair and black eyes but with a bright smile on his face introducing himself enthusiastically as Gary.

I don't know why but Zatanna got even more clingy with him around. After some days she even asked me who was my closest friend, that Gary guy or her.

Maybe I have been spending a bit too much time with Gary lately, making her jealous.

But I was seriously surprised, he looked too different from that small kid crying in the alley. And he looked different from the Batman I have read too.

He was dedicated to studying the escape art from John, was friendly to us both and even laughed while playing games with us.

How can someone fake it this much, and even when we were not around he never broke his character. Only when Zatanna asked about his parents could I see a bit of gloom on his face.

One day while playing around the house, Zatanna stumbled onto a door which we haven't seen before. I remember every inch of the manor so I can say that there was definitely not a door on this wall.

It was a wooden door with a golden boundary and a golden handle , but it looked ancient. After scanning inside to see what's behind the door, I asked Gary to stay out and keep a lookout for John.

Zatanna gave me a questioning look, still she accepted my decision, Gary or Bruce looked at me and Zatanna, shrugged his shoulders and stayed back.

We both opened the door to look at a massive circular library which was too big for this mansion. Zatanna excitedly went in fast, I told Bruce to shout if John came and closed the door.

I knew what this was, I was searching for this place from the start. This is the magical library of the house of secrets containing immense magical knowledge.

What John taught us before could only be considered general magic. If I wanted to be very good at magic or make my custom spells only this library could help me.

After two years I could use the amulet freely and do magic with just a thought, as now I could sense magic and the amulet gave me incredible control over it.

But still without a spell the magic was too crude and it wasn't that powerful, but it did provide me with versatility.

I know the amulet is much more powerful than this and that's why I know that I still haven't become magically powerful.

Zatanna showed me the different magical artifacts which were placed around the desks. But I reminded her not to touch them as they could be cursed.

After a while John came but when he saw that Gary hadn't come inside he just took him away. I hope he won't wipe his memory as he saw nothing.

Me and Zatanna stayed in the library reading different books. As Zatanna now knew about me being an alien, I used my super speed without reserve.

That's when I found the two spells which I was always looking for.

The first one was how to make your own personal dimensional storage. It needed a lot of magic which I had but still maybe I should ask Zatanna's help on this one.

The second was to make a custom magical barrier which can passively screen out the objects which you want. But this spell would need a very low but constant magic supply.

It took me 3 days to completely scan the library books. I did find a ritual which would help me alot but It won't come into use any time soon.

We did meet Gary again but he said that his training is completed and he is leaving. I was glad that John did not wipe his memory of us.

We said our goodbyes, I went ahead and hugged him and spoke, very quietly in his ear that 'we will meet soon Bruce'.

There was not even a reaction from him like he did not even hear anything. He just smiled and waved goodbye.

Zatanna had no big reaction to him leaving, she was just jealous of how fast I could read and how I could remember and understand everything with a glance.

I placated the big miss by explaining that now that I know this many spells, rituals and knowledge, I can help her better.

I intentionally did not let her read any book about homo magi as it would be dangerous for her to know about them right now.

Leaving magic aside, one more thing was keeping me up at night.
