9 Dark Night (3)

"Bruce baby, are you alright, why did we suddenly leave the movie?", Martha spoke and started inspecting if Bruce had a fever.

"It wasn't him Martha, I just suddenly had a stomach ache", Thomas then pats his stomach winking at Bruce.

As they were walking in the dark alley, they saw a guy come towards them from the opposite end. He almost had all of his face covered.

Seeing that Thomas shields Martha and Bruce with his body behind him.

I watched the happy family of three walking towards their doom. And from the opposite end I saw Joe Chill walking towards them. I do not know if someone paid him for this job, or if he had some sort of grudge or this all is going to be a robbery gone wrong.

He has both his hands in his coat, one of them holding a revolver. I see Selina above watching this scene with interest, she could probably already guess that this would be a robbery.

"Wallets and Jewelry" the mugger takes his revolver out and points it at Thomas.

I see all of them having different reactions as the revolver is pulled, Martha tries holding her son close to her. Thomas steps ahead bravely, and Bruce is just watching the revolver shocked and shivering.

I thought that seeing a gun would scare me even if it was a bit, but I feel nothing. I can even see the internals of the revolver, I can even hear Joe's rapidly beating heart.

Maybe deep down I know and can feel that, that weapon could never harm me. This kind of confidence was a new thing for me. All those meditation, getting to know how much power I hold is probably subtly changing my mindset.

For me it may not even be a toy but for the Waynes that revolver was their grim reaper.

"Hurry up" The mugger threatens Thomas waving the revolver.

"It's okay, take it" Thomas takes his wallet out and the mugger snatches it from him.

"Jewelry too" the mugger points the revolver at Martha and her pearl necklace. Thomas steps forward to shield Martha from the revolver and the mugger in a panic fires at his chest.

I saw the whole sequence still debating if I should stop it. Bruce needs to see his parents die to become the dark knight, so can I save them after?

Even if I do create a steins gate but what then, I cant keep the waynes hidden somewhere all their life … that would not even make sense, and if by some way Bruce comes to know that I was involved he won't forgive me ever.

I can miraculously revive his parents after he becomes Batman, but then he would have no reason to continue wearing that mask. Ughh why is this so hard.

While thinking this I see the bullet leave the barrel and dig into Thomas's chest into his lungs.

Bang

"Thomas, thomas" Martha tries to hold his falling body. Bruce just watches his father fall, wide eyed. Selina covers her mouth shocked at what was happening.

The mugger goes ahead to pull the pearl necklace from Martha, who tries to shove him away.

And bang he fires a shot in her chest, her body falls back from the recoil, the string holding the pearls break from the mugger's hand and the pearls bounce everywhere on the cold muddy street.

I watched how the bullet entered their body destroying anything in the way.I could feel their life force decreasing rapidly, like they are vanishing from my perception range.

For a moment I felt weak, seeing their cold body lying on the street made me feel helpless. And then I saw him raising his revolver at Bruce. I felt anger at that moment, my eyes started feeling hot.

Selina was still shocked and sad at seeing the scene in front of her. She suddenly looks up at the opposite building's roof to see two red lights in the dark.

The mugger lowers his gun and starts walking away in the dark alley. Bruce kneels down on the ground in between his dead parents, his body shuddering, still feeling scared at that gun pointed at him.

I felt eyes on me, I calmed myself down and took back the heat vision and looked at Selina who was watching me. She looks at Bruce still kneeling once and then starts going upto the roof through the ladder.

I ignore her for the moment and look at the scared Bruce on the ground. I could almost feel the darkness of the night swallowing him, I see Joe running away, I know he is not mine to hurt.

I just follow selina from a distance absentmindedly, the scene from before repeating in my head as a movie scene. After skipping 2 or 3 roofs in an impressive show of parkour, she goes down in a different alley and looks up straight at me
