4 Ch.4 Betrayal (Final Part)

Walking outside the apartment with a bloodied fist and a flower bouquet in his other hand, Adam didn't know what to do.

Looking at the sky with squinted eyes for a while, he decided to just roam around and get some fresh air.

While walking along the road, he took out the ring box from his pocket and started to open and close the box with a sigh.

"That wasn't one of the endings I was expecting, but guess I at least got to know it before proposing to her." He mumbled with a sigh as he wanted this to succeed as she was with him even during his tough times.

After a while, he just stopped thinking about her or anything else as it's gonna annoy him even more.

Just like that, hours passed of him walking aimlessly as the moment the sun started to set when he noticed how late he was wandering around.

"Damn, it's been two hours since then." Opening his phone, he realised that two hours had passed since the incident and he could also see many missed calls from a lot of people but he decided not to call them back yet.

"I will deal with this when I am done dealing with myself." After a while, he arrived in front of a bench on the footpath and decided to sit there as he was feeling a bit tired.

Sitting alone on the bench, he couldn't help but feel the sadness dawning on him once again and making him feel mentally tired.

"It hurts." He mumbled with a tired voice while looking at the sky as that incident had impacted him more than he expected and it wasn't something that was going away at all.

"What hurts man?" He heard a confused voice next to him but instead of looking at the source of voice, he just kept looking at the orange sky.

"A woman." He replied as he didn't feel like talking to anyone as it was just tiring him even more especially about that incident.

"I see." The other person mumbled and just decided to sit next to him, and time passed without them saying anything to each other.

'Silence is pretty good, isn't it.' He thought as it felt kind of calming sitting like that.

"You know there's a lot of fish in the sea so I am sure you will find a better girl." The man suddenly said while laughing awkwardly as Adam could feel that he was not pretty good with this, "Ugh, honestly I am not good with this stuff but hey cheer up, I am sure things will be better."

"Haha, thanks." Adam couldn't help but laugh at his attempts to cheer him up even though it was not that good.

"Hey, at least you laughed, anyway everything will go alright and see you later." The man patted his shoulder and started to leave.

"Ahhh also there's a can of beer next to you, think of it as a gift from me as it helps a lot."

"Aye." Not once did Adam look away from the sky but even with his somewhat failed attempts of cheering him up, it kind of helped to make him feel better.

Looking next to him, he could see a can of cheap beer which couldn't help but make him smile a bit.

"It kinda hit differently." Adam thought while drinking that beer while looking at the cars passing through the road with a melancholic expression.

Suddenly water droplets started to trickle from the sky and after a few minutes, it started to rain heavily but even then he didn't move from the bench or stop drinking the beer.

"They are adding a whole atmosphere to my sadness." He couldn't help but laugh at the timing of the rain as it couldn't have been better for this situation.

Slowly the petals from the flower bouquet started to fall as he looked at it as they all started to spread on the road with water to create a sad scene.

"Ugh, it's not helping at all." He mumbled as even with the help of beer, the scene in front of him kept making him even sadder.

Suddenly someone appeared on the other side of the road who he didn't want to see ever again.

"Adam-" "Abigail."

While she shouted his name with a worried look, he looked at her with a gaze filled with anger as even though he told her to never show herself again, she appeared in front of him.

Putting the beer aside he started walking towards her even though he didn't know why while feeling all the surrounding noise becoming a buzz.

As he walked towards her, she first looked somewhat happy but suddenly her expression changed to a worried one as she started shouting something, but he couldn't hear her or anything and just kept walking towards her.

Suddenly she started running towards him which snapped him out of his trance as he heard a loud honking noise towards his left side.

Before he knew it, a large truck was speeding towards him while honking loudly.

"Adam!!" Just after hearing her voice, he looked towards her as she ran towards him while he tried to move from his position to not get hit.

But he realised the truck speeding towards him as it was just inches away from him when he suddenly felt a pushback which was from Abigail.

"Haha!" He couldn't help but laugh at this situation as just after that both of them were hit by the truck.

"Adam… I'm-" Even though she was saying something, he decided to ignore her as he didn't want to hear her towards his death.

"Haha! It was certainly a fun ending." He couldn't help but laugh at everything that was happening today as slowly tears started falling from his eyes as they lay there bloodied on the road surrounded by flower petals.

After a few minutes, ambulance and police arrived at the scene to find a dead couple on the road next to each other with the man surrounded with white flowers and the woman with red flowers.
