16 Chapter 16: Anbu?

Shikamaru was sitting with his father around a small campfire, and Shikamaru was very nervous about the things that his father wanted to speak about with him.

Shikaku had been looking seriously at Shikamaru for the last ten minutes, "Shikamaru, what we will talk about will decide your future, I know you are a lot smarter and more mature than even some adults, but I will need you to seriously consider what I am about to tell you." Shikaku said.

Shikamaru nodded back seriously.

Shikaku continued on speaking, "Both your mother and I have been considering upping your training, while you have been training harder than any other kid we are still not giving you all the training that you could have, both of us have reasons for this but in a recent meeting with the Hokage he had requested an update on your training when we told him the training that you were doing seemed to impress him enough for him to suggest you to rechieve Anbu training and experience the life of an Anbu until you officially reach the rank of Genin. Your mother and I have both been in Anbu and we both think that this would be a valuable learning experience for you, while you won't be experiencing the full thing you will be sent on missions and rechieve training that all other Anbu receive the only thing I specifically requested was for you not to go on any S rank missions until I deem you ready, now, you will have to decide whether you want to waste your time in the academy learning things you already know or further your training and join the Anbu, you will still join the academy but that will only be a year, your basic Anbu training will take around a year so you will be able to finish before you enter the academy, you will be having missions once you finish your training so until you are a genin you will be having training that will make your previous training seem like child's play."

Shikamaru was shocked to say the least, he never expected to get an offer to join the Anbu, and he never thought that both his parents would agree but it did seem like an easy way to power to him and the only reason he really wanted to go to the academy was to befriend Naruto and make some friends and comrades, most of the clan children had no real use for the academy other than maybe learning basic knowledge and the real reason was so they could make connections, since if you were allied with three clans not many people would be willing to fight you politically, of course the clan children didn't have many political enemies so it was mostly to make friends.

Shikamaru thought of all the pros and cons and decided that he would join the Anbu since it will give him a significant boost in strength and experience.

"Father, I have decided that I want to join the Anbu and further my training." Shikamaru said with a serious and determined look.

Shikaku smiled at his sons determination and nodded "Good, I expected you to decide to join, sigh this will be a pain but now I'm gonna have to step up your Hiden training since I won't have much time to train you once you join the anbu. especially if you will have to be at the academy during the day and since you have agreed to join you will have the rest of this month to train our clans Hiden so for the next month all we will be doing will be training special techniques and Hiden jutsus so be ready."

Short chap but now I will start going into the action, yes he will join anbu and we'll see how that turns out, you can suggest some special techniques if you want maybe I'll use them and srry bout the slow updates. next chapter I will have Shikamaru learn some special techniques and the jutsus of the Nara clan and he will learn more things in anbu as well.
