33 Chapter 33: The Abengers Part 6 

*MC POV*

Orokin Potato…

In Warframe, there were these items called Orokin Reactors and Orokin Catalysts. Their purpose was to be installed on either Warframes or Weapons to DOUBLE their mod points. A max level 30 Warframe or weapon would normally have 30 mod points, but if a Reactor or Catalyst was installed, then it would have 60 mod points.

The Warframe players and community called Orokin Reactors and Orokin Catalysts as "golden potato" and "blue potato" respectively. They did so because, well, that's exactly what they looked like. Potatoes.

This Orokin Potato that I got on my system is probably based on those. I don't have an inventory system so I can't take it out to study it. However, it says here that I can apply it on either Fischl or Lumine. I don't think I need to stress how useful double mod points would be.

I chose my currently equipped character, Lumine. The boost in mod points will help in leveling, which means that I can unlock Xingqui sooner and get another Potato.

Instantly, I saw my available mod points on Lumine jump from 14 to 28.

Seeing the character I just got almost reach the same amount of mod points as Fischl, who I had been using for the past nine years, gave me a conflicted feeling… which I quickly disregarded to choose a new mod set!

"Let's see. I'll hold off on choosing an Aura mod for now and focus on increasing Lumine's battle capabilities. I'm still using Electromaster and Familiar so I'll try to match Fischl. I will change it up later when I unlock Lumine's Skill and Vision. Earlier, I saw Tetsu take out the feeder, so I'm going to need some Energy boosting mods…"

When I was done with my choices, I looked at my new status.

I could immediately feel the changes in my body after applying my new mod setup. There was a feeling of power that I didn't have before.

Satisfied with my selection, I looked at the other things on my system.

The Orokin Potato was not the only thing I received after maxing out my first Character, Skill, and Vision.

"Two Formas, huh. And they currently can only be applied to Electromaster or Familiar…"

I guess reaching max level for a set of Character, Skill, and Vision will award me with stuff that I can use to further enhance them.

If these Forma do what I think they will do, then it's better to not use them right now. I don't want my Skill or Vision to reset back to level 0 in the middle of a battle.

"Nice shot kid! That's one powerful quirk you got there."

"Thanks, Tetsu." No need to correct him and say that Electromaster is a Skill and not my quirk.

"I'm done here. Let's go help out your friends."

The battles resumed after the short lull my attack had caused, although there weren't a lot of people left who could move.

One of the still ongoing battles was Rojiya and Souji's.

*BAM*

When Tetsu, Oz, and I were heading towards them, an object came flying my direction.

Oz tried to move in front of me, but Tetsu was faster.

*Thud*

"Ugh. Damn, Rojiya. You must be getting rusty like those manholes of yours to be sent flying like this."

The flying object Tetsu caught was apparently Rojiya. He had cuts and bruises everywhere, but still looked ready to fight. His manhole shield had been hit with a heavy attack and dented inwards, now looking like a frisbee.

"Now's not the time for jokes, Tetsu. Hitogami got Souji. I'm afraid he's under his control now, like Natsumi."

Looking back where Rojiya came flying from, I saw Souji twirling his hammer around with a glazed look like that red-head earlier.

"Shit. That bast- oh, uh I mean bad person!"

Tetsu changed his words after he took a glance at me. Quite considerate of him, however I've had my fair share of cursing, especially during the times I was playing online PVP games.

"Who's the… little guy you brought with you?" Rojiya asked Tetsu.

"This kid is 'Archer'. You know, from last night."

"I don't think now's the time for you guys to be chatting."

I interrupted Tetsu and Rojiya's talk when I noticed that Hitogami guy coming towards us along with the I assume brainwashed Souji and Natsumi.

"You Abegawa Tenchu-kai just don't get it do you? You guys are old news! A bunch of boomers with outdated ideals! It's all because of you old timers that the Yakuza have fallen so low! In the past, we were the ones who ruled the underground and not this 'Symbol of Fear' shmuck that you guys are so afraid of! It's time for the Yakuza to return to their previous position on top and I'm gonna be the one to lead them! Either join under me willingly, or unwillingly like your two friends over here."

Hitogami immediately started spouting his monologue when he got close. Confirmed villain. Umu.

"We'll never join you, Hitogami. I'll admit that our ways might be outdated. However, I can say with certainty that whatever you have planned won't work. As soon as you try to cause a ruckus, you'll have the heroes knocking on your door in no time." Rojiya argued.

"The heroes won't be able to do shit! With my quirk, by the time they notice anything, I will have a bigger army!" Hitogami exclaimed.

