---_____---

My name is ???, I am a 16-year old who studies at the local school- Ryukyu Academy.

I was currently by myself in the classroom as I took a peek outside of the window, from it I saw countless students enjoying their after-school clubs.

I lamented in sadness as I sat on my seat, I had just failed my mocks and so had to take supplementary lessons- which was a pain.

I was an orphan- and my parents left behind some money for me which I used sometimes.

With that I made the most of my life, buying my essentials, working odd-jobs and saving up- whilst building my portfolio.

I was thinking of leaving once I became of age and emigrating to another country preferably another continent due to the limitations one faced especially for jobs.

And as I thought of this I sat back down on my chair as I took out a boxed lunch with some rice, vegetables and fish.

As I brought out my chopsticks I began to chew down but in the midst of such a boring lunch I took out my three-year-old phone.

And put on a trending video- blowing up the internet, it was some kind of video that had unexplained phenomena within it.

But as I got to a minute or two within it- immediately the screen changed as an annoying ad poked its head around.

'Just what is it now?!'

Soon the ad started with a game like U.I appearing with it having a Eurocentric feel to it, not sure exactly what it was I continued as I saw a small box saying skip with 10 seconds to it.

Keeping calm I watched the ad- but soon something weird happened, my phone didn't allow me to get out of there, with only the U.I functioning for some unknown reason.

With the skip button gone with two options left.

[A- Do you wish to continue living this boring, uneventful and lonely life]

[ Yes/No]

[B- Do you wish to be more than this, to live however you want- to explore uncharted territory?!]

[ Yes/No]

'Hah the Joker who made this virus seriously needs to stop reading so many novels, his heads gone wack after it all.'

Was the thought that floated in his mind, following along with the joke as his appetite was soiled and his interest peaked he clicked box number two - 'B.'

But as he did instantly everything around ripped to shreds as soon a cold feeling reached his nerves, causing him to lose consciousness.

But after a while of this wholesome... Nothingness?

He found that there was no ground and he was flying at least it felt like so as if he was moving around like an atom.

The space was dark yet he could still see and think- it was weird no matter how you placed it.

But then a blink? later I noted that a nice white light began to hold me near- as I moved forward through the nothingness.

'So I guess I've died huh... Well, that was anticlimactic...'

I'd already accepted the fact I mean I couldn't change it.

While I thought of such unnecessary things I heard a voice- it spoke with the most ease I'd heard in my life.

No- I'm sorry it wasn't sound, but a mood- emotion something of the sort.

『Will you hear me out?』

As I turned around I saw a little tree talk to me- it was a sapling of sorts that seemed to have recently sprouted.

It was floating in the air as it looked at me with warmth?

『… Will, you hear me out?』

It took me a moment to reply due to being stunned by a floating sapling that talked- it was surreal yet the moment passed.

"Hear... You?"

Retaining my mind, I was shocked but I knew that I'd be better calm and collected than anxious and nervous.

This was probably dead land, I needn't be surprised is what I told myself.

The Sapling slowly moved its leaves as if nodding, and carried on with its words.

『I want you to live...』

I didn't understand what it meant by that, I was obviously out of this world so the live part was weird to me- what did it mean.

"Um- I'm sorry for this but by 'Live' what do you mean?"

『I will tell you now. So listen』

『First of all, you are already dead. Yes?』

"….. Yep- that felt weird to answer."

『Usually a soul in limbo would be turned to dust once again before it was remade anew- but I'd like to try something new.』

The Sapling then looked in a particular direction, as if to point out the place I would have gone to. It was the mass gathering of white light that I saw earlier.

Saying that it moved its leaves behind me as I saw multiple blue clouds being moved into a gate of sorts.

『I don't want you to just disappear- I've taken an interest in you.』

"But why?"

『I have no 'why'.』

Hearing this I was shocked, what did it mean by why- it felt so cold, so monolithic and authoritarian.

『Will you accept?』

"Ok! I accept- but I'm just wondering why I'm let off from being re-furbished."

Hearing that the sapling nodded it's leaves again as it spoke.

『No reason.』

"What do you wish of me?"

『Nothing really- live as you want, do what you want it's up to you.』

『I am really not bothered, I simply wanted to do something so I did something.』

Honestly the more I heard from it the more confused I became- but I wanted the opportunity.

"I Accept!"

And with that, my field of view became blank as I fell asleep.

GlaringError here! As I have already mentioned in my author review I am restating it here since I am getting tons of comments about it, that I am more of a reader myself than a writer, I made this novel in an attempt to capture my fantasy world residing in my mind into words.. Writing is new for me.. The premise of my novel is inspired by many great works that I have loved over the years. And some elements I have in my novel that are slightly similar to them but it's just the skeleton of it, the real meat of the plot is entirely my own cooking. Some of the influence that is more noticeable is from The Runesmith (By Kuropon), The King's Avatar (By Butterfly Blue) and Shadow Slave (By Guiltythree). I have immense respect for these legends and I can only hope to follow in their footsteps. To all those who comment just by judging the name, at least give it a chance before letting your opinions be known. Thank you.
