Green Cauldron Sect

Twin River City was located between two rivers, just like the name suggested. It wasn't a big city but it was not small either. Joshua lived in the noble area of the town. His family was called Reinhart. It wasn't a noble family known for its strength, but they did have a good sum of money, richer than most of the families in Twin River City.

He got up early in the morning, excited to start his cultivation path. Joshua made his bed just like he was used to doing back on Earth, and the family maids were puzzled.

"Why are they staring at me like that? Oh right, I'm rich in this life so there's no need for me to clean up my room," he thought while looking at the mirror, seeing how he looked like in that world. He had long soft black hair and a handsome face. His muscles weren't huge but they were well developed and toned. Joshua was satisfied with his looks.

The maids had already done the breakfast, so Joshua went straight to the kitchen after choosing an attire to wear. Their house was quite big, having multiple bedrooms, study rooms, martial arts practicing rooms, offices, and the outdoor area was huge as well. They were rich after all, and nobles loved to show off.

"You're awake already? How rare," a tall bearded man said. That man was Hundir, and he was Joshua's father. Hundir was a smart man, a man of business. The wealth of the family increased by a large amount after he took the lead. Despite being a rich man, he hadn't lost his ways and was a great father.

"I'm not fooling around anymore, I want to become a cultivator," Joshua replied, which startled Hundir. Joshua never wanted to become a cultivator, as he was too lazy to cultivate. It was strange this sudden change in thinking, but Hundir didn't say a thing.

"So are you participating in the test to enter a sect? You're 16 so it's the best age for them," Hundir asked. Even though they were rich, they couldn't buy that. Cultivators didn't care about mortal money, so if Joshua wanted to enter a sect, he would have to pass their test.

Joshua planned to enter a sect nearby, the same sect that the MC of the novel would enter. The MC was called David, and he had a heavenly talent for cultivation. He was born in a village not that far from there, and he would join the sect in about three years from now. Joshua would enter first in the sect, that way he would be able to gain an edge in the cultivation path, and better prepare himself for David's arrival.

There were three sects near the city, and the sect Joshua would choose was the Green Cauldron Sect. It was the best alchemy sect around town. Joshua knew that alchemy was a must thing for him to master. He read tons of novels and knew how important alchemy was, and the MC of said novels mainly were Gods in alchemy. He would try to become the same, using the power of his system when it came to memorizing ingredients, plants, recipes, everything. And it was not like the sect was poor when it came to battles. They had a large collection of martial arts skills, and their sect members had usually better cultivation than the other sects, as they had the aid of powerful pills.

"I'll, father. I'll become the first cultivator in this family generation," Joshua said. Their family had other cultivators, but the last that succeeded was a long time ago, and Joshua wanted to change that.

"I believe in you, son," Hundir said, and they both sat together to eat breakfast. They chatted and talked about a lot of things regarding the family. Joshua heard about many problems of the family, problems that the old Joshua never heard. Unfortunately, they were problems that he couldn't help, at least not at that moment. He wanted to become strong, that way no one would try to hurt his family.

He eats and then left their family manor. The entrance tests for the sects would occur in about a week, but one needed to register himself to participate.

A huge tower stood in the center of the city. That's where representatives of the sects were staying, and people could register there for the tests. They came to the mortal world once every five years, as they looked for talented students to improve their sects. A guard stood in front of the town. Joshua paid him some gold coins and then he entered. One didn't have to pay a thing to register for the test. The sects didn't want mortal money. The only thing they wanted was talented students, so everyone could join. One didn't need to be rich or anything like that. Joshua only paid that guard for his service, like a tip. He wasn't obligated in doing so, but he was rich after all so screw that.

"Sign your name here, beneath the sect that you wish to take the test," a woman said. She had a list in her hands, and Joshua signed his name beneath the Green Cauldron Sect. The woman was surprised to see someone choosing that sect first. Usually, people tried to enter the other two sects but fail, so then they tried to enter the Green Cauldron. People said that the entrance test for the Green Cauldron Sect was easier than the others, but once inside the sect things would become harder. As the sect focused mainly on alchemy, one had to be talented in that field to be successful inside the sect, to get the best techniques and masters. Joshua hoped that he was talented in that field, coupled with his system, he would become a genius.

Joshua then left the tower and went straight into his family training grounds. The entrance test would start next week, and he would train to pass it.