"And they have All Might. The moment you get on his radar, you are done for." Rojiya shot back, which only caused Hitogami to laugh.

"Heh. If I ever meet All Might, all I'll have to do is just touch him once. Then, I'll have him under my control! Imagine the number 1 Pro Hero working as my personal body guard. I'll be unstoppable! HAHAHA!"

While those two were talking, I had been building up another lethal dose of Thunderbolt. Based on their talk, Hitogami was worth killing. He's the one who started this bloodshed in the first place.

I made Oz circle around to Hitogami's back so that if he dodges or I miss like last time, Oz can absorb my attack and launch another surprise attack.

When he threw his head back in a fit of laughter, I saw it as my opportunity to hit him unprepared. Pointing my finger at him, I fired.

Just as I thought my Thunderbolt was going to hit Hitogami, it hit a transparent barrier.

"Hah! Did you think I wasn't prepared for surprise attacks?!"

At Hitogami's words, my attack dissipated against the barrier.

"My minion, Tate, over there has a quirk that lets him create special barriers wherever he wants as long as he's touching the ground!" Hitogami said smugly.

"Nice try, Archer. That barrier is why Souji and I had a hard time fighting him. We tried to take Tate down, but he had a barrier protecting him too." Rojiya added.

Not wanting to give up, I clapped my hands together.

"[Thunderbolt: Chain Lightning]!"

Wait, did I just say that out loud again? Damn.

Numerous Thunderbolts fired from my hands and impacted the barrier protecting Hitogami.

"It's USELESS! You're wasting your time! Come over here and join the winning team! Your quirk is-"

*Crack*

"!!!"

To everyone's surprise, the barrier suddenly shattered after my attack hit it a number of times.

Like my Electric Shield, it appears to have a limit to the amount of damage it can take, and continuous hits seem to diminish its durability faster.

Unfortunately, before my attack could proceed to hit Hitogami, Tate erected another barrier just in time, blocking the rest of my Thunderbolts.

I had used 100 Energy in that attack and it still wasn't enough.

"Ok. I see how it is. I gave you a chance. Since you've made your stance clear, I'll just have to make you join my side by force!"

With a burst of speed, Hitogami dashed towards me.

I fired off more Thunderbolts, but again they were blocked by Tate's barriers.

Rojiya and Tetsu moved to intercept him, but they were intercepted by the brainwashed Souji and Natsumi.

Hitogami ran past them, not opting to mind control them for some reason and continued towards me.

As he grew closer and closer, I stopped trying to attack him.

"Archer! Don't let him touch you or you will end up getting mind controlled!" Rojiya warned before blocking a knife swipe from Natsumi.

"Move kid! Don't just stand there! Run!" Tetsu suggested, but I made no signs of moving.

In a blink of an eye, Hitogami arrived before me.

He swiftly grabbed me by the neck and lifted me up, causing my hood to fall down, revealing the short blonde hair of Lumine.

"NO!" Tetsu yelled out.

He tried to boost towards me but was stopped by Souji.

"Hahahaha! Looks like you realized how futile your actions were in the end! I admit I was surprised when a kid like you managed to break one of Tate's barriers. But that doesn't matter because now, you're mine!" Hitogami said with a look of victory on his face.

A sinister smile spread across his lips as he thought that I was now under his control.

I grabbed the hand he was using to lift me and smiled back at him, which confused him.

Normally, after touching someone, they would get a glazed look on their face, which I clearly did not show.

"On the contrary~," I said to his face. "You're the one who is mine."

Gamer's Mind. Immunity to all mental debuffs and disorders INCLUDING mind control quirks, which I confirmed just now. So worth the 20 mod points.

"What? Why aren't you- GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

I immediately started pouring electricity into Hitogami through my grip. He started to spasm as he tried to shake me off, but I held on like a vice grip.

"No barriers protecting you now, huh?! You must have been really confident in your quirk, not expecting anyone to be immune to it. Unfortunately for you, you touched the wrong person. Have you ever heard of the saying 'Yes Lolita, No touch?!'"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!"

"Boss!" Tate yelled.

It seems that he wasn't under Hitogami's mind control and was doing things on his own volition.

"HEEEEEELLPPP MEEEEEE! KIIIIIIILLLLLL HEEEERRR!"

Hitogami let out a desperate cry for help as his body started to emit smoke from all the electricity it was experiencing.

I held onto his arm and increased the voltage. Hitogami has quite the resistance to be able to last this long.

Just when I thought I could finish him off, something unexpected happened.

Orokin Potato for Characters only. Formas are only for Skills and Visions. In the future I'll completely explain how Warframe system works. Probably before canon starts.
