I looked in the mirror while getting ready for my first day at Smallville high school. I looked extremely handsome, as tall as 6' with a perfect six packs and the same young face of the actor from the man of steel movie.

On the first day, seeing my height and body, the seniors did try to emphasise my role as a junior, to which I made them more honest by making them all lie down on the bathroom floor.

My friends knew that this would happen and were not surprised but it did make everyone aware of who not to mess with.

I included Chloe in my group and introduced Lana and everyone to her.

And I especially told Lana to take care of her as she was new in town and did not have many friends. Lana agreed though a bit reluctantly, as she could see how close I and Chloe were.

I basically snatched the position of quarterback in our High school team, the Smallville Crows.

During the tryouts I challenged the hot headed coach Walt Arnold, that I am the best quarterback he would see in his teaching career and only by giving me the position could he hope to win the state championships ever again.

Angry at being taunted by such an arrogant junior, he personally took my tryouts, but after watching me play changed his tune of how I am the destined kid who will fulfil his legacy.

I managed my strength to acceptable levels so he would get impressed and make an exception for me. I joined the team as I wanted to be the popular guy and make this years of school a bit more fun.

Lana did not join any club. I knew she had a lot of work to do, but I wanted to see her in a cheerleader dress cheering me on. When I told her this she accepted to go for the tryouts shyly.

Basically a day before, I told her about my plan after high school and asked for her help. I knew this was a very big thing that I was asking of her and it was a very risky decision too.

She immediately answered yes, feeling very happy to be asked for such an important position. I repeatedly told her the risks as well as assured her too that I am very confident that this plan would work and I would never ask if it wasn't beneficial for her.

Her reply didn't change. And so she was learning things and preparing for our future. That was also one of the reasons she accepted Chloe as a friend as she knew Chloe's computer skills would help her alot.

Chloe joined the Smallville torch newspaper club, I knew that she wanted to be a journalist and did not stop her.

With time our three's friendship grew, Lana being my official girlfriend was never approached by any guys and even seniors knew to not mess with me.

But Chloe was getting attention from a guy in my class and being the friendly girl she was, she never outright rejected his advances.

During the school break, I grabbed her hand and brought her to the back of the school where no one was around. I knew that Lana saw us and was secretly following to see what was going on.

I approached her and kept advancing near her, Chloe just kept backing slowly with a blush, her ever speaking mouth unusually silent. Her back touched the wall and her whole face went red as we were very intimately close right now.

I caressed her cheek telling her that I feel very jealous when she gets close to other boys, the only one who was allowed to be close to her is me.

She looked at me with a red face and watery eyes. I could practically feel her happiness. I have seen her look when she knew that I already had a girlfriend named Lana but she kept it in and never displayed any of her jealousy and disappointment.

I kissed her near the lips saying that I would be needing her private computer lessons frequently from now on, so she has to be available for me anytime and I backed of. She replied with a silent um and rushed off with a racing heart.

I looked to the direction where Lana was hiding behind the trees with tears streaming down her face. As I came near her, she just kept looking at me still unable to hold back her tears.

"Why Clark? Why? ... Am I not enough for you?" She said quietly trying to keep her voice from breaking. I go ahead and clear the tears from her face and hug her close.

She does not reject my hug and keeps sobbing silently in my chest. Then she looks up at me with her blue eyes and tear stricken face.

"Was it because we didn't have sex yet? I told you we can do it, I am ready, Clark."

"No Lana, it's not sex. You did nothing wrong." I kiss her wet lips and tell her softly.

"So why Clark? tell me why? … You know how much my chest is hurting right now … Seeing you with her so close and intimate, I felt so hurt. I even felt that this was an illusion thinking that my Clark would never do that, that he would never cheat on me … Didn't you say that you love me Clark?"
