42 – Atreus Situation

Poseidon followed Kratos to a hidden place in the middle of the forest, still inside the barrier. There, Kratos had his eyes closed, but the aura he was emitting was one of rage.

Poseidon didn't care that much and went to his side. Both Gods stayed quiet.

''What's on your mind?'' Poseidon asked Kratos while he enjoyed the view from Midgard.

Kratos said after some time, '' It's a prophecy again... I lost my brother because of it, I was made to kill Zeus, and now, even my new life is based on it. I don't know what to think about it, but for now, I'm quite angry.''

' I can see that.' Poseidon took some time to think of a response, but after a long time, he couldn't think of any.

So Poseidon sighed, '' I really can't give you any advice that would help, but,'' Poseidon got away from Kratos and took out his shield and his Trident, '' I can help you with this.''

Kratos slowly turned around and looked at Poseidon, '' Are you sure? This could be quite dangerous.''

'' For the environment, perhaps. But you know you really don't have to worry about my safety. Go all out!''

Kratos put his hand forward, and after a few seconds, the Leviathan Axe came in his direction.

Poseidon looked envious, '' That was cool.''

Kratos gave a small smile, '' This is an amazing axe. In fact, it was Lau-''

The God of War stopped talking. '' I really am a fool. She gave so many hints, but I didn't catch any.''

Even though Kratos didn't know why she hid this from him, he knew she must have had her reasons. But it doesn't change the fact he was still mad about it.

Kratos took a deep breath and readied himself, '' Ready?''

Poseidon nodded.

Kratos didn't hold himself back. Immediately after he finished speaking, he threw his Axe at Poseidon who defended himself with his shield. What followed after that was Kratos, punching so hard Poseidon was dragged a few feets.

Not wanting to let Poseidon rest, Kratos summoned the Leviathan Axe and went after the God of the Sea.

Poseidon knew that this 'fight' was to help Kratos release some of the anger he had, but that didn't mean he would just be defensive.

When Kratos jumped up and was going to attack from above, Poseidon attacked with his trident. It was a stab toward the air, which caused Kratos to change his trajectory and miss Poseidon.

Poseidon threw his trident as soon as Kratos landed, forcing Kratos to use his axe. When the weapons collided, it caused an explosion, which sent both gods flying.

When Kratos landed, he saw Poseidon pointing his hand forward. What are you doing?

Poseidon looked annoyed, '' I just tried to call my trident back to me, but I think it's broken!''

Kratos said nothing, but he too put his hand forward. The Leviathan Axe came to him a few moments later.

Poseidon looked at this scene with envy. He then looked around and found his Trident. He took it but was not satisfied with the process behind it.

'' Here.'' Poseidon sent his Trident to Kratos, who grabbed it with a confused look.

'' Why did you do that?" Kratos had no idea what Poseidon was thinking.

Poseidon ignored Kratos and put his hand in front of him, '' Come, my Trident!''

Silence.

'' Come, my Trident!'' Poseidon ignored everything else and commanded his Trident to go to his position.

It took Kratos some time to figure out Poseidon's intention, '' Really?''

''Come, my Trident!''

Kratos sighed. He sent the Trident to Poseidon, who grabbed him with a look that said, 'See? I can do that too'.

Poseidon looked pleased with himself, '' Now, let's get on with it!''

WITH ATREUS

''... You mean I'm half God and half whatever race my mother is!?'' Atreus was shocked to his core. He would never think he wasn't a mortal.

Sure, his sister and father are strong, but he thought it was somehow normal for mortals to have that level of strength. But it seems he was wrong.

Like Kratos, he was a bit angry at both his parents and his sister for hiding this from him. '' Why didn't you tell me?''

Laufey looked guilty for hiding this, but Pandora was calm, '' Your heritage never came up. You lived your entire life not knowing that, to teach you some things. You might not know about this, but Gods weren't exactly the kind of race I would call normal.''

Pandora felt her entire life the consequence of the act of a God. She was locked most of her life and had to fight for her life for quite some time. Of course, it was against rats and chicks, but the point is made. So she didn't care if Atreus knew about this.

But she can't control Atreus's feelings, which was quite hurt about all this, '' And you mother? What's your explication?''

Laufey sighed, '' You're not ready to know about it. In fact, I don't think you're ready as of now, but fate is really complicated.''

