Why Must I Be a Monkey?
So the tasks? Right, I chose the first one.
[Task: Defeat the Slime]
Good thing I only have to defeat one slime.
I was walking on my hind legs and they were starting to look. Well it makes sense. After all, monkeys don't always walk on two legs, they walk on four.
But I'm not a monkey! Well, I am a monkey but inside I'm not a monkey! I'm a human and I will always act human.

The system in my head spoke. For some reason, it had a female voice, but that didn't really matter. But anyway, I can become human at what level?

Well, that's going to be easy. Whenever I play an RPG game, I always get to level 50 within an hour. You could say I'm… well, I WAS a hardcore gamer.

Huh? Why not? Oh wait, actually I don't even need to ask. I am basically limited to whatever I do since I am basically fighting physically.
Honestly, I've never been in a fight. Sure, I may have learned some martial arts, but I don't think I can beat another human in my current state and current stats.

I looked down and there it was. A blue ball of squishy substances. It was small, probably the size of a basketball.
Huh, it's kinda cute not gonna lie.
I crouched down and patted the slime.
How could I kill such an adorable little creature?
Suddenly, that "adorable little creature" attacked me and knocked me down. It began to stick onto me and I couldn't get it off.
"WHAT THE SHIT?!"

I tried taking the slime off me but it wouldn't budge. Stupid slime, get the hell off me!

So I just need to get this thing into either a cold area, hot area, or water.
I looked around and obviously there wasn't any ice. The air was warm, so boiling temperatures are off the chart as well. My only choice is water.
What happens once it enters water?

Hmm, I kinda thought this would be harder. I mean, a slime is basically… slime… so how is it that when it enters water, it's immediately vulnerable to physical attacks? I can just jab it with a stick and it's dead.
[Stop complaining and hurry up!]
The system yelled in my head.
Alright alright. Jeez.
I looked at the slime on my chest. It hasn't spread much, probably only did some few centimeters. I can take all the time I want it seems.
"Let's see, are there any water sources around?" I said but of course, the only thing that came out was gibberish. I really need to become human, like now.
Luckily in the distance, there was a large pond. That was easier than I thought.
I began walking and along the way, I found a large stick.
"Ha! A weapon! By the way, will I be able to get a weapon? I don't want to be walking around with a stick in my hand." I asked the system in my head.
[You will soon. Just not now.]
"Alright, at least I know I will eventually get one."
We were now just a few meters away from the pond when suddenly, my chest began to tighten.
"What the?!"
I looked down and the slime was enveloping me faster than before. Every second that passed by the slime would spread an inch.
"What the hell? Why'd it suddenly go faster?"
[Answer: A slime will speed up their enveloping process whenever near water.]
"Huh? You couldn't have told me that before?"
[You have approximately a minute before it completely consumes you.]
"Oh shit."
I glanced at the pond. C'mon, only a few meters, it's not that hard.
I began running but it was like running with a fifty-pound backpack. This slime was heavy. How the hell did it get so heavy? It was only this tiny blue ball that probably only weighed about five pounds or so.
The pond was getting closer and closer as I walked but the slime was also getting heavier and heavier.
"Ahh shit… it's right there."
I was only a few feet away from entering the water but my entire upper body was covered. It was like holding a boulder now. I was tipping one way and then the other.
I need to tip forward but the slime put all its weight on my back. I won't let you!
I'd bang my head forward and I was able to take a step. I'd repeat and repeat until I was tipping forward.
Now, I jump!
I jumped forward into the pond.
Splash!
I've done it! I've gotten into the water!
The weight on my body was now fading away and I turned around. The slime was turning into its original form, a small blue ball.
You're dead now, motherfucka!
I'd jab my stick into through the slime and sure enough, the stick was through the slime.
I'd walk out of the water with my stick which still had the slime on it.
"D-did I do it?"
A few seconds passed and the slime suddenly melted onto the ground. Along with that, it also seemed to have broken apart my stick. Shit.
Ding!

"Yes!"
[Rewards: Level +1, Stat Points +1…]
[Level up!]
YEEaaaahhh wait, that's it?
[And the XP from the slime.]

I walked up to the pile of melted goo on the ground. Oh jeez, it smells like burnt silicone.

I picked it up. Well, at least it's in one piece. I'd expect it to be in separate pieces.
I'd hover it over my mouth and stuffed it in.

Hmm… well it smells, but it actually doesn't taste anything. I guess I can live with that.
