1 Prologue

"My condolences..."

"It's... all right, I guess."

What's happening? I was just resting in my bed because I wasn't feeling good and now, I'm in this... room of some sort. There was a large table that separated me from this woman who was across the table.

"May I ask where I am?"

This woman is a goddess, or that's what she said she is. She had hair the color of an angel's wing and has a layer of conservative black mesh covering her eyes. I'm guessing she's some kind of dragon humanoid since her hands exposed some scales.

"You are in the realm of gods. Humans that died are unable to come here and are automatically transferred to either heaven or hell. This place is higher than heaven and home to the other gods."

Realm of gods? Dead? I'm dead?

"This sounds a little weird. Realms of gods? Why am I here? I am a human right? So shouldn't I be in hell or something?"

"Well, right now you should be in heaven since you've never committed a sin. But I summoned here because I sense a bit of rejection from your soul-"

I couldn't hear what she said next, but it probably wasn't important.

This is pretty confusing...

"Why was I summoned here?"

"Don't you want to redeem a chance of another life? I can reincarnate you into another world filled with magic and monsters. Don't you want that? I mean, that's what you kids these days want."

"Don't mix me in with those Isekai obsessed otakus or weebs."

"But you do read them, right?"

"That's because they're interesting and they are the only entertaining books to read."

Isekai novels these days are so famous. I heard there was an increase in accidents and most of them involved trucks. Stupid truck-kuns and car-sans. My dad's a truck driver and I heard some crazy kids jumped in front of his truck. I don't understand people these days.

"How did I die by the way?"

"You died because of a fever."

Huh? A fever? I died because of a fever? That's a pretty embarrassing death. Imagine a 15-year-old dying from a fever.

"It must've been tragic, you had a bright future too."

I sensed a bit of sarcasm. I poured some tea that was in front of me and took a sip. Mmm, delicious.

"Aren't you a bit calm? You should be in shock or something."

"Meh, my life was pretty normal. If I died, I died. No problems at all... except the fact that I died from a fever."

"Yeah, that is a bit dumb."

"..."

"..."

"..."

"So do you accept my proposal?"

Oh yeah, that.

Reincarnation...

My life has been nothing but a roller coaster. It was pretty bumpy and all. The only thing good was that my parents were pretty nice. They better be holding a funeral by now. I died peacefully in my bed.

But...

I wish I didn't die from a stupid fever, it just doesn't suit me. I would rather die from a gunshot, it would've given me more attention.

I'm getting off track now.

Reincarnation sounds pretty fun, I can live a new life and maybe my life won't be some bumpy.

"I guess I can restart."

"Perfect!"

"So do I do some kind of contract signing thing? Do I choose what I become?"

"Umm... well..."

She's hesitating... maybe I was asking too much.

"Never mind, just reincarnate me now."

She smiled. I wish I can see what color her eyes are cause it would definitely bring out her beauty. She had the voice of a cute girl and probably short.

"Before I reincarnate you, do you have any special requests?"

"Hmm? I thought I couldn't choose."

"Well, I can offer one choice for you, consider it a special option."

One request, huh?

Let's see...

If I'm going to be reincarnated into a world of magic, I should have some kind of system that helps me level up. Some kind of status system could help.

If I were some random guy, I would've automatically requested for some op abilities. But if they could think psychologically and philosophically, they would obviously lose control and cause some unwanted mayhem. So starting out weak and growing from there is the best choice.

Hmm, this knowledge from reading so many novels helps a bit.

"Can you implement a system of some sort? Like the ones you see in MMORPG type games."

"Hmm? I think I can do that."

"Oh, can you activate the system when I become 4 in this world?"

"Huh? Don't you want to start as the age you are now?"

"You can do that?"

"Well, yeah."

"Well, I kind of want to but no, I want to start as an infant. Living life again would be fantastic."

"I see, that is a bizarre request but I can do it."

"Glad you understand. Can you also give me an option to contact you as well?"

"Why?"

"Just in case I have some questions."

"I guess. Anyway, here we go."

The woman stood up from her chair, and her hands began glowing. Then multiple lights flashed on me. I looked up and multiple magic circles appeared, floating above me.

"Before I start your resurrection, do you want me to tell you what is coming next?"

Hmm, this is a new world after all. I could probably figure it out for myself.

But a heads-up would be useful.

"Go ahead."

"In this world, a dark god named Ifer has destroyed the principle of heaven."

"Dark god?"

"A former god. Like fallen angels, they are expelled from heaven, but for gods, they are expelled from the realm of gods, this place. When Ifer was expelled from this realm, he destroyed a part of heaven with him and even destroyed the principle of heaven."

"Principle of heaven?"

"The principle of heaven are laws. Without those laws, heaven is defenseless, exposing the spirits that resides there."

"So is this why you summoned me? So I wouldn't go to heaven because of this reason?"

"Precisely, I hope you understand now."

I do, and I'm glad I accepted this proposal. Not trying to get killed over something so trivial.

"So, he destroyed the principle of heaven, what else?"

"Angels have been allowed to exit heaven now because of this, without the principle of heaven, it is not under God's jurisdiction anymore."

"Can't you guys just make new laws? I mean you are a goddess right?"

"Yes, but I didn't make heaven, and the architect of heaven, #•@, disappeared a long time ago."

What did she say? She spoke in a language I've never heard of before.

"Who again?"

"Oh I forgot, mortals aren't able to understand his name, only us gods do."

"I see... anyway continue."

"Yes, when the demon god heard of angels walking on the surface, he allowed his kind to wander the land as well."

"So you guys do have a demon lord, or in this case a demon god. Isn't he supposed to be the bad guy in this world?"

In most Isekai novels, the demon lord, well god, is always the villain in fantasy worlds.

"No, the demon god is one of us. He is like the adjudicator of hell. And yes, we do have demon lords, 5 of them."

Well, glad to hear that I'm not going against the demon god. And I'm just going to ignore that she said 5 demon lords.

"And then?"

"We formed a hero academy for those that want to fight against the dark gods."

"There are more dark gods?"

"Well, yeah."

A chill went up my spine, and I'd start getting goosebumps. Multiple dark gods, huh?

Scary...

"There are only 3 dark gods left as of now but these 3 were the former strongest in our realms. 1 of them including Ifer."

"Hmm, I think I get the gist. So I should become a hero and that stuff?"

"Well becoming a hero is your choice, you can do other stuff if you want."

"Now what about creatures?"

"Everything and some others?"

"What?"

"There are creatures from legends you earthlings hear about. You know, elves, orcs, dragons."

"Dragons..."

"What?"

"Are there any 'Legendary' dragons?"

"Well, yes..."

"Amazing..."

I want to meet one.

"Anyway, that's pretty much it. Any other questions?"

"Yes, two. One, will it be like the medieval ages?"

"Yes, that's correct. And your second question?"

"What's your name?"

The goddess hesitated, then she shook her head.

"O-off you go."

She said stuttering.

Then a warmth of light wrapped upon me.

"Wait, you didn't tell me your na-!"

<>

The boy was gone. Possibly resurrected now.

The goddess sat back down. Then she began screaming.

"Ahhhhh! Is this what mortals call f-f-flirting?! He was cute, but I can't fall in love with a mortal. If I could I would've gladly told him my name. We could've had babies and lived a happy life and-"

The goddess was blushing hard. She continued to keep talking about a future that will never happen.

A minute later, she remembered something.

"Wait a minute, I forgot to ask his name."

And then she started sobbing on the table. She didn't even ask for the boy's name.

What a lonely goddess.