Atreus now was feeling out of breath and shaking. He instantly knew what was happening, because this was not the first time these symptoms happened.

The boy tried to calm down, as this seems to have worked the other times, but now... it took a lot of time for him to regain his breath.

Even then, Atreus wasn't feeling too well. Hestia and Isis noted that and went to check on him.

It didn't take long for the Two Goddesses to be shocked at what was occurring inside Atrues' body.

Basically, Laufey's and Kratos' powers were fighting inside Atreus, to see which would be more predominant. And this was affecting his health. If this collision between powers doesn't stop, he could die the moment he uses his God/Giant powers.

Hestia said as soon as she finished her diagnosis, '' He is in danger.''

Laufey was surprised, '' What do you mean?''

This time it was Isis who told Laufey the diagnosis. Laufey's face went from normal to astonishing. She really had no idea this was happening.

' Is there anything I can do?'' Laufey said quickly. When she found this out, she was very down, since she didn't even notice that this was happening to Atreus. She thought that what was happening to her was due to Kratos' powers, which increased with anger. But now she found out that it was not that simple.

''Do you know the anatomy of your race and Gods?''

Laufey nodded quickly.

'' Do you have healing powers?''

Laufey shooke her head.

''Then there's not much you can do. We need someone who knows about your race and gods, and who has healing powers. Sure, you can teach us everything you know, but by then, it might be too late.''

Laufey was quiet. She didn't really know anyone with those powers, since practically all her friends were gone.

Hestia realized that she had nothing more to talk about. She decided to call Kratos, to see if he can think of something and participate in the decision-making. '' Iris, go call Poseidon and Kratos. Tell them it's an emergency with Atreus.''

Iris nodded and disappeared.

Atreus, who heard everything, was shocked, '' Does that mean I can die if I get too angry? Or use my powers, that I didn't even know I had?''

Pandora, who was also there, nodded, '' I think your father knew that this could happen, that's why he argued with Laufey about not letting you use your powers. He didn't know about your other powers, but it worked out in the end.''

Atreus went quiet, ' So father was right in not telling me ...? Arrgh! I don't know anymore.'

Anyway, with the threat of Death, Atreus managed to calm himself down.

Hestia nodded at that and went near him, '' Don't worry too much. Your father might have a way and I guarantee you that Poseidon will do anything to help.''

Atreus nodded, '' Thank you.''

All members of the house were now waiting for Kratos and Poseidon to return, to think of something together.

WITH KRATOS AND POSEIDON

The fight was reaching its climax. Both were very powerful, so the area around them was completely destroyed.

After exchanging blows, Kratos decided to use a new power.

''ARGH!'' Kratos screamed at the top of his lungs, threw his Leviathan axe away, and activated something that he learned during his years in the Norse Realm.

Kratos ran towards Poseidon, who realized that Kratos was stronger than before. Knowing that this 'fight' was to help Kratos release his anger, Poseidon decided to go after Kratos the same way.

Throwing his shield and trident aside, Poseidon faced Kratos head-on, without using any of his powers, just his physical form. He knew it was crazy, but he didn't care.

' BOOM.

Both punches collided but neither moved. Poseidon noticed that Kratos was stronger than before, 'Looks like I'm going to have to get a little more serious too.

Kratos didn't care about anything else, it was as if he just wanted to attack Poseidon and forgot about everything else.

Ignoring it all, Kratos tried to hit Poseidon in the face, but the God of the Sea deflected and hit Kratos' leg with a hard kick.

' BOOM.'

The kick did nothing to Kratos, who only got angrier. This time, Kratos changed his strategy. He pretended to throw a punch aimed at Poseidon's head, and when Poseidon raised his arms to defend himself, he punched him in the stomach.

This caused Poseidon to slide across the scene, stopping only a few feet later.

Poseidon had received some damage from this attack. The God of the Sea was smiling, '' That's not all you got, right?

Kratos grumbled and attacked Poseidon again. In the middle of the exchange of punches between the two, Iris appeared, '' Kratos, Poseidon!

When she saw the destruction around the area, she was shocked but quickly recovered.

"WHAT IS IT?'' The two said at the same time.

Iris could tell that they were both bleeding and badly bruised. She knew that this kind of wound was nothing to these two, so she said what she came to say, '' It's Atreus. He's in danger.''
