10 Chapter 10 - Blast off

Shallot woke up and headed towards the lockers to head to take a shower. After finishing his shower he put on his daily clothes and started walking towards his locker with his training scythe and while walking he could hear an announcement being made over the intercoms.

Glynda: "Would all first-year students please report to Beacon Cliff for initiation? Again all first-year students please report to Beacon Cliff immediately.

As the announcement was going on Shallot was walking towards the locker room exit towards his destination when he could see Jaune pinned to a wall in the distance by a spear by his shirt and Ruby, Yang, Weiss, and a Red-haired girl was walking up to him before pulling the spear out.

Shallot walked by Ruby and towards Jaune as he slid to the ground.

Yang: Having some trouble there lady killer?

Jaune: I don't understand ... my father said that all women look for is confidence. Where did I go wrong?

Shallot: "You probably said something that offended one of them if someone stuck you to the wall. Honestly, you should learn to read the situation first before speaking, or else confidence without the right words are useless. Having good looks may also help on the superficial level."

Ruby was going to help Jaune up until Shallot just grabbed Jaune by his collar and dragged him over towards the exit before pulling him onto his feet.

Everyone then walked together towards the cliff.

Yang: So what's your name good looking?

Shallot: Oh ... did Ruby not tell you? And here I thought we were friends Ruby you haven't even told your sister about me even though we knew each other before joining Beacon."

Ruby started shaking her hands frantically.

Ruby: "That's not it. I just didn't get the chance to introduce you to her. This is my sister Yang. Yang this is Shallot. He was there when the shop was being robbed 2 days ago and he also uses a scythe user.

Yang: "Are you telling me that my baby sister already has a boy she is trying to hide from me."

As they continued to talk they had finally made it to the cliff and started lining up across the plates on the ground like everyone else. In front of everyone stood Ozpin and Glynda. Ozpin stepped forward getting ready to give another speech.

Ozpin: "For years you have trained to become warriors."

Shallot: 'Well I just trained so that I can someday get off this planet somehow and make it back to the Dragon Ball universe but whatever floats your boat.'

Ozpin: "And today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest."

Glynda: "I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of teams. Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given your teammates ... today."

Ruby in the distance was whimpering and mumbling something in the distance.

Ozpin: "These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well. That being said the first person you make contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years.

After you've partnered up make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path, or you ... will ... die."

Shallot had a sadistic grin on his mouth after hearing this.

Shallot: 'I'm really hoping they won't be to upset if I let loose for a while in this forest and plus there's the Nevermore that I want to test a move on. It will probably be overkill but there no kill like overkill.'

Ozpin: "You will be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation. But our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?"

Shallot: 'Now that I think about it. How many people die in this test ... is this why Grimm are taking over because there are no safety measures ... well, that makes things a lot more Grimm doesn't it Monty.'

Jaune: "Um sir ..."

Shallot: "Hope this forest is durable."

Ozpin: "Good, now take your positions."

Shallot just pulled his scythe out and started circulating his ki towards the bottom of his body so he could float down since he didn't want to get caught flying so soon. He figured this out in the last two years but he still isn't capable enough to use it for air combat.

Shallot: 'I need to increase my strength and ki control more so that I can fly as quickly as Videl at least but I haven't really run into many Grimm that can let me abuse my zenkai boost.

Jaune: "Sire, I have a question."

Weiss launches off

Jaune: So, this landing strategy thing, uh, what is it?"

Other students launching off.

Shallot turned towards Jaune.

Shallot: "Don't die Jaune."

A couple more students were launched into the air flying towards the forest.

Shallot then bent his knees to jump at the exact timing of the launch to get extra air.

Shallot was then launched off.

Shallot: "Yaaaaawhoooo

As Shallot was flying through the air he could hear someone else flying close behind him who looked as if they are going towards the same area as him. He has burnt-orange hair that is combed backward with a slight peak at the front and indigo eyes. He wears silver-gray armor with gold trim.

Shallot: "I can smell the hypocrisy coming from him, better land in another area. I don't want dead weight around me. I'm not planning on doing a charity while going to this school.

Shallot focused his ki and started flying slowly away from everyone else towards the area with the relic pieces.

Shallot: 'I remembered there is an area with a crater that leads to an underground cave from the show. If I can get there before everyone else I can deal with the one strongest Grimm in this test, but I can also see if I can find any unique dust to implement into my scythe when I finally make a new one.'

Shallot was near the ground and could see the trees and used his ki to push upwards on his body to make it weightless with his scythe and land on a branch of a tree landing in a squatting motion. He stood up then hopped off of the tree towards the ground. I should be close enough to the chess pieces but Ozpin also said the first person I see will be on my team.

Shallot reached in his back pocket and pulled out his sleeping mask and put it on.

Shallot: "This should make it more interesting. I can also find out if I can train Haki like this since I was able to get this strong even without my aura."

Shallot decided to start walking in a random direction away from the noise that was near him. He didn't want to run into the group he purposefully separated from.

After another five minutes of walking, he could smell a fire happening but it wasn't close by since he could barely smell it. Shallot continued walked until he could hear a loud stomping sound coming towards his direction.

Several Ursa Grimm came barreling through the forest and once they had seen Shallot they had gone to attack. Shallot stopped and tried to focus on their intentions.

That didn't go so great for him as one got close and swung making him crash through a tree. Shallot wasn't injured and didn't even get a scratch but he did think that trying to get Haki like this would need way more time considering it took Luffy two years and he's supposed to be some kind of genius and he was pretty sure that he should have tried this while he was in the Anima plains.

Shallot just opted to rely on his other senses such as his hearing and feel of touch to feel the vibrations in the ground to fight the Grimm. Only by doing this can he get a challenge from the weaker Grimm and it should lead him towards Haki if can even learn it.

Shallot stood back up and shot off towards the direction where he got hit from with his scythe out and could tell where they all were from the beastly howels and breathing. Shallot jumped in front of one swinging his scythe with an upward swing into the stomach of the closest one towards him. He then had a grin on his face while lifting the Grimm off of the ground and slamming it into the Grimm next to it. Shallot pulled his scythe out with more strength ripping the first Ursa in half.

Shallot: 'That's one down four more to go.'

The other Ursas rushed towards him attacking from all around him. Shallot could visualize a rough distance in his head using the sounds and vibrations from there footsteps to locate them all but needed to make sure they were close enough so he didn't have to worry about missing. He shoulder bashed one Ursa that was close to him while swinging his scythe taking its head off.

Shallot: 'I think I got another one but I'm not too sure. The other Ursa's movement is still loud.'

He then did an overhead swing lodging it into another Ursa then jumping and using the Ursa body as a springboard to get out of the encirclement.

He cleaved the Grimm in half after he finished using it as a springboard and used the pole side to bash in the leg of an Ursa to make it lose balance then cut the Ursa in half splitting it down the middle. He then slid on the ground through the legs of the last Ursa slightly bumping into the front leg and before sliding through completely to the other side plunged his scythe into the belly of the last Ursa and swinging on top of the Ursa and cleaving it from underneath.

Shallot: 'I don't hear anything else so that must be all of them.'

Shallot hopped down off the back of the Ursa and listened for any more movements and could tell there were no more Ursa around and he had killed them all with none hiding in the foliage.

Shallot: "Well that was a good warmup with my training Eclypse scythe but maybe I should have tried my new move. Naw I'll just wait for the Nevermore to show up."

Shallot started singing walking away from the scene knowing that Ozpin is watching everyone.

Shallot: "Target on my back lone survivor lasts

They got me in their sights

No surrender no

Trigger fingers go

Living the dangerous life
