Insane Power Spike

Before I could even start my exploration, I could feel something entering throughout my entire body. It felt like a soothing water feeling before burning like lava. I roared in pain as it spiked and my body felt as if it were growing. My horns grew a bit longer and more pointed.

After a few minutes of constant torture, it instantly stopped. What was that?

I looked around with a confused look, well as confused as a dragon could look. But one thing was for certain. I felt stronger and taller. Although my size didn't increase by much, I feel like I could destroy a tree with only a couple of punches!

I guess I wont be fully grown for a while. It is to be expected since I am only a few weeks old. But only at that age and I feel this strong already?

I know I've already noted this, but this isn't the average world.

When I left the cave and consumed those snakes, an instant flow of energy began rushing through my body and powered up my muscles which is why I became taller. That doesn't happen normally. Just what kind of world is this?

Perhaps I should explore, to get my minds off of things. I wonder what the food tastes like up here. I hope it tastes better than some cave-dwelling snakes.

I wander through the forest for what felt like hours, and the sun was steadily rising in the distance. But as it reached dawn I saw a green humanoid-like figure wandering throughout the forest. It was quite short and wasn't wearing anything but leather to cover its legs.

It didn't feel powerful at all; it had a wooden club in its hand. But I feel like I could take it in a fight. It must be out hunting for food, and maybe it has some kind of civilization somewhere. Despite its appearance, it does look quite intelligent.

I quickly jump the creature and pin it onto the floor with my claws. I was right, it was incredibly weak. My jaws opened and saliva dripped onto the creature's face as it sweatdropped and tried to put its arms up in defence of its face.

Just as I was about to bite down on its face, several more jumped out of the surrounding bushes and threw spears at me. I flinched for a second, but they all bounced off like nothing happened. Which surprised the creatures greatly.

I release the one under my grasp and I look at the creatures, who all looked scared shitless once they see what I fully am. A dragon. Immediately, they all kneel onto the floor.

"Please, don't kill us! We're so sorry!"

...Did they just speak?!

So I was right, they are intelligent!

If I get the events right, they just wanted to hunt and I pinned one down and attempted to kill it before the others jumped out of the bush with an attempt to save their comrade. Dang, I feel like shit.

Obviously, I couldn't speak with these creatures. Not yet. So I just turn around and wave a wing at them and a small smile appears on their face.

"Oh! Thank you so much for sparing us pitiful goblins!" They all said in unison. It was clear that they were relieved and were probably not going to stab me behind my back.

Soon, they left my sight and my stomach growled. Maybe I shouldn't of spared that goblin... No! I can't eat that guy, he's part of an intelligent race and probably has people who care about him!

I'm fine with killing animals, they don't make me guilty. But for some reason, thinking of killing an intelligent being that I can communicate with always makes me shudder. I'd be depressed for months or maybe even years!

But there may be a time where I would need to do that. Life isn't that forgiving. It would throw everything at you, and if you survive you get to pass on peacefully. But either way, you're going to die eventually.

I was one of the ones who couldn't survive what life threw at me. And I died early. Honestly, I wonder if my parents even regret what happened. I wonder what they must be thinking. Kicking me out wasn't a good idea after all, huh?

Whatever, I should stop dwelling on the past. It doesn't matter anymore. I'm in a new world, and they're in a different world. I should just be focusing on the future.

The sun is high in the sky now and my entire body felt warm and I began to slow down. Having large bulky muscles and scales wasn't a good evolutionary choice for this creature in the summer, huh?

So I lay down in an attempt to cool down. To regain energy. But I perked up when I heard bushes all around me rustling. And I caught glimpses of green limbs and ears. Even some of their spears poked out of the bushes.

Oh fuck. I guess they are planning on betraying me after all.
