I looked at him and he looked at me, waiting for the spell to activate but nothing happened.

I took a step forward. Surprised that the spell is not working he waved his wand again.

"Esylarap mih "

I zapped in front of him, struck the pressure points on both of his wrists lightly to make him drop the wand and the hat.

I guess Sandra was right, the training to unarm someone did come in handy.

I wrapped them around my aura and made them float beside me. There was no way, I was gonna touch them, they could be enchanted.

Realising that he lost both the items, I saw him take another wand out from his pocket.

I did the same thing again before he could speak a spell. And now I had three items floating around me.

"Before you do something else would you listen to me first." I said gently trying to calm him down.

He paused his hands midmotion, looking at me for a second.

"So what are you a demon, a sorcerer? … and what do you want from me?" John said rubbing his sore wrists, still not convinced that this would end peacefully.

"I told you the truth already, I want to learn magic from you … And I am what you humans call an alien" I tell him while observing his heartbeat.

"An alien you say … Even if I believe you, why would I teach you anything." He replied looking almost relieved hearing me say alien.

"I came to this planet in a spaceship as my homeworld got destroyed, I lived my life until now in Kansas where a sweet couple adopted and accepted me in this world ... I have several unique abilities, precognition being one of them"

"Precognition? Kid, you are telling me you can see the future?"

"I can't see the future, but I have visions about people who are or will be very close to me in the future … Don't believe me? I saw a vision when I was just a kid, of a small child trapped in darkness. After some months I saw another vision of you taking that child out, only now she is almost 4 year old."

I can see the shock clearly on his face, and his heart beat getting faster. He knows that when Zatanna was just 1 year old, Morgaine le fey cast a mysterious spell to trap her in an unknown place.

And it would take almost 3 more years for him to break that spell and reunite with his daughter.

"I have seen many visions of the future throughout the years, like Allura the extra dimensional entity, coming to Earth for your daughter. You saved her by trapping Allura but are cursed and have to leave Zatanna alone."

"After you went away, she suffered many hardships, almost getting killed by Morgaine, and that's when we met. I have several items from my planet which nullify any magic attack on me, so I was able to save her. We fell in love and got married but in search of you, we were attacked by The Great Evil Beast and she sacrificed herself to save me."

I look at Zatara who is greatly shocked, horrified and still a bit sceptical. Ok so let's just make him completely believe me.

"You do know why they are all after her don't you? You must already have an answer … Zatanna isn't a normal human. It must be her mother, am I right?"

"Even if she is not a human, she is still my daughter and I will protect her forever." Zatara heaves a long sigh and tells me with great vigor.

"Yes but what will happen to her when you are not here, can you defeat Allura with certainty?"

"Teach me magic John, If you are not here I can protect her. I don't want her to die or be captured by anyone." I go ahead a step and clamp his shoulders.

He looks me in the eye for a whole minute, thinking if he could trust me.

"How can you prove it to me that you are an alien?"

At Least he is not questioning about the precognition part.

I look at the wall in front of us and activate my heat vision making an S on the wall.

"So precognition, super speed , telekinesis and lasers shooting from your eyes, you are either an alien or a science experiment gone wrong … so how old are you?"

"I am also 10, the same age as Zatanna."

"Look kid, first we will have to check whether you can do magic or not, if yes then maybe I will think about teaching you"

"As you wish, Master" I take a step back with a chuckle.

"And don't think that I agree with you and my daughter's relationship, you are still kids … And don't tell her anything we talked about today either … Now can I have my stuff back?" He looks at the hat and wand floating behind me.

I levitate the objects back to him. Feeling happy inside that this ruse worked.
