Arcane First Order: Gifts And Curses

Thus, I've been matching words to create random Elemental Spells. Those Spells bear no significance other than using the Elements in a muddle. This time, however, I've decided to go all out and use the strongest names in the tiers of the Elements.

Luckily for me, I had unlocked all of the highest names of each Element. So I'm only left with the middle few to decipher. As I called out the chant, there was the sound of something being unchained, but I was too focused on withstanding Z's Spell.

Back to the exciting match in front of me, the Constellation of Scorpio appeared behind the Kunai as it pointed towards me. The Kunai Z had thrown up, morphed, and changed its form to a scorpion. I would be lying if I wasn't freaked out at the sight of that thing.

You can't blame me, and I didn't live in an area with scorpions. The most I saw were wasps and that poor snake that got whacked by my friend and his jacket. And this scorpion of the stars was giant as it landed on the floor in front of Z. It was preparing to launch something from its stinger.

As I brought my sword down, I shouted out the very first Spell of the many ones to come. The sound of something unchaining was to reveal my True Spell. Well, at least that's what the Words Of the World hinted to me.

Whether it was true, I didn't care so long as it was good enough to do the job well.

"Arcane First Order: Gifts And Curses!" I shouted as a slash of bright colors flew out from my blade and towards Z.

"Alakdan (Scorpio)!" shouted Z, with the scorpion shooting out a tsunami's worth of green muck from its stinger.

I was fortunate that the slash created expanded horizontally to protect me from that wave of poison. The two moves clashed as both of us stood at our positions. Z was holding out an arm and a broad opened palm to support his attack while my blade was on the ground.

Overpowering the Galaxian Spell was not my priority at the moment as I knew the power difference between that Mage and me. But as I saw Z's reaction during the clash, I was seriously wondering if my Spell could even defend against that poison wave.

So negating that move would be all I wanted now. Seeing the clash grow bigger was beginning to worry us. The space was expanding to fit this conflict of powers, and Z looked like he was sweating. But that Galaxian Mage was still holding on as I was beginning to falter.

I quickly got my head out of worry land and focused. Finally, the scorpion's wave of poison was entirely nullified as the slash made its way through to the other half of the arena. The big thing sliced the scorpion into two and made a beeline to Z, who still had his arm extended.

I could heave a sigh of relief but seeing what Z did to the best thing I could come up with, I was astonished and crushed. That giant of a Mage merely slapped the attack away as if it were a small fly. Give me some credit, you oversized Galaxian Mage!

If I weren't so drained of Elemental Power, I would've followed that move up with another slap. And speaking about Elemental Energy...

"Whoa there, kiddo!" shouted Z, as he appeared right beside me.

My legs had given way, and Z caught me in the nick of time. I was gulping in clumps of air as the Mage gently placed me down onto the ground. I instantly turned to my side and into a recovery position to get more air. That's when I saw Bryan lying there like a piece of wood.

"I have to give it to you, child. You're quite powerful with that sword of yours. Although, you have to learn your limits and work on your breathing. Perhaps after a few sessions of training, you might have a chance to duel with me using your full power," explained Z.

The man smiled as he went up to take the limp Slayer. Then, after tossing Bryan on his shoulders, Z snapped his fingers. The world around us started to fade away, and we were back in the forest. And the only person to greet us was none other than the Valkyrie herself.

"I found your Slayer after he went off the radar. He was busy fighting with this young Mage. Don't worry. He only got knocked out by my attempt to block his attacks. But the guy should be fine. I promise I didn't do anything bad to him," said Z, handing Bryan over to Mavislin.
